Shortly after everything and semi-flirting, she noticed that she hadn’t been prepared for dinner just yet. She then ran to her quarters and got changed quickly. However, she is afraid he won’t show up because of some mission that might be happening. However, he might still be on board the ship. But she’s not so sure. She then got from her quarters to the mess hall and thought to herself. Why don’t I get a whole table set up and ready for dinner with dinner on the table for us? It would be a little sexy don’t you think? She thought those questions to herself. She then told herself it might be great for them and would be in a good mood to get to know him a little bit more. She didn’t get the chance to get to properly get to know the doctor very well because it was only a check-in with the chief medical officer. However, now that this is the chance to look forward to getting to know him is something she is interested in. However, as a Russian human female wouldn’t be able to understand someone in his shoes because she hadn’t felt that way before.

As someone just new to being around the ship and as the new chief engineer she knows her way from an engine to a plasma coil. However, this is different. A love interest maybe? She is completely not sure about anything. This is her very first semi-romantic dinner that could be possibly the best in her life and realizing that nothing is all about being romantic she never had a romance or a boyfriend in her life. So she wants to make it nice and slow before she starts going into something romantically serious with the nice doctor. She knew that there was something that the doctor wasn’t telling her but she didn’t want to push it to the limit because she could tell that something he didn’t want to tell her right away and she’d respect that.

IC: Tealor walked in looking around for his dinner partner it had been one heck of a day and he was looking forward to a good meal and some conversation. He was dressed in a pair of 20th century black slacks, a white but down shirt with the top two buttons open a blue sport coat and a nice pair of fake leather shoes. “I hope I’m not too late, it has been one busy day” he said as he approached the table.

Tealor had pretty much shut down his personal observation skills for the day and was doing his best to not sound like a counselor, smiling warmly he shifted slightly in his chair looking for a drink, “So tell me a little something about yourself McKensie.” he stated

“Well, I am a Russian. If you haven’t noticed my accent. I’ve never dated anyone. Honestly, this is my first. I’ve been single my whole life including the academy. I am the Chief Engineer. On board here. So I’ve been busy like I’ve said. Just been wanting to settle down with a dating relationship eventually.” She said telling Tealor about herself.

Tealor had not realized this was a date, although he must have subconciously as he was dressed for it. Not wanting to drown the mood with stories of losing his soulmate tragically, or having spent years avoiding dating because somehow no one ever seemed to measure up, he decided to remain focused on his date. “No dating that’s hard to believe, is it a busy thing? you are a smart attractive woman can’t image you don’t have men fighting to get your attention” he suggested.

“I like to go to the holodeck to go and chill get away from work. I like to work on engines. So its not really all that much about me.” She said.

Tealor new the feeling he was barried in work most the time and had little time for hobbies, “I tend to work my play time into my general work I’m kept pretty busy most days” he noted. “So hopes, dreams, storries for your past that might help me get to know you more” he asked.

Tealor looked at her thoughfully, “So you love your work then as an engineer, but eventually want to step away from it to captain a ship? ” he asked wanting to draw some more conversation out of the meeting. He looked around the table to see if he could get an idea of what was on the menu.

She chuckled a little. “If you want me to say it I can. I have always wanted to try captaining my own ship since I was younger. But after getting out of the academy there weren’t any available positions. So that’s why they put me here on the Wolverine to be the Chief engineer. I love doing my work.” She said.

Tealor smiles, “So what about engineering made you fall in love with it?” he asked pooring him self some more water. “I personally love my work it keeps me engaged with my fellow crewmates.” he noted.

Tealor listend intently to what she was saying, leaned back and took another sip off his water. “Did you spend a lot of time with your fathers?” he asked

“Yeah. My mother died when I was younger so it was mostly myself and my father. So yeah I spent a lot of time with him and in engineering for the most part.” She said with a smile.

Tealor smiled, sensing the pride in her tone as she spoke. “It sounds like your father played a big role in your life,” he said thoughtfully, his tone gentle. He leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on the table, his hands loosely clasped. “Do you think he’d be proud of where you are now? Serving as Chief Engineer on a Starfleet vessel, working toward commanding your own ship?” There was genuine curiosity in his voice as he met her eyes.

“Well, yeah of course he would be proud of me. But the funny thing is he recommended that I be here on board this exact vessel to command. They approved and got transferred.” She said blushing a little.

Tealor smiled, “So your dad must have some pull with the brass?” he said interested on who here father was. He took a sip off his water.

McKenzie looked at Tealor and smiled. “Yeah he did.” She responded. “However, after he was forced to retire. My father is in his 70’s now and ever since, I’ve been with Star-fleet since then. I want to make my father prouder then ever. He’s a sweet man and a nice person when you get to know him.” She added while looking at him with almost the intent of wanting to kiss him.

Tealor took a bite of food, as he listend intently to what she was saying. “My mother and father were the same, pulled some strings at the start of my career to get me headed in the right direction.” he said.

Tealor slowly ate his dinner listening. It had been a long day for sure, the fatigue was starting to show on his face a little. “Dinner is good” noted.

Tealor stired through his mixed salad with fruit and nuts, he was not much a meet eater in fact most of his people did not eat meat often. Growing up on earth he certianly had more than most but it was not is favorite. “I miss my home” he mentioned. “Starships are great but there is something about the open air that revitalizes ones soul”

Tealor realized she had placed her hand on his, something he had not expected. He smiled and slid his hand back to grab his water and take a drink. “I,” he said with a pause. “It is good to have friends” he noted, it was now becoming clear to him that this was more difficult that he had anticipated. He was certainly not ready for anykind of a more intimate relationship with anyone, it would not be fair to them would it? he thought briefly. “I am enjoying your company McKenzie” he said as he took another bite off his dinner which was nearlly done.

He thought about what she was asking for a moment or two. “I’m not really sure, would love to just start a friendship though” he said with a smile. “See where it goes from there?” he looked over at her. “I tend to move pretty slow when it comes to relationships” he noted. “Friendships or otherwise.”
