Alita knew there was something wrong as soon as they appeared int he transporter room. The room looked different somehow. Maybe a bit bigger, or was she smaller. She certainly didn’t feel like herself.

Celador also knew that something was wrong the moment the transporter beam finished. The room looked smaller, a lot smaller. What happened?

‘Something is wrong, what did your crazy contraption do this time?’ Squared asked Celador as he tried to get his bearings on what happened. What had changed?

Opening her mouth to speak she didn’t recognize the voice that came out only emitting a small croak. She reached up to feel her throat wondering if she had been injured somehow. Glancing down, she realized a very noticable part of her anatomy was missing. The situation was already making her heart beat faster along with the chroniton issues she was already facing. Turning this way and that she finally caught sight of herself in the reflection from one of the monitors. It didn’t look like her at all except, of course, the green eyes and red hair. What the hell was she doing in a body of what looked like a twelve year old boy? Turning aorund so no-one could see her, she thought of what this might mean.

He heard a soft sounding croak from his right and turned to look at his COS, or what he thought was his Chief of Security. Except it wasn’t her. Was he looking into a mirror reflection of himself when he was a teenager? But he didn’t have green eyes or red hair.

‘What the hell?’ Squared said, with Celador echoing that statement mentally. He looked down and saw two mounds in his chest that wasn’t there before. He was also alot shorter then he normally was. He looked back at what looked very similar to his 12 year old self and it dawned on him. His face, her face he didn’t know, drained of emotion as the reality of it all hit him like a ton of bricks.

‘I always wondered what it would be like to see your society from your feminine genders point of view.’ Squared commented while laughing in Cel’s mind.

“Ew ew ew EW! FIX IT! OH MY GOD! Do I really sound like that? Somebody please fix it! Make me shut up! Cel, you have my… And I have your… EWWWW!”

He turned to look at her, him, he wasn’t sure.

“I have yours.... and… You have my? Oh well shit…” He stammered back in rather feminine voice that sounded a lot like Alita. It wasn’t like him either to act so, unprepared. The shock of the change and who he had changed into was well, a lot to take in.

Normally Alita would not have behaved in this manner but these were not normal circumstances.

Alita, MO/COS

-Cel

OOC: Dark hair but that’s the least of Cel’s worries.

Catt

The Captain, the CE and Commander Wells, as well as any other members of the Bridge crew arrived in the Transporter Room. With addition of anyone called from Sickbay.

Wells was present out of curiosity.. as a Scientist, she didn’t know what useful information she could provide but… transporter accidents, whilst rare, this one sounded quite unusual.

GM

Remy stopped immediately as he stepped into the room. His eyes grew wide and his jaw dropped. His gaze went back and forth between Alita and Cel numerous times before he was finally able to speak.

“Mon Dieu, que diable est arrivé? Petrov, check de transporter.”

He turned to the officer manning the controls? What ‘appened? Did de oder team make it back safely?”

“That is the away team… Captain,” said the officer manning the transporter station, “We had interference transporting out. Alien shielding went up and that caused problems during transport.”

=^=Dr. Shaidi, you are needed in transporter room one, IMMEDIATELY!!=^=

Boudreaux (CO)

At the sight of Remy and Petrov Alita stopped her yammering and looked down. This had to be one of the top five worst moments of her life. She glared at Petrov, transporters were his domain weren’t they? If she had to continue her life as a twelve year old, she hoped, at least, to get her own body back completely.

  • Alita, MO/COS

Petrov was stunned for a few seconds too. He did not know to laugh or stare in horror. As he went to the transporter a thought hit him. Getting rid of a 12 year old COS might be easier than a full grown and more damgerous one. Maybe if he saw how to fix the machine he could help the others but not the COS. It was an option if the moment presented itself. First things were first. He ran a diagnostic over the machine and the last use of it.

Petrov CE

Petrov found that the transporter was well maintained and working within normal parameters. A lock had failed to hold during the away team’s emergency transport while they were in mid-transportation, and the logs indicated severe interference from an unknown source, likely the alien station’s shields, causing unintended side effects. If Petrov were to access the ship’s sensors, the alien Starbase’s shield technology was unlike anything the Federation ever encountered. It didn’t seem to operate on known principles of forcefields.

Cel, in Alita’s 12 year old body, felt embarresed. He felt a surge of emotions run through him, he wanted to hide, run, retreat. He looked down at the ground, kind of shuffled his feet, slowly inching back, away from the group.

-Cel

OOC: Chris, it should be noted that it’s not a full body switch. More like you have certain borrowed elements of other members of the away team – gender, abilities, appearances, race, personalities… Think Tuvix (Voyager) but still retaining your own mind. I’m going to void the part where you say, “Cel, in Alita’s 12 year old body” – it would be more accurately described as something like, “Cel, taking some form of Alita’s 12 year old body but as if Alita was Orion yet still retaining most of his facial features… except his eyes looked like Lt. Ahearn’s.” (Again, I’m leaving it to your discretion to broaden the elements of the switch)

Imagine it more like, if Cel, Alita and Ahearn were three piles of cards, and all those cards had different attributes. Shuffle all those cards together, and then spit them out into three even piles. Some of those cards would be in the same original piles they started with, but a great deal of them, would not.

GM

OOC: Reading back, apparently I’m slightly confused on who was on which team.

The away team members were:
Commander Bryson Erin (A)
Lieutenant Alita Claire (B)
Lieutenant Ayla Sharise (A)
Lieutenant K’Mar (?)
Lieutenant (j.g.) Draddok Ahearn (?)
Ensign Celador Theinna (B)

Was K’Mar on A or B? Because Ahearn is on the other team of K’Mar.

GM

OOC: K’Mar was on team B, but Jules had to step down, so Alita stepped in in his place. Ahearn was actually with us on Team A.

OOC: Ah. For the sake of fun, and be able to mix a little more DNA in the mix, let’s just say K’Mar among recovered, but remained unconscious after the transporter did its thing. Because only human DNA makes it not as interesting.

IC:
Ayla arrived a moment later, after re-routing back to find the CO. Stepping into the transporter room, her hazel eyes widened. “Well, that’s a new one,” she said for a moment, taking in Team B’s rather unfortunate situation.

With difficulty, she pried her gaze away and focused on Remy. “Captain, I hate to interrupt the crisis, but I have this,” she said, holding up a data chip. “It has coordinates that the merchant gave me for a supposed rendezvous. Whether we can trust them or not is debatable, but he seemed genuine to me and worried about being overheard. I think it’s worth pursuing.”

Lt. Sharise, CNS

GM

OOC: Yella t the CE once and you’re dangerous. Oh my! Bad ice bear. LOL

“Captain the equipment is working fine. I will need to get with Science to go over what we have of the alien tech because the shields they use most likely caused this effect. However the tech is not anything like our shielding tech.” Petrov said and then glanced at the group of deformed former officers. He considered them former because he had no intentions of working with any of them. For him they were something out of a strange circus. Regardless he knew there was an advantage to play here. As of yet he had not figured it out.

Petrov CE

The XO had been a little late getting back to the Transporter Room. His jaw nearly dropped as he saw the sight in front of him. “Well I’ll be.....” Commander Erin said, stopping at the Counselor’s side. “…Can’t we just run them through the transporter again?” The XO asked. The Commander looked over the logs and realized it wasn’t going to be that simple. Bryson removed his attention from the accident, to the data chip that the Counselor retrieved from the station.

“Not going to help running them through again. There are no error codes. We will most likely just get what we have here. In fact the transporter system is restricted. I don’t want to loose something that will bring them back…normal. I’m switching it to offline so we can sift through what happened here.” Petrov said.

“We’ll want to match that up with anything that Janeway had collected from her time in the Delta Quadrant.” He stated. “Something has to show how authentic the data is.”

Erin (XO)

At this point Alita simply didn’t know what to do. Her mind was running through possibilities. How this could have happened and what it might mean. For now she just stayed quiet. What a weird feeling ti was being in the body of a boy.

  • Alita, MO/COS

Celador was also very uncomfortable. He reached up to touch his hair and realized that he had pointed ears too. Was he part K’Mar too? He looked at Alita with wide eyes as he felt his ears.

-Cel

Alita looked at Cel again and raised her eyebrows in surprise. He wasn’t completely her and she probably wasn’t completely him.

“Ok so, this is just too bizarre but I’m certain if anyone can get us back to normal it’s our crack engineering staff. I mean I know Chief Petrov hates to fail at anything you know? Can I leave now?” she asked.

She was tired of standing on the transporter pad like some strange decoration.

  • Alita, MO/COS

“I suggest they all go to medical captain and they be taken off duty until we can know the extent of the changes and the effects they might have.” Petrov said quickly.

One he figured he was right. There might be other things wrong with them that could be dangerous to their health. Second it effectively left the COS at his pleasure. She would have no power to act and her being cured was in his hands to some degree. Anything could happen.
