“Correct, sir,” David said, stepping off the turbolift a minute after Alita. “There were also logs from three days ago by the Pythagoras’s medical officer, a man by the name of David Bartley. They were treating a Kein female named Weena at the time of the log.”

Alita nodded and smiled slightly. She was happy to let David take over the conversation while she worked.

“Unfortunately it can be anywhere but we can try.” Mikel answered.

“Computer run self diagnostic. Checikng your intership com channel did you detect and intrusion to the coms system and is that intrusion located anywhere else in the ships systems to include your own system?” He asked.

=^= Negative. No inter ship intrusions were detected. All utilizations of Wolverine communications internal and external for the past standard day have all been verified as authentic. =^=

“This is going to be fun....” The Captain groaned. Bryson shook his head, then turned to look at the Petrov. “I’m open to ideas, Commander because we just got trojan horsed…” Captain Erin stated.

“And you didn’t find any logs regarding that thing?” The CO asked the COS, referring to whatever might be running through the ship’s systems at the moment.

“No sir. And the best way to find such a thing might be to manually dig through the logs. Of course that is also the most tedious way to do it.” Alita explained.

” I doubt digging through a ships logs that failed to stop it from happening is the best way to solve the problem.” Petrov said.

“Computer set up system roadblocks at all junctures to critical ship functions. Any anomaly no matter how insignificant that is detected reported to me. Run with the premises that the ship has a virus in its systems and is dormant. This includes your system.”

Mikel knew if the computer was compromised in some way to “lie” this would not help. However he would also have his team do this manually. Which would take hours but if they detected something and the computer did not then it would mean it was infected and acting against the ship. He grabbed the other engineer on the bridge. Gave him his instructions verbally and sent him to Engineering.

Mikel found himself, in all strangeness, missing the old CO. For all his stupidity and quirkiness then man had grown on him. Not that he would ever admit that.

Captain Erin paced the Bridge while the computer went to work doing its thing. Bryson felt as if they were in the waiting stage now. They had a team on the ground, another investigating a nearby Jem’Hadar ship, and a third checking out the holosuite for whatever may have gotten into the ship’s systems. The CO looked from Petrov, to the COS, and then to the Counselor, but remained quiet for the moment.

It appeared that the nearby warring factions continued to keep their distance for now, which was a good sign, but the imagination could only assume one of the sides had more information.

“I think they used to call this a Russian Stand off.” Mikel remarked.

Most would call it a Mexican Stand Off from a very old saying in antiquity of the 21st century. However Mikel knew better. It was a Russian saying.
