David walked out of the ready room, the exhaustion and stress of the first mission fully under his command evident in the circles under his eyes. “Ops, please obtain clearance to depart from Starbase Operations. Helm, plot a course to the Ragnar, prepare to take us away from dock at 1/4 impulse and engage at maximum warp.” He settled into the command chair. =/\= “Attention all hands,” he announced, “We are preparing to leave spacedock. Please secure your belongings and take your stations.” =/\=

“Clearance obtained, sir,” NE Olson at Ops reported. Here we go.

“Disengage docking clamps. Helm, 1/4 impulse on my mark,” he paused, “and mark. Take us to the edge of the system and engage.”

Commander David Morris
Commanding Officer

Alita watched as the departure was smoothly handled by the helmsman. She was very proud to be the first officer of this ship. Hopefully, she would be old and gray and still serving her. Perhaps, as the ships chef.

  • Alita, XO/MO

The Helmsman was off in a land all of his own. He was daydreaming about his name. Stephen, with an ‘ph’. The ‘ph’ was important. He always reminded people of that. It denoted status. Status among all the Stephens of the universe, including....the others. He wouldn’t dare name them. He wasn’t some pleb. He scoffed at the Stevens with a ‘v’- or the v’s as he called them. He daydreamed of the day where he would one day rule all Stephens, including those of the lower class (the Stevens). He pictured himself with a crown on his head, the crown of Stephen, THE Stephen, the one to lead them all to victory in their endless war on those..... His thoughts were interrupted Who dares interrupt the might Stephen! He thought to himself, then snapped back to reality as he realised it was the Captain…Commander. He was present enough to hear the orders.
“Aye Sir, plotting a course for the Ragnar. Speed, 1/4 impulse. Ready on your mark Sir.” The Jons, they would be next. He thought to himself and smiled an evil grin as he tapped away at the console.

Jon, at ops was blissfully unaware of the intrusive and dark thoughts of Stephen at the Helm. He tapped a few commands on the console and Starbase Ops replied with the go ahead.
“We’re all clear for heading out on your mark Sir.” Jon stated.

GM Budgie

“Engage,” David confirmed. “Best possible speed.”

Commander David Morris
Commanding Officer

Stephen nodded and tapped the big button on the console infront of him.
“Aye Sir.” Stephen replied. The docking clamps released and the ship moved away. Stephen expertly navigated the ship away from the Starbase and engaged warp 8. The Wolverine disappeared from the view of the Starbase.

GM Budgie

Alita eyed the helmsman curiously, then shook her head. It was probably nothing.

  • Alita, XO/MO

Stephen then suddenly realised he had neglected to provide an eta, he silently cursed. It was the Steven’s fault. Making him forget things.
“Sir, our ETA to rendezvous with the USS Ragnar is 12 hours.” He stated.

GM Budgie

12 hours later, the Wolverine exited warp at the location of the Ragnar. The ship was still trying to recover from the power outing. Stephen stretched before turning to the Commander.
“Sir, we’ve arrived at the Ragnar. Looks like she’s in rough shape.” He stated.

GM Budgie

“Open a channel,” David said. =/\= “Ragnar, this is Commander David Morris of the Wolverine. Can we send a team over to investigate, and do you need any engineering support?” =/\=

He glanced over to Alita. “I’ll have you lead the team. Take Sisnil and a couple marines, anyone else is up to you.”

Commander David Morris
Commanding Officer

Alita nodded and began to gear up.

=^=Zoi, Cel, I need you and two Marines, CSO to transporter room to in 10 minutes. Gear up people we’re moving out.=^=

Alita entered the lift and sent a quick text to the CMO, report to transporter room to in 10 minutes.

  • Alita, XO/MO

There was no response from Sisnil, but upon arriving in the transporter room, the Betazoid was already there. “Alita.” He greeted, politely but stiffly.

~ Zoi

Captain Hildebrand heard the call for the transporter room.
“Cole, I’ll go over with T’Plak. You stay here and hold the fort.” He said frankly and motioned for T’Plak to follow him. Cole made to object but the Captain had already left. He gave T’Plak a look as she followed the Captain.

Hildebrand and T’Plak arrived in the transporter room not long after Sisnil.
“Commander. Civilian.” The Captain said, stepping onto the transporter pad with T’Plak.

GM Budgie

Cel arrived and headed to the padd. He nodded at Alita and the rest of the team, adjusted his phaser and tricorder on his belt and took his place on the transporter padd.

-Cel

Sisnil gave a look to the Captain. “If you’re trying to insult me, you’re going to have to try harder. Now grow up.” He commented cooly. Being called a civilian wasn’t insulting, but Sisnil could sense the intent behind the word.

~ Zoi

Hilderbrand scoffed at that and just ignored him. He didn’t respond to Syndicate scum, especially honourless pirates.

Alita nodded and gave slight smiles all around. She listened to the exchange between Sisnil and the Marine Captain with a bit of distaste. Glancing she rebuked them sharply.

“Gentleman, there’ll be no more of that. I’m quite certain of that because as we transport over there I’m going to have the transporter shed all of your egos. So, are we done? We have more important things to do than soothe your Savage egos.”

  • Alita, XO/MO

Darklis was mixed on emotion with this exchange. It was nothing more than her experience of sibling rivalry and spats. The mix was seeing it here which was quite unusual. Even on the more informal Matrix there was a place for disagreement. She sighed. Boys will be boys, she thought. Even here. That said, she felt the exchange was rather amateur for a spat.

Sisnil was quiet for a moment - gathering himself as if irritated. “I don’t believe I said anything out of line, Commander,” he said. The rank was said condescendingly. “Control your crew and tell them to keep their yaps shut.”

~ Zoi

Hilderbrand turned to T’Plak.
“The outsider scum is a bit tetchy today. Maybe he’ll cheer up a bit when we’re on the Ragnar.” He stated matter-of-factly. T’Plak just raised an eyebrow, insults were illogical to her.

The XO had already said to stow it. It seemed some were slow to do so. Standing on the transporter pad, Darklis felt rather invisible in the group as they sparred for position, whatever position that was. Inside she felt this an ample distraction. She was nervous and fidgeted on the pad. Perhaps that could be taken to be a matter of not being happy with the exchange but really this was a ‘mission’ and she was quite green for those. She checked her tricorder for operation, idly scanning the person in front of her, again to mask her nervousness.

Sisnil shrugged, “Everything you say only reflects back on you.”

When everyone had gathered the transporter Chief tapped the required commands. He just couldn’t believe he was getting to transport AGAIN. He both hated and loved his job. It could be boring at times but he lived for the feeling of transporting people. He slid his fingers up the console and giggled with glee as they disappeared.

Why did the transporter chief just .. giggle? was her last thought as she disappeared from the pad.

They all rematerialized on the Ragnar, in the transporter room. They were greeted by an Andorian Commander, Atob Ch’kihliq, the first Officer. He smiled as he saw the group.

“Welcome to the Ragnar. We’ve been expecting you.” He scanned the group with his eyes and smiled, though his smile left his face and almost glared as it passed over Sisnil. Quick as flash his smile was back. Did Sisnil imagine it?
“Please, come aboard. I’m sure you’re all anxious to know what happened.

GM Budgie

If you have the answers to that why couldn’t you transmit it? Darklis thought. T’Pris would have commented about the ‘inefficiency’ of this. As much as eyes on the task was good things that could be transmitted in a status report would have been much easier. Then everyone would be on the same page even before arriving. DC would have to bring that one up. Didn’t anyone on the bridge think of that?

Sisnil was getting tired of these fleet types and their attitude. Still, he kept control of himself. “That’s why we’re here.” He said, slightly stiffly.

~ Zoi

It was at that moment T’Plak burst into action, she tapped her uniform, clearly a hidden commbadge.
“Now.” She said menacingly. She pulled out a hypo-spray and used it on Darkliss, T’Plak grabbed her and transported away. At the same time Atob attempted to intervene but he was too late. Darkliss, was gone.

GM Budgie

Now? Now what? Was all she had time to think before a hypo hissed at her neck. “Oh,” was all she said as a transporter whisked her away but then she was not aware of anything anyway at that point.
