It was a few days later that Vash and Eli were on board the shuttle heading towards their destination. Vash sat in the co-pilot’s chair, one heel setting on the edge of the chair, her arms wrapped around her leg, chin on her knee looking bored. In reality she was nervous. Surely Mistress Valeria would be more thorough and demanding than her father was. She was an unknown. Her mother had recently died of illness, and now she was in charge. No one really seemed to know a lot about her. Vash had considered waiting to go forward with her plan, and now, she was wishing she had. It was too late to cancel though.

Eli was never one to point out to Vash when he thought she might be nervous, he always just let he process and tried to nudge her back to her normal confidence. “So have you thought about what Valeria might ask for? and what you would like to counter with?” he asked leaning back as the ship did it’s thing

Vash shook her head. “My debt calculation was based on what I knew of her mother. What she tended to value different services and trainings to be worth. Valeria has been a bit of an unknown. Guarded, sheltered, and the last few years locked away, or so it seemed. If she is like most new Mistresses, she’ll want to make a name for herself. Show she can win in a negotiation. She might be generous to show she’s more fair than her mother. I’ve never met her, but whatever path she chooses, it will be dangerous. All the underbosses have been summoned, and others are making their way to find favor.” She sighed, “Make sure you’ve taken inhibitors. You’ll be able to cut the pheromones with a scalpel.”
