USS Wolverine
Main Sim- En Route to Melania IV

She stared at the entry of the cell. She could hear the slight hum of the force field. She stood up and walked towards it. She reached out until her hand touched it. She wanted to know how severe the voltage was.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
The voltage had been set rather high, not too high to cause severe damage but enough to cause a shock and some pain.
DC watched as Dradvia tested the barrier on the cell and thought of what she ‘knew’. To her it was precious little that anyone would find interesting to have or want. Resting her head back against the bulkhead she looked again to T’Pris, the avatar of calm. “Do you have an inner clock? Do you know how long we have been traveling for?” Every Vulcan she had encountered had been rather proud (but quick to deny that!) of their ability to be a walking clock and note the passage of time and other similar details. Was T’Pris like that? Could she calculate that even when out?
- Darklis, CSOT’Pris’ brow arched, “I must have been still somewhat effected by the anesthetic. I did not even consider that. Yes, it has been 11 hours since we were made unconscious. Given the speed of Romulan ships, which I estimate to be about Warp 8 and given that time span I would estimate we have travelled 1.6 Light years in 11 hours. Anyone know what is that many light years from where we were?” She asked looking at the others.
~Dr. T’Pris
She closed her eyes and tried to picture the space around where they were. Tonav would have had a better idea. Her specialty was computers. If she could have five minutes with a computer interface she could learn a great deal. Shaking her head Darklis shrugged. “I don’t,” she answered. But 11 hours? “That was a long nap,” she commented wryly.
He’d backed away from Dradvia when asked, not quite sure what was going on.
He kept his eyes on Dradvia, but also cast them around the rest of the cages he could see. Some of his fellow captives were trying to be logical, others like Dradvia had turned to looking for something and then testing the cage.
Zachariah sat back down and let out a sigh. He had very little to say. Honestly, he had nothing left.
Ensign Zachariah Conway - Medical Officer
A tense feeling hung in the air as they all were left stew over what Xekeer had said.
OOC: I’ll leave this open for another couple of days before moving on, just in case there’s any more interaction you all want to do.

Dradvia paused what she was doing and wandered around the cell. Her voice was quiet, any surveillance would need to be adjusted to hear her. She had learned how to do that before. “Conway,” she whispered fiercely, “Hey, look, you are going to be fine. It is going to suck, I won’t lie. There will be times where you don’t think you will make it. Just remember, you are the only one who can keep the rest alive. They may or may not give you a basic kit, but being a doctor, they will demand and force you to keep them going. They will want to continue whatever they are doing as long as possible. Otherwise we would be dead. Do what they tell you.” She dared a flicker of a sympathetic look for him. “My situation is different. I’m in a lot of trouble. When they come for me, don’t try to stop them. They will hurt you badly, and they will still take me. You need to stay strong and healthy to make it out. You’re a good doctor. Alright?”
She moved back to the field and set both hands against it this time. It hurt, a lot, but she wanted to see if it would get deadly if she forced the contact.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
Why was Dradvia assuming the worst? They were there for a reason. They had to be, not just some random snatch and grab, or, on another thought, that the world did not revolve around Dradvia. Or was she herself denying reality? DC would be lying to herself if she thought she wasn’t scared but claiming the end of the world? Seriously? “Can’t we just wait to see what they want before deciding to choose the worst path?” she said, perhaps a bit snappier than what she intended.
It would seem that the forcefield had been set to cause pain, but not enough to kill. Dradvia could deduce that the Romulans wanted them all very much alive and as free from harm as possible. At the forcefield, a familiar figure flashed across her vision, someone she recognised from her past. Someone she wouldn’t want to meet again. It was brief . A hallucination perhaps or a trick of the light, the result of the sudden pain of the forcefield?

Dradvia stepped back from the field, startled. Her heart took off and she had to get out now. The field was painful, her body didn’t want to approach the field again. Her survival instincts said otherwise. There was no more thinking, no more hiding and watching. Animal survival instinct took over. Like a wolf that will chew off its own leg to escape a trap.
Dradvia threw herself, whole body into the field. Each time it knocked her back she got up and did it again, over and over.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
“Or not,” she muttered, wincing as she heard the crackle of the force field. What was she to say to that? It was crazy, yes, but the woman was frantic. She was inviting more trouble on them with her mania. Maybe she did have something to be concerned about. Maybe they were just playing with her. But it was not helping anyone, much less Dradvia. How is it that everyone had ‘pasts’ except her? Wanting to scream out ‘stop it!’ T’Pris got to it before her and in a better way instantly making DC feel ashamed for thinking the way she had.
“Ensign Dradvia, stop!” T’Pris said speaking sharply and to the point. She recognized that the woman was not thinking now. She had seen this on the Romulan ship when she was undercover. She had had to act like that it did not bother her to see a being tortured or to be driven to the animal state like this. “Do not let him, they, win.”
Dr. T’Pris
David heard the protesting crackle of the forcefield and T’Pris’s command, and pieced together well enough what was happening. “Conway,” he ordered, “hold her back, minimal force necessary to prevent harm.” He took a breath, rubbing behind his eyes as his headache began to flare again. “Dradvia, you’ll be alright. I know what’s going through your mind, but I need you to take a moment and step back. You’ll be better able to avoid everything if you’re still unhurt by the field.” He looked over to the scientists. “Doctor, Lieutenant, any weaknesses you might know of or have found in these cells?”
Commander David Morris
Commanding Officer
Weakness. “They have a weakness in decorative design,” Darklis said, eyes examining the only thing that she had any modicum of knowledge about and that was the energy barrier and whether there were any flaws in the barrier’s energy pattern that may be exploited. It didn’t look to be so on a first glance but she focused on that to deliberately not focus on her, no, their, predicament and Dradvia’s outburst.
T’Pris sighed quietly in relief as the Captain caught on to what was going on. She frowned at the Captain’s question and looked around the cell critically. Taking in every detain, every corner…even looking under the beds. She was especially looking for any panels inside the side…ventilation shaft or not, cataloging any weaknesses. She very much doubted there would be any weaknesses, Romulans were renown for their ability to hold captives for as long as they wished, not how long the captives wished.
~Dr. T’Pris
Unfortunately T’Pris’ assumption was correct. The cell was well built with no sign that she could easily escape.
