It had been a week since the Lexington had brought him to OED V, and after the… excitement… of his arrival, the rest of the previous seven days had been the normal humdrum of taking over a new Command. Though he was happy to see that what was, effectively, his first major command… had all the bells and whistles of a Fleet Command posting with none of the half-dozen flag officers running around giving him constant migraines. Since reading himself aboard the Centurion… after the emergency had calmed down… he had become the Commanding Officer of the largest Starfleet command not carrying a Fleet designation, and that was just fine for Garrett. After getting his plane from the Lexington over to the hangar the CCDA had been so kind to assign him at Holloway Field, Garrett drove in his 2145 Porsche Taycan Turbo to the impressive two-story manor home assigned to the Commander of Federation Forces in the OED V Sector. The beautiful home was catty-corner across from the former Canadian Ambassador’s residence, now home to HHI Chairman Lucas Holloway, and just as grand.
As he pulled up to the gate outside the residence’s drive, the plain-clothed Starfleet Security NCO glared at the unidentified car for half a second, then snapped to attention as Garrett rolled down the window and produced ID. Pulling in, Garrett stopped outside the garage and walked to the front door of what was now his home and punched in his personal code on the pad by the door.
O’Connor, SF Commander
O’Connor was barely settled when he received a message from the Lt Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Star Fleet forces on Oed V. One Cmdre Rende Asam. The message was simple. Welcoming him to Oed V and requesting a meeting once he was settled.
Cmdre Asam, Lt. Governor
Mike glanced over the message and sighed. The only Starfleet officer within around a dozen light years that outranked him, and his jacket hadn’t even settled on the coat rack before she commed for a meeting. Oh well! O’Connor thought to himself. *Better sooner than to drag it out.” Tapping a few keys, Mike opened the secure comm-text to the Lt Governor and tapped out the message.

Good afternoon, Commodore.
Thank you so much for the welcome. I actually have the rest of the day clear if you would like to visit,
or I can swing by first thing tomorrow, whichever works best.
Kindest Regards,
FCAPT Garrett M. O’Connor
Federation Forces Commander - OED V Sector
Commanding Officer, USS Centurion
