Greng was familiar with the ship design having studied it and knew roughly his way around. As he stepped off the turbo lift onto the bridge, he looked around to see the bridge crew where doing but needed to figure out what was happening on the ship. Greng thought about what Captain Hilderbrand had said, the Captain was not on board and the Executive Officer was missing, who was running the ship.

Greng moved though the bridge and walked into the Conference room and stood by and waited for the senior staff to enter.

LTCDR Greng

First to arrive was an irate Sisnil. “What now?” He badgered. “We have people to find and there’s not time for more meetings!”

~ Zoi

Tealor stepped in the room and sat down at the table, he looked like he had not slepted in days he looked at Sisnil but said nothing.

McKenzie walked in with a little grumpy way. “What is this meeting about? We’re a little busy with other things right now. And Tonav and myself is quite busy in engineering right now. Meetings right now are not the priority.” She said.

Pretha, who has remained in a chair against the wall, duffel at her right side, nearby, watched as folks came in. Heading the grumbling, she began to worry just who had been in charge with the Command structure being absent.

To her, had the Command staff been missing, then a meeting called, she would have jumped at a chance to find out what it was about. And to pose questions if her own weren’t answered.

The fact no one seemed to even want to find out what this was about, troubled her more than a little.

Lt JG Pretha Oberon
Security

The doors slid open to reveal a very tall human woman in the gold uniform of Operations and Security. Her height, build, and flaming red hair made her would certainly make her stand out in a crowd, but it was her obviously synthetic eyes that drew first glances. Her eyes glowed a soft blue and made her gaze seem almost hostile or at least unsettling… even with the slight smile on her face. She looked around the room and the blue settled on the Lieutenant Commander. She inclined her head towards him and said “Commander. Welcome aboard.” It wasn’t that she knew who he was, exactly. But as the newly appointed Security Chief, she did get notified whenever someone arrived on board… along with their clearance to actually be there. The glowing blue eyes flicked over to the junior officer and she said “Oberon, right? Hang back when this is done.” as she took her seat.

McCallister, CoS / CTO

Perhaps it was things she’d been through. Perhaps it was merely fascination. Whatever the reason, intimidation wasn’t what came to Pretha’s mind as the CoS walked into the room.

This was someone she was definitely going to get to know. When told to hang back after the briefing, she gave a quick nod and smile. “Yes, Ma’am.”

Greng looked around at the officers in front of him and noticed they seem to be comfortable around each other. He thought how to break the ice and decided to just begin. His 6‘5” build walked to the head of the table and after a gaze into each officers eyes, he said, “My name is Lieutenant Commander Greng and I was sent to find out what was happening with the ship.” Before anyone could speak, he continued, “Which of you is in charge at the moment and what is the status of everything?” Greng waited for the person in command to speak up

LTCDR Greng

Sisnil glanced around the table and shook his head. “The ship command staff are currently held captive. I am comfortable taking charge, I’ve led ships previously.” He left off that he typically ran crews of under ten people. “If we could go around the table and quickly catch the lieutenant commander up to speed, it would be appreciated. It’s only your fellow crew in the hands of the Syndicate, after all.”

~ Zoi

Hilderbrand snickered as Sisnil put himself forward to take command of the ship.
“I wouldn’t trust a pirate to Command a Starfleet ship.” He stated.

McCallister looked at the Lieutenant Commander and said “Security has in custody a suspected member of the team that is involved in the abduction of the crew. Interrogation is-” and the blue eyes flicked to Zoi and back, “- ongoing, Commander.”

McCallister, CoS / CTO

Hilderbrand nodded.
“That is correct. WE had some engine trouble that held us back, but our intrepid engineer managed to get it repaired. We’re currently on the way to the Melania system, where the Romulan group Imperial Sabre, have our Command staff and several others.” The Captain stated.

GM Budgie

Greng glanced around the room and saw that the Captain had a very capable crew. After a moment, he looked up, straitened his uniform and said with a stout voice, “Per Starfleet Regulation 17, Part C, I, Lieutenant Commander Greng hereby take command of the USS Wolverine until such time as it’s Captain or Executive Officer are returned or Starfleet Commander relieves me of said duties.”

LTCDR Greng

Tealor eyes were ensnared by dark circles, he looked over at the commander not really knowing what to say or do, He had been spending o much time dealing with patients in sick bay and counsoling people who’s friends were missing, not to mention dealing with his missing staff members. He was on the edge him self

Now that more light had been shed on what had occurred, she took the time to look around the room. Her fingers danced lightly on the PaDD on her lap as she noted ranks and departments of those present.

With the upper echelon of the ship missing, Greng’s announcement of taking over actually made her exhale an unrealized breath. Something told her he had known more about what was happening than she knew, when they arrived.

It definitely made her feel better.

She eyed the staff and watched everyone reactions as they soaked in the fact there was finally someone in charge.

Oberon
Security

Hilderbrand raised an eyebrow at Greng’s statement but nodded, it made sense to him. Greng was the most senior officer.
“There’s no argument from me Sir.” He replied.
“What are your orders?” He asked.

GM Budgie

“My only orders are to keep me informed of what is happening and to remember that our first priority is to find the Captain and rest of the crew ” Greng sternly replied. “Ensure that we are battle ready before we reach out destination.”

Greng looked around the room again and could see the disposition on each of their faces. As he looked at them he said “Dismissed.”

LTCDR Greng

Tearlor stood from his seat, “Sirs” was all he said as he left the conference room. making his way back to his office.

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Before everyone began to leave Hilderbrand chimed in.
“Apologies Sir, but the Romulans have an unknown number of vessels. It is highly likely that they’ll be expecting a rescue. I would suggest that we do some planning?” He stated.

GM Budgie

McCallister nodded in agreement. “Respectfully, we should have a basic idea as to how we are going to go about getting to our people before we arrive, sir. Even a rudimentary plan is better than none at all. Do we recon first? Are we going to try to negotiate their release first, or just try direct action? If they are in separate locations, who is the priority? We should all be on the same page for this, Commander.”

McCallister, CoS / CTO

Pretha was glad someone brought up a plan. She, herself was going to ask the CoS about it when everyone left. Since nothing had been said, she thought, perhaps, there was already one in place.

At the same time, she chided herself for not speaking up first. She should have done so, low rank or not.

Lt JG Oberon
Security

“You are all correct in that we need a plan.” Greng replied, “Do any of you have an idea of what we are going into?” Greng had no idea what they were getting into and this crew did not know him from Kahless.

Greng looked around the table and said, “What are your ideas for this rescue.”

LTCDR Greng

Sisnil rolled his eyes and scoffed. “See, this is exactly why I should be in charge. Starfleet can’t even keep a first officer on board and make sure he’s in the know.” He turned to Greng. “Look in the morgue. There’s a dead guy with a Syndicate tattoo. I would know, because I have one.” There was a choice, unkind word in there. “The brig guy says he isn’t that well connected, but that just means he isn’t that high up. The Syndicate doesn’t eat from pies it doesn’t control. Which means your lost crewmates are in the hands of the Syndicate. And that means a former slave is in the hands of the Syndicate. Do you know what that means? I guarantee you, you don’t.”

~ Zoi
Tealor listen to his words, the thoughts of what he had seen through Ensign Dradvia’s hard regression, the punishment she would be recieveing he guessed was far worse than he could imagine and his imagination was vivid and bad. He kept this all locked away in a mental safe of course shield from Zoi. He then reach out telapathicly. to him”I do, and least a little, and i’m tired of waiting, all this talk is getting us no where, i’m a doctor not a fighter, but i’ll do what needs to be done” he thought.

“Do you have idea’s on where they might be taken?” he asked him so that others can her. “I don’t image we have much time.”

Dr Tealor Tessan
Chief Medical Officer U.S.S Wolverine

Sisnil glanced at him. “Look, I appreciate your support, but don’t think that telepathic trick you messed up made you understand anything.” He turned to the rest of the table. “We follow whatever clues we have and everything. Runs. Through. Me. If anyone would recognize the clues and make a good guess, it would be me.”

~ Zoi

Tealor glanced back. “Fair enough” he said not wanting to argue, he was more interested in getting their crew mates back. He sealed up his thoughts again.

He felt like lashing out, he was far more aware of the relationship between the him and Ensign Dradvia that either of them were aware. He had no doubt that Zoi had deep care and feelings for her, infact every thing about him suggested feirce loytaly to those he cared about. No Tealors concerns were more that the relationship reaked of co-depenancy and it was not good for either of them. A battle for another time.

Hilderbrand shot a look at Sisnil’s outburst unimpressed and clearly annoyed.
“This isn’t the time for ifs, buts and maybes. We’ve been on the trail of the Romulans for a while now and we don’t even have a plan. I seem to recall your decision was to just go straight after them at maximum warp. We should be there soon and we aught to have some sort of plan. Unless you’ve thought of something? Oh great and wise tactical genius of our time?” He asked his tone oozing sarcasm and frustration.
“Look, the long and short of it is. We don’t know where the Romulans are going, but for all intense and purposes it is likely they’re taking them back to their base of ops in the Melania system. We know that one member, Xekeer, has ties to the Syndicate- that doesn’t mean that they all do by the way. We also know that they have at least 3 ships, maybe more, although it was hard to tell with the information we were given but it is likely they were trying to inflate their number. I think that about summarises the situation.” Hilderbrand explained.

GM Budgie

McCallister cleared her throat. First she looked at Zoi. “You are guest, not a leader. Everything will go through the Commander and you will be a consultant. While your expertise, I’m sure, will be valuable… don’t for one second think you are in charge.” She then looked at Hildebrand, and then the Commander. “We follow the trail as we have been. We stop when our long range scans pick up activity or signs of such. At that point we assess the best avenue to conduct surveillance and garner as much intelligence as we can.” Her glowing blue eyes grazed intensely over the assembled personnel. “You remember intelligence, don’t you all? You know… the primary purpose of this ship?” She then looked back at the Commander. “After that, we develop and execute a rescue plan. That is my recommendation as the Security Chief and the Chief Tactical Officer of this ship, sir.”

McCallister, CoS / CTO

I remember this is an intel ship,” Sisnil said, “You know, since I’m an intel consultant and Morris wants to make me officially intel.”

~ Zoi

“Then you said it yourself.” McCallister replied flatly. “Consultant. Leave it at that.”.

McCallister, CoS / CTO

“Incompetent vlatak’ar,” Sisnil muttered, using an Orion insult.

~ Zoi

McCallister turned her attention to the Commander, but the corner of her mouth twitched as she suppressed a grin.

McCallister, CoS / CTO

Greng thought of handing the two of them bath’leths and seeing which came out on top but washed that thought deep down. Looking at each of them, Greng said, “Our main priority is to get the Captain and rest of the crew back. Your bickering between each other is doing nothing but straining that objective.”

LTCDR Greng

Hilderbrand grunted although it was more to hide a snigger than anything. Being a Marine he recovered quickly. He cleared his throat.
“Does anyone have anything useful to contribute? Maybe we should bring up what we have of the Melania system?” Hilderbrand spoke up.

GM Budgie

McCallister tapped the interface on the table and brought up the computer entry for the system.

McCallister, CoS / CTO

Greng look with stern curiosity as McCallister brought up the data; he couldn’t hide his taste for battle that well.
