The Romulan ship headed to warp 9 as soon as T’Plak- now Suta, T’Bob (Cole Miner) and the other marines materialised on the ship. They dumped their captives in the brig in pairs.Dradvia and Conway were in one cell, Darkliss and T’Pris another and David was on his own. The Romulans grinned and laughed amongst themselves as they activated the forcefields around the cells. Dradvia and Conway’s cell was opposit Darkliss and T’Pris’. David’s was next to Dradvia and Conway’s. Each cell had a bed and a place for doing the necessaries but apart from that they were bereft of everything else. Suta and T’Bob looked scathingly at the Starfleet Officers (plus one Civilian), hatred clear in their eyes. Suta glanced around them.
“Its a shame we couldn’t get anyone else good. We’ve only got two senior Officers in this bunch. I’d have liked to have taken the Chief of Security, he was too clever for his own good.” She sighed. “We’ll just have to make do.” T’Bob nodded.
“Its done now, we did the best we could. We got the commanding Officer though, that’s something eh?” He stated with a smile trying to be optimistic. Suta gave him a withering look but nodded. She had always thought T’Bob as simple.
“Lets get up to the bridge, leave this lot to sleep it off they’ll be awake in a few hours just before we arrive back at base.” Suta and T’Bob smiled menacingly as they walked out of the brig, their plan had worked.A few hours later the effects of the hypo spray began to wear off and the captives started to awaken from their drug induced sleep feeling very groggy.

T’Pris as a Vulcan had a very hardy constitution so she was one of the first to wake up and realized she lay on her back, blinking at a ceiling. She thought it was a ceiling, definitely a ship ceiling though nothing like a Starfleet ship ceiling. In fact it was very reminiscent of the ceiling of the last Romulan ship she had been on. Romulan ship architecture for sure, she thought to herself as she studied it.
She lay for a few moments taking several deep breaths and sharpening her mind. While she did this she took stock of her body and other then a contusion or two from being hauled around and tossed onto the deck she seemed physically fit. She could not say when she had ever felt quite like this though, even coming out of a Vulcan trance, she had been more alert then this. It was taking some effort to clear her mind but she used the Vulcan taught skill of self healing, where a Vulcan’s brain could control most of their bodily functions. Using this technique as she lay there, deep breathing, eyes closed again she began to work the sedative out of her body. Once she was sure she had removed it she opened her eyes and listened for a few moments. She heard breathing beside her so she turned her head and saw Darkliss laying beside her. She too on her back. Taking a quick look around she saw she was in a primitive brig cell, forcefield at one end. Romulan brig.
Smoothly rising up into a sitting position she reached over and shook Darkliss,”Lieutenant. Are you all right, Lieutenant?”
~Dr. T’Pris
It took some shaking. Darklis was dreaming. She was back home visiting on a leave which surprised her. Why would she have done that? Who would have been there to welcome her after her departure as she did? The house seemed empty with one corridor, no, hall. You’re home. They are halls at home, not corridors. But the hall seemed to keep going. Each one looking the same. But where was everyone? It all looked bleached of color. The carpets. The wallpaper. The artwork. That one had been hers. An old sailing ship, a ghost ship that sailed with tattered sails under a moon shadowed in the cloud. That was the only one with the color to it. She walked up to it. It looked almost like it was moving in the choppy waters.
A footfall behind her. The floorboard always creaked at the entrance to the living room. You could tell who it was by the weight and sound. This was mother. Darklis turned. Her mother was there. But not. She too was bleached of color, her hair stringy and matted with implants. Borg. And she was carrying a plate of freshly baked cookies. She could smell them. Another sound from a hall. Costi. Her brother came in from the side entry. A glistening laser device at the side of his head touched her. She felt it, like a touch. “Cookie, dear?” Darklis looked at the plate. The chocolate chips were now rising like grey worms, nano tubes. Costi was eating one of the cookies. She could hear others approaching. She screamed and ran …
Dradvia woke and immediately recognized that she had been drugged. Panic set in, making her pulse and blood pressure go up. Adrenaline coursed through her helping her wake up. Years of practice allowed her to stay still and breathe deeply as if still asleep. She listened to the space around her. She heard one other person’s breathing near her over her pounding heart. The floor was hard and temperature warmer than standard. Slowly she mentally examined her body and found no physical ailments beyond soreness from being stiff and sore from being tossed around. She was still groggy though.
Next she heard the soft buzz of a forcefield. They had been captured! She heard a voice from across the room. Lt?
Dradvia opened her eyes carefully and looked around. They were not on a Star Fleet vessel. It didn’t look like any Orion ship she had ever been on. That wasn’t an indication though…
The green tinged metal reminded her of kids of old Romulan ships. She turned her head toward the voice and saw Dr. T’Pris in a cell across from her, but she couldn’t make out the other person. She turned her head the other way to identify who was with her. A slumped body in medical green. Judging by the hair it was Conway.
She cursed silently. Both doctors in one cell. They were no good to anyone. Her eyes scanned the room, a standard cell. She glanced outside rhe field to see if there were any guards present. But still she laid still, barely moving.
What did they want? Why did they take them? Had they been attacked? Where was the Wolverine? What were they going to do to them? She couldn’t live through this again!
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
And screamed, suddenly sitting up, her eyes wide with terror. Dradvia would be able to identify her now. Her chest heaving Darklis still saw the image of her brother taking a bite of the cookie, worm like tubes beckoning, though as she blinked a few times that image faded. Her head hurt. Her brain was foggy, like the mists that the ship she had painted was sailing through. The decking was cool. Metal. No carpeting. The air smelled strange. A hand was on her shoulder. Still affected by the dream she started and crab walked back to the wall. It took her some moments before she saw it was T’Pris. Facing her she looked around with her eyes. It was evidently a cell. Struggling to recall what happened her shaking hand came up to touch where the hypo had touched.
Dradvia’s eyes snapped open at the scream and she sat up. She steadied herself with a hand on the floor. The medicine made her head spin. It would wear off though. She bit back her angry, panicked outburst of telling them to shut up and be quiet. Don’t draw attention. That wasn’t fair though. This was frightening, she remembered, all too well. She wanted to scream and cry, but she didn’t want to draw their jailor’s attention. She looked more fully around her cell.
When the dizziness passed she slowly rolled to her knees and used the bed to steady herself as she stood up. She took long, deep, cleansing breaths. The more oxygen the better.
T’Pris recognized the other woman’s panic and did not follow her across the cell,”Darklis, it’s T’Pris. It’s alright, we are currently in no immediate danger.”
Her back to the wall, Darklis tucked her legs up with her arms around them both for a sense of security and to cover her still shaking fingers.
“Where are we?” she asked. Her mouth was dry. It came out raspy to her ears. Looking through the door she saw across from them two others. Dradvia and another. Her same hand rose further to her head. A bump on the side. Where she had fallen? Where she had been dropped? She remembered the word ‘Now’. That was a good word for the present too. She winced at the touch of the bump, sparks crossing her eyes. “Ouch.” Unfocused eyes tried focusing on T’Pris. “Are you okay?” She was trying to make her voice even but it was not so easy. She was scared.
- Darklis, CSO“I am fine though you appear to have suffered a bit of a contusion there.” T’Pris looked across to Dravdia.” Are you alright, Doctor? We appear to be on a Romulan vessel. The fortunate thing about Romulan vessels is they are made generically. The Romulans seem to like to reuse a good pattern when they find one.” She said to both of them.
“I did not see who knocked me out specifically but I believe it was one of the Marines.”~Dr. T’Pris
“Just some bumps and stiffness. Conway is here with me as well. He’s still out.” Romulans? Romulans had dealing with the Orions in general and the Syndicate. What did they want? Her breath quickened and she felt panic try to set in. She shook her head and gritted her teeth. Later, she would panic later. “Where is the contusion? T’Pris, are Darklis’ eyes dilating in the light?”
“It is on the side of her head. Her pupils do not appear blown and are reacting to the light. Are you nauseous, Darklis?”
Darklis closed her eyes to self assess. “Sitting like this and being still. No.” She moved her head, shaking it gently. “If I shake my head I get a bit swimmy but not nauseous. Might still be the drug. More disoriented and dizzy but I don’t feel nauseous.” She took a breath. “Got a serious case of butterflies in the gut though.”
“I felt a hypo. Then everything went blank,” she offered. “Why us?” she blurted out. Her fingers traced up to the bump. There was a trace of blood left but it had died; it felt crusty where it matted with her hair around that point. She wanted a brush to smooth it out. She must look a mess. Oh gods, did she drool when she was out? A sleeve brushed along her mouth. “We’re medical. Science. What’s the point? We’re not exactly brimming with state secrets.” She took a long breath dropping her forehead to her knees and breathed. A dozen smart remarks floated about in her mind, none of them useful, but some wondering how T’Pris had gotten guided tours on a Romulan ship. “What is a Romulan ship like?” she asked, which was more inferring to asking what were Romulans like?
- Darklis“Marines. I remember. They were waiting in sickbay, just hanging around. I thought they just didn’t want to report an injury. I saw them come up behind us right before I felt the hypo. You need to take deep breaths, stretch as much as possible without getting dizzy. Don’t change your height too drastically incase you have a concussion.”
Darklis nodded, listening. As much as she wanted to be independent in a sense this was not the time. If she had been alone she’d be freaking out, she knew. Looking about the small cell she showed nervousness in her body language but one limb by limb she stretched as she was told. It didn’t really make her feel any better but it did give her mind something to focus on while she listened to the others.
“We are still Starfleet officers, which is all they might have been after. Tradable, perhaps.” T’Pris mused.”Romulans never do anything without an end game in mind. And their ships tend to be very dark and brutal. Even among each other there is a deadly competition going on all the time. A Romulan officer has to always be mindful of his underlings motives and ulterior plots or he will get stabbed in the back by one of them. It is a constant atmosphere of underlying anxiety.” T’Pris’ dark eyes took on a haunted look as if she was recalling a specific memory and she spoke from experience, as if she had been one of those officers.
~Dr. T’Pris
There was something in T’Pris’ tone that suggested something else was going on but it was not the time to bring that up. Her small description sent shivers through her to begin with without going into any other sordid details. “I thought that was just Klingons who worked that way.” That was an absent minded remark but for Klingons she had some nodding familiarity. Very nodding. Romulans she had none. Well, as she glanced about the cell. Next to none.
“It does no good to speculate on what they want. We’ll find out soon enough. They will tell us if they actually talk to us. Or we’ll find out when whatever plans they have for us, happen. The best thing to do right now is to wait and not draw attention to ourselves.” THe longer their captor stayed away the healthier they stayed.
Ens. Dradvia, Medical Officer
“Agreed,” T’Pris said and did not inform the other two of the various interrogation techniques which were not pleasant in the least.
~Dr. T’Pris
Her brows furrowed as she slowly shifted to her feet. A moment of vertigo came and passed. Who would have thought that she’d have considered standing up a victory. And that not even after a night of her Uncle Anton’s punch. It was a family joke and expectation that he would bring his own victual from his still that he had tucked away in a small hunting shack in the woods - how stereotypical!!! - and spiked the punch that Auntie Emilia had brought. Everyone knew they were in kahootz with each other on that but still they acted like it was such a surprise that the punch had been spiked. Right now she could use a big glass full of it! Maybe she should get a still going in the lab or her quarters. The way they talked it seemed they expected bad things to happen. The thoughts of historical happenings against her people were many and varied and little of it was good so it was easy for her mind to go to those things. Slowly she began to slowly pace to work out the kinks and, hopefully, walk off her nervousness.
- DarklisT’Pris stood by ready to assist if Darklis stumbled as the other woman made her way to her feet and began to walk around. She appeared to have no trouble though so T’Pris turned her attention to the other two cells again.
“Dr. Dradvia, is Dr. Conway coming around? Is that the Captain over there?” She asked barely being able to see who was in the 3rd cell by themselves, laying with their face turned away so she couldn’t see who it was. But by the build of the body, she thought it might be the Captain. Oh dear, she thought, if the Romulans had the Captain they were in trouble.~Dr. T’Pris
Almost as if on cue, David struggled to a sitting position. Whether by intention or by coincidence, he’d received a somewhat stronger dose of the sedative, and he was still only partially conscious. He slowly looked around, taking note of those in the cell across from him, then winced as a biting headache started throbbing behind his right eye. While still groggy, he was functional enough by this point to take full stock of the situation. We’re prisoners of the Imperial Saber, which means their infiltration goes deeper than we planned for. “Alright-” he was cut off by a brief fit of coughs, then regained his composure, “sound off. Who’s here and awake?”
Commander David Morris
Commanding OfficerT’Pris sighed in relief when the Captain rose and began to cough. He was alive at least,” Dr. T’Pris, Civilian here, sir.” She said letting the others speak for themselves.
~Dr. T’Pris
It had been as regular day in sick bay as it could have been.
Then everything had gone blurry and dark. He could have sworn he’d heard voices but he couldn’t be sure, for all he knew he’d fallen asleep at his station and was dreaming of something. Next thing he knew, he was horizontal and something underneath him was cold and uncomfortable. He tried to speak but there were no words coming out. He tried to move but just couldn’t. He tried to open his eyes but didn’t have the energy.
The voices kept getting louder, and he was almost certain he heard someone coughing. He wanted to scream for help but every time he tried, noise just couldn’t escape his lips. He was honestly terrified, he was going to die and he didn’t even know how he was going to die. It sucked. He always assumed he’d go out helping people, not falling asleep at his station.
No.
He wasn’t going to die.
With all of his effort, the young doctor forced his eyes open. They were hardly in focus, but he was sure he could make out Dradvia. It almost confirmed his theory that he’d just fallen asleep at his station. He’d been working a lot of night shifts recently, it was bound to happen. What he couldn’t explain however was why everything underneath him felt cold and metallic.
He tried to speak, but instead just let out a cough that very quickly became a coughing fit. He took a few seconds after he stopped coughing and allowed the world to come back into focus. He most definitely wasn’t at his station in sick bay on the Wolverine. He actually wasn’t sure where he was. That scared him even more. How had he and Dradvia magically teleported whilst he’d been asleep?
The young doctor forced himself to sit up, not realising the amount of energy it would take out of him. Almost immeditely he slumped against the wall, coughing again. He leaned his head back and took a breath.
“Where… where are we?” he asked weakly.
