Lt. Burcham stepped onto the bridge to start his duty assignment at the security station. When he arrived to his station, Ensign Alverez started passing down information.
“Oh, I almost forgot, the captain said he wanted to see you in his ready room, before you start your shift.” Ensign Alverez told Lt. Burcham.
“Ok, I will go there now and see what he needs.” Lt. Burcham responded and turned to the ready room. He stood at the door as it beeped to alert the captain that he was there.

Jack stood and walked over to the ready room door, he prefered to great people rather than sit at he desk and call them in, though it did happen from time to time. “Lieutenant please come in” he said moving around to his desk, a frew cup of coffee was sitting on the edge steaming. “Would you like a cup or something else to drink?” he asked. He oppened his desk drawer and pulled out a small wooden box.

“A cup of coffee is fine, Sir. Thank you.” He stated as he walked in. He was slightly more curious what this meeting was about, going over in his head if he did a procedure wrong, the coffee would help his nerves get through the counseling of his actions, but he was also hoping this would be a meeting on something good.

Smiling Quade slid a cup onto the font portion of his desk .”Have a Seat Lieutenant Burcham” he said , his face plain and undreadable. “I’ve been reviewing your file, ” he said taking a seat.

“Did you find anything interesting in it, Sir?” He asked, not sure if he should be nervous. “I’ve had a pretty interesting career, especially on the Constitution.” He continued.

He smiled. “Good enough,” he said with a smile. “Im in need of a Chief of Security” he said sliding a box with the COS pips for Lieutenant in it. “If you want it.”

“I would be honored to Sir.” He stated, surprised to hear that was the reason he was called to the Captain’s office.

Quade smiled leaning back in his chair. “Excellent, do you have anyquestions for me Lieutenant?” He asked leaning back in his chair. He was new to the ship, and is own tranfer orders to star-fleet were still in the works. There was lots to do to get the ship ready for what waited for them.

“Not at this time, Sir. It will be a pleasure to serve as the Chief of Security and I will definitely ask when I do have any questions.” Lt. Burcham responded. “If you don’t mind, there’s a lot that I now have to do, to make sure the security team is ready for our next mission.” He stated.
