M’Lene instinctively stretched her wrist which was the most recent of her injuries, a slight grimace appearing on her face. “I still have a bit of pain in my wrist after tearing some cartilage a few years ago but it doesn’t bother me too much,” she replied, picking up that the doctor probably wanted a bit more information. “I’ve been a gymnast since I was a small child and the level I work at does have the unfortunate side effect of wearing down the joints and fairly regular accidents. I just do it for fun now but a few years ago I represented Macaderna at the Federation Olympic Games and won the silver medal on floor,” she added proudly as she thought back to the excitement of stepping out onto the floor in front of so many people.

She scanned M’Lene’s wrist again. “A Session or two with the tissue migrator should heal that up a bit better. A little physical therapy might help as well. Would you be interested in that?’

Yavia

M’Lene smiled and nodded. Although there was a medical facility in her village, it was nowhere near as advanced as the facilities at Sacred Heart and apart from some basic repairs to her cartilage, the doctors back home hadn’t managed to heal her injury fully. “Yes please, I would greatly appreciate that,” she replied and let out a satisfied purr.

Yavia opened a cabinet and pulled down a device and attached it to an opposable arm frame. “Thank you, Yavia,” Mek’vek said as she adjusted the device and angled it. There was a rest for M’Lene’s arm. “Just rest your arm here.”

Once she had, Mek’vek finished linning it up and then put in the settings. “Just hold still.”

“Would you like a drink or small snack while you wait,” the nurse asked.

M’Lene stretched out her furry arm as instructed and held still. “I wouldn’t say no to a Nepata tea if you have one?” She asked hopefully as she casually stroked her mane with her spare hand.

“Of course. Now you just hold still and I’ll be right back with that,” Nurse Yavia said as she stepped out of the room for a moment. She returned and set the cup beside M’Lene. “There you go. How is your arm feeling?”

M’Lene cautiously moved her wrist and was pleasantly surprised at the lack of dull ache. “Thank you nurse, it’s feeling a lot better,” she replied as she took a sip of tea and savoured the deliciously familiar taste trickling down her throat.
