<snip>At this point Alita simply didn’t know what to do. Her mind was running through possibilities. How this could have happened and what it might mean. For now she just stayed quiet. What a weird feeling ti was being in the body of a boy.
- Alita, MO/COS
Celador was also very uncomfortable. He reached up to touch his hair and realized that he had pointed ears too. Was he part K’Mar too? He looked at Alita with wide eyes as he felt his ears.
-Cel
Alita looked at Cel again and raised her eyebrows in surprise. He wasn’t completely her and she probably wasn’t completely him.
“Ok so, this is just too bizarre but I’m certain if anyone can get us back to normal it’s our crack engineering staff. I mean I know Chief Petrov hates to fail at anything you know? Can I leave now?” she asked.
She was tired of standing on the transporter pad like some strange decoration.
- Alita, MO/COS
“I suggest they all go to medical captain and they be taken off duty until we can know the extent of the changes and the effects they might have.” Petrov said quickly.
Remy breathed a partial sigh of relief when Ayla and Bryson came through the transporter room doors. thank goodness they both seemed to be okay. He would need their skills even more so now that half his security crew and CIO were. . .incapacitated.
Looking back to the transporter pad, he absently reached out and accepted the data chip from Ayla.
When Lenore arrived, he replied to her. “We ‘ave a situ-SHON, Dr. Mantis. . . . escort de lieutenants to Sickbay an’ run a full physical. Along wit’ de obvious. . . I wan’ dem checked from ‘ead-to-toe.”
OOC: Just pasting this post in. –Terry
OOC: Did I not do it right again? It looked right when I posted it....sorry. –Diana
IC: “Aye Captain, right away Sir!” The bewildered Doctor practically shouted as she followed the strange looking Lieutenants to the door. Wondering to herself where even to begin the examination and hoping they both still had their toes.
Ensign Mantis,
DoctorAs if snapping out of a daze, the captain refocused his thoughts. “Cmdr Erin, I need you to double as ‘ead of Security for de time being. Petrov, analyze everytine you can to fix dis and den perform anodder miracle. Lt. Sharise, join me in de ready room to go over dis chip.”
One he figured he was right. There might be other things wrong with them that could be dangerous to their health. Second it effectively left the COS at his pleasure. She would have no power to act and her being cured was in his hands to some degree. Anything could happen.
Petrov CE
Bryson looked at the pair once more; there was nothing he could do in the moment to assist them. He nodded at the two, and then turned to make his way back to the Bridge.
Erin (XO)
it was true that Alita felt very strange in this boy’s body. There were things about the male gender she just didn’t understand until that very moment. It wasn’t just the body that felt strange to her, her perceptions seemed to be off the charts. It was like she was sensing emotions from all around and, if she concentrated hard enough, she could isolate them with difficulty. Looking at Petrov made her heart skip a beat and also produced an adrenalin surge. She had just realized how much he disliked her and how much he might be laughing at the situation internally. The only things she could really count on was that Petrov did not like to fail and Remy wouldn’t like it very much if he did.
‘Oh thank you K’Mar.’ she thought.
“The chief is probably right. I never thought I’d be so happy to see the inside of sickbay. Come on Cel, let’s get out of here and let him work.” she said heading towards the door.
- Alita, MO/COS
Cel nodded, he too felt weird about this whole thing. He hoped he wasn’t stuck this way forever. Sighing, he followed Alita out the door towards medical.
-Cel
Shaidi managed to catch up with the Ensign and the COS. “What exactly is going on, Chief?” She asked the COS, giving a nod towards the Ensign, as they seemed to be heading back to medical, where she expected she could assist them in some way.
Dr. Shaidi
Remy heard Greve’s voice before the transporter room doors closed. He considered making a joke about the doctor having to double as a babysitter, but thought better of it for the time being.
Without another word, he took Ayla by the elbow and made for the Ready Room.
Boudreaux (CO)
It was at that moment, members of Away Team A felt a strange odd sensation in their stomachs.
GM
Ayla grimaced a bit, but she pushed the strange sensation out of her mind’s focus and waved the chip at him. “Coordinates. It’s risky, but I do think we should go there. Prepared, of course. But my contact seemed genuine.”
Lt. Sharise, CNS
Petrov let the idiots dance around and leave. He then grimaced at the Captain, lead idiot, remark. Another miracle my behind. Tuning out the distractions he concentrated on the buffer readings to see if there was anything inside that would help.
Petrov CE
Petrov found that the microcellular scan failed during the transportation cycle and a clean lock was not achieved. The transporter chief had to override safety protocols to force the materialization process. The buffer readings looked confused, as if for one moment, the three members of the away team were one person temporarily and then was subsequently separated after.
Remy stopped in his tracks and reached out to support Ayla. “Cher? You are no’ well?,” he asked, deep concern in his voice.
Boudreaux (CO)
Ayla frowned slightly. “I’m okay. Just feel a little off. Lets uh, get to the bridge and I can pass off this chip.”
OOC: Just tying us into the bridge thread so things can be done with the info. I missed that Remy has the chip now.
Lt. Sharise, CNS
GM
Petrov could report the finding immediately but did not have a solution yet. Plus it might be advantageous not to work too quickly. Several of the mixed up crewmen were not on his good list and this was an unique opportunity that he needed to think on.
Petrov CE
Mikel opened up an engineering panel on the board in the transporter room. He then began to research how it was possible to return the officers to their original ..configuration.
He ran a sim to see if just taking their original stored scans from previous transports and then beaming them into the buffer and reenergizing them would fix the issue. He awaited the results.
Petrov CE
The simulation predicted a 50% success under current environmental conditions. The computer notated that the conditions the transporter would work if they weren’t infected or additional factors were added. The computer also noted that there was a 75% chance of partial memory loss. Effectively, Petrov would be destroying the existing “team” and re-energizing the old “team.” It would also take a considerable amount of power and computational resources. The computer predicted in the simulation that if every current computational resource and the majority of excess power that was brought onboard in order to get them to and from the Delta Quadrant, and the ship operations didn’t require to fully maintain life support, deflectors or shields, it would work and without memory loss. The reason behind it was the computer had to re-write every DNA molecule and effectively sort the molecules into three piles that made up the away team and then reconstruct based on pattern history to re-integrate them and transport them back to normal.
GM
Petrov thought it was acceptable in a couple of scenarios. Memory loss might be ok. After all it was just memory. However the computer resources needed were not ok. His main goal was to return home and to his time line. So the fact that this would endanger that goal meant it was not an option yet. Not even one he cared to share with the CO or XO at this time. He would just suggest cutting a couple out of the process and leaving them the way they are. However they were all mixed up and probably each one had a little of everyone mixed in so that was not an option either.

=^= Petrov to the Captain.=^=
=^=- I currently cannot reverse the process. I need medical to look everyone over and conduct scans. Then I can check those scans with the trasnporter buffer system and see where we differ and what I can do.=^=
Petrov was not telling a lie. It was rather a delaying action. He probably did not need the medical info but it would not hurt. His main goal was to buy more time until he could figure out how to turn this to his advantage and maybe even eliminate a few problems as well.
