David sat at his desk, having already gone through several mugs of tea in the past hour. Paperwork was evidently never-ending, and this latest request…

He didn’t have a particular problem with it, but logistics might be an issue, and most importantly, why?
Finishing out the rest of this morning’s stack, he sent off a quick message to Sisnil asking to meet at his convenience to discuss this.

Sisnil arrived in the office without so much as a knock and plopped down in a seat. “See, I didn’t think you’d say no, so I chose to use the proper channels.” Sisnil said, grinning. “Otherwise, I’d have altered the shipping documents and that would be that.”

“There’d have still existed the question that arose of ‘why is there a new cat on the ship’, but anyway, I’m not going to turn it down point blank. Why and how?”

“Because I want one, and easy, it’s all there on the request. Do those things have a point if you didn’t read it?” Sisnil was clearly having a bit of fun. “I did all the leg work. Just need your a-okay to add it onto the shipping manifests.” He shrugged, “And, if you turn it down, I’m absolutely going to do it anyway, so you might as well say yes now and save us both the trouble.”

“Fine,” David said, laughing. “I’ll approve it, but you will have to take care of it. There’s not as much leisure space as on the bigger ships, and we need our hallways clear, so make sure it stays in your quarters. Out of curiosity, why a cat specifically?”

“One of my crew had one some years ago. I like them.” Sisnil said. And Dee likes them too, but he didn’t mention that part. The rest of what he said went in one ear and put the other. Of course Sisnil would care for it. “It’ll… Y’know, make me like it here more… Or whatever. Just sign the the thing.”

“You’ll get your authorization - Command can’t object and I don’t have a problem with it. Was there anything else you need - Both right now and on the ship in general?”
