” Did he?” Well that is strange because were in a time altering ship now and I’m holding his watch.” Petrov said fascinated but worried.

“Computer is Mark Twain or an unauthorized person on this ship now whose DNA might resemble a person from 1885 AD?” He asked.

Petrov CE

“There are no unauthorized personal on board. Mark Twain or also known as Samuel Clemens is not detected on board based on last medical scan made by Dr. Beverly Crusher on the USS Enterprise on Stardate 45959.1. There is one person with DNA that resembles a person from 1885 AD,” chirped the computer.

GM

“Pray tell computer who might that be?” He asked.

Petrov CE

“Information regarding active personnel medical files are restricted to medical personnel and to the owners of the files of individual patients only,” chirped the computer.

GM

“Computer I do not care about their medical history. I want to know the identity not if they have a heredity disease.” He said annoyed.

Petrov CE

“Commander Helena G. Wells,” chirped the computer.

It took a second for the computers answer to sink in but when it did he saw things clearer. Wells is a temporal agent at best and at worst not even SF. She could really be anyone from anytime. His instinct as a SF officer was to contact the Captain or XO. However this was an unusual turn of events.

“Computer classify that information you just gave me. No one higher than my position can access it.” He ordered. At least this way only someone higher than himself would need to stumble on the same info and conclusions on their own which was unlikely. He had some time to think on how this might help him.

Petrov wanted to test the waters. No other way to do it.

Within minutes, Wells showed up.

“Yes, Lieutenant Petrov, what is it?” asked Wells.

“My history is complicated, Mr. Petrov. Sufficient to say, I am actually the famed 18th century science fiction author HG Wells but I used my brother’s photographs because in the 18th century, a female author, let alone a female science fiction author was unheard of. Through several remarkable inventions involving cryostasis, you could say I time travelled to the 24th century,” said Helena G. Wells, “And that, is all I am willing to reveal about my personal past.”
