Sharise smiled sincerely. “Then that’s what you will get. My door will always be open to you, even if that means I’m off-duty. If you need me, call.”
“Now, if it’s okay with you, since you’re here, I thought we could flip the conversation a bit and discuss some things you should know about me. But we can schedule an appointment in Sickbay if you prefer.” Ayla knew it was important to have this conversation either way.

“I do not mind which, Counselor. It is completely up to your own comfort.” Greve shook her head, hardly minding where they spoke of these things. Leaning forwards, she rested a forearm on the base of on left knee, which was placed over the right, a sign of her attention and consideration. “Go on,” she smiled, invitingly.

CMOAyla breathed deeply, calming herself and nodded. “I don’t know if you’re familiar with my medical file, but it’s… interesting. Twice I’ve been subjected to a telepathic attack and the second and most recent time left me in a coma for three years. After finally waking up and going through extensive mental and physical rehab, I went back to duty even though I was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder. The Wolverine is my first assignment since the attack.” She paused very briefly to gather her thoughts. “My PTSD is under control, as much as it can be but I was still experiencing symptoms, including insomnia and intense moments of recall, mostly at night. I discovered early on that the sonic shower pulses were very relaxing and I’d not only be relaxed enough to sleep, I’d actually fall asleep in the shower,” she said with a slight embarrassed smile. “I wanted to warn you about that since we share a washroom (OOO: this was decided awhile ago due to the Wolverine’s specs). However, for reasons I will tell you in a moment, I haven’t had an episode like that in a little while. But I wanted to be upfront with you, because not only is my PTSD something I have shared with the senior staff openly, but we share some of our personal space and it’s very likely you’ll see any lingering symptoms more than others on the ship.”

“I understand,” And she did, hardly begrudging the counselor for the fact that she dealt with PTSD. She understood the need to find a way to calm oneself, and a sonic shower could easily do just that. “Thank you, for telling me. Is there anything in specific I can do to help, in case you have one of these attacks?” She inquired, just in case the woman ever needed something. Greve was a doctor, not someone who would generally be in a position of any sense of counselling. However, she was another person, which could be just support or an extra hand if Sharise needed it.

“Wake me and send me to bed?” Ayla said with amusement. “Mostly right now things are level, but I’m not sure how permanent that will last of even if I should let it be permanent.”
With a heavy sigh, Sharise sat back. “Our Chief Intelligence Officer is telepathic and we were helping each other work through our issues together. We did a mind meld and he placed what you could call a block around the memories surrounding my last attack. The idea is that they are there but if I can detach from the memories themselves, then I won’t have the PTSD symptoms. And so far it seems like it’s worked. But I haven’t been put into a position to test my reaction in a similar setting.” That the other symptoms had been lessened or removed were helping her overall though, so that was a significant improvement.
