Kay nodded. The older couple moved gear around and folded down the bed. “Wake me if you run in to anyone. I have enough rep as a Engineer to explain taking a job. It might help.”

He helped his wife to lay down and get comfortable. Then they fell asleep. Kay was quiet whole they flew. She wanted to push the shuttle hard but knew that would leave them stranded.

Kay set up a makeshift bed for him and helped him lay down. “I’m sorry I can’t do more. If I can, you tell me. Maybe a low dose of meds to take the edge off?” Kay squeezed his shoulder. “I will get us there, I promise. I won’t give up.”

Tealor, his companion spoke, would you like me to try and block the discomfort so you can sleep? I do not know if it will work, but I can try.

Kay squeezed his shoulder before returning to the pilot’s seat. Yes, I can do it I think. Please let me know if it feels wrong. I do not wish to hurt you. It took a few tries. Sometimes Tealor’s limbs would twitch as nerves were stimulated rather than numbed, but eventually a blissful numbing sensation eased his pain.

No, she is no longer there. She was sent away by Valeria. With an older human man and a young Orion female. The man was apparently quite aggressive over how she was treated. Spit at Lokhar. About a day before we arrived. I didn’t get more information than that. Perhaps Kay knows?

Tealor smiled internally at the thought of someone spitting on Lohkar, he also felt some relief that they had let her go, and that the man seemed to care for her at least in a decency way. “Kay, do you know what happened to Dradvia? she was Catatonic. I think”

Kay sighed and her antenea dropped with grief. “I… I have an idea, but I wasn’t with her when it happened.” Kay explained what her theory was. “I was with Valeria when she got the notification that Dradvia had been brought to the medical bay and was… critical. She knew we were close and had me go with her. Dradvia never woke up. She never spoke to me. Valeria sent her away with a man and a woman. She told me she secured her freedom and sent her away. I hope it’s true. Though I’m not sure she’ll survive.”

She moved immediately to his side. “Tealor, what you did was very brave. You came after her, and endured horrible things to help her. It’s not the monster you need to save her from, it’s the memory of him. You had no idea what they would do. I had heard it before, I trained with the Andorian military before joining the Marines. Nothing I had ever seen or trained prepared me for …” she closed her eyes, her antennae twitching with anxiety. “You are alive. We aren’t far behind her. We’ll find her. I promise.” She swallowed the momentary hesitation and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. “You are not worthless. You are injured and need care, but you are not worthless.”

Tealor put a hand on hers, “I’m sorry Kay the thinkgs you endure, I” he just shook his head. “We’ll finder and get this all behind us.” he said, his internal thoughts not really linnging up with his external words.

Kay shrugged, “I’ll survive.” Her eyes turned hard, but Tealor couldn’t see them. Though he felt it inside her. The almost compulsive obsessive need to find Dradvia. “We’ll find her and we’ll all heal. Try to get some sleep.” She wasn’t willing to be away from the controls too long. The shuttle mostly piloted itself, but Kay didn’t want to be caught unawares.

Tealor woke in a cold sweat a fever had taken hold of him, “Kay, somethings wrong, I’m freezing” he said shifting up in the cot.
