Karina hadn’t wanted to walk away, but she knew she had to. She felt a pull toward Jewel. It was so easy, so natural. But Karina was wary. She wanted to do it right.

It was difficult to get to sleep, and once she did, she didn’t stay that way long. Her comm beeped an intense warning. There was an emergency at the university. It would take all morning. She wouldn’t get to see Jewel.

When Jewel opened her door that morning. There was a coffee, a pastry, so.e sort of iridescent flower and a note. Beautiful Gem. I hope you slept and your Vairin cat kept you company. There was an emergency at the university. It will take all morning. I hope you will let me see you tonight if only briefly. -Karina

Jewel smiled when she read the note, she had tossed and turned most the night, and from the sounds of it, Karina had to leave in the middle of the night. She would get her some Klingon coffee and some flowers of her own. She sent her a digital message. you are just trying to get out of working out, I know. PS, the cat snuggled up next to my soft skin all night, see you tonight Jewel

Karina smiled at the message on her comm. I think I am jealous of a stuffed cat.

Jewel went and completed her work out of the morning, showered, went to work. She had picked her team and now just needed them to agree. Around noon Jewel showed up at her office reception with two dozen red roses, a Klingon coffee. “Scusse Me” her voice in official mode, Is Mis Enger in?” she asked.

Karina’s secretary looked up as Jewel approached. She had a welcoming smile. “I’m sorry, she’s not here. She’s been gone all morning. She’s not expected back today.”

Jewel looked the the woman, apparently she knew who Jewel was, “Oh” she said not masking the disappointment but she had expected it. “Can I leave these with you? Coffee is Klingon, if you want it” she said placing the items on the counter.

“Of course. Would you like to put them in her office yourself. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind,” the woman offered.

Jewel smiled “Thank you” and turned and went back to work,, evening could not come fast enough for her.

It was late, 2 hours past midnight, when Karina returned to her office. Her assistant had long gone home. Karina smelled the roses before she saw them. A faint smile crossed her face as she moved to her desk. A cold Raktajino sat on her desk and a note. She picked up her comm Thank you for the roses. Beauty after a long day.

Karina sat down at her desk to complete the reports that were needed. Her day would be full of meetings with various officials. The destruction of the chemistry building was going to be a disaster. Classes had to be moved, the fire chief had an investigation to finish, students in the hospital, buildings and equipment to replace… it was a nightmare.

She fell asleep at her desk chair.

Jewel came back late, it was close to midnight she went to the roof and began her routine, it had been a long day. Karina was not home or asleep, there would be not connection this night she thought, after her routine she sank into the hot tube remembering the night they first shared. Her day had been hard she had received an accidental death case and while it looks fine, there were a few things she wanted to check that did not add up. The death turned into a murder investigation, likely a tourist her team was on it and would caller her when they were done with thier follow-ups. She pulled out her PaDD

When she was done, she placed a note on her door it was just a big heart with K+E and an arrow through it, in case Karina did not make it to the gym.

Jewel had a message from Karina when she woke thanking her for the roses. It was time stamped for long after Jewel had gone to bed. If Jewel checked in the morning, the note was still on Karina’s door. She hadn’t made it home last night.

Karina woke in her office, cramped and sore from falling asleep at her desk. In a sleepy haze, she made her way to her private refresher and was glad she kept a change of clothes in her office. She sat back down at her desk, feeling better for having freshened up. The report she was working on was a waste. It would take an hour to fix the exhausted gibberish she wrote.

Her comm blinked at her. She picked it up and smiled with pleasure but winced with regret. Jewel, I am so very sorry. I never made it home last night. Please forgive me. Today promises to be just as long. I am thinking of you.

Karina placed orders to have lunch delivered to Jewel, just so she would know Karina was thinking of her.

Jewel moved past the crime scene hallow back to her sled, “No trace again, who ever is pulling these heist off is a pro” she said, “Process the seen and get back to me ” she said heading back to her desk. When she arrived lunch was waiting for her, she ate starting to thumb through case files that had been given to her for consideration.

She sent her a photo of her in her work out cloths sport top and sport shorts.
It’s ok, love we’ll meet soon, thank you for lunch if it wasn’t for you I might have missed it, missing your palm kisses

She then send her a bunch of pictures that represents how she feels, hoping to speak Karina’s language in a way.

That set of images distracted Karina from her work for a good hour. It touched something deep in her soul that had been ignored since she left Vair. It erased the homesickness she wasn’t even aware she felt. Those images made her feel seen in a way no one had ever attempted. There was no way to express how she felt, there was no image that was enough. But in the end Karina simply returned an image of a woman’s palm being kissed. It wasn’t enough, but she hope Jewel understood what she was attempting to convey.

Jewel smiled the response made her feel warm and she closed her eyes to remember the feeling trying to keep it as alive as possible in her mind. She took an image of her palm face up and sent to back to Karina.

Jewel made her way to the roof again that evening, that routine would never change unless a call came in or she was on one. So far having a team of her own with two DI’s she could pass work to had helped, but it also meant she was doing more paper work. She sat in the tub reviewing a case on her PADD, Took a picture making a kiss and sent Karina a picture

It was another long day. Karina was there until late. There were parents and families to contact. And that meant some of those calls were late for her, but early for others. =/\=I wish I was there.=/\= When Karina finally made it home, the roof pool was closed and empty. She went by Jewel’s door, but decided not to knock. She wanted her to sleep if she could. Karina fell into bed, her alarm coming too soon.

Jewel awoke her normal schedule waking just before the alarm went off, she had breakfast and checked messages,

She arrived early to the gym and got everything ready, she was so excited hoping with all desperation that Karina would make it, she would have to control her self though cause every inch of her wanted to forgo the boxing lessons and pursue something more....direct.

Karina groaned with an ignored plea to her alarm. It kept going off until she got up, walked across the room, and turned it off. She looked at the time. Then her messages. That was worth getting up for.

She walked into the gym looking like she was sleep walking, but she was there. “Jewel,” she whispered walking over and hugging her.

Jewel looked at her, her heart beginning to race, she was not sure she would come, she completely melted into the hug barring her face into her next. “I missed you!” she whispered. Her breath trailing across Karina’s neck and shoulders. “Have you bee sleeping, we can just get coffee if you want” she said, still hugging her like she was about to disappear.

“I missed you too.” Karina pulled back. “No not much. It’s been a long week. How are you?”

Jewel looked at her she smiled softly, those eyes were drawing her in. “I’m sorry you have not slept well, but you have managed to pamper me none the same,” she smiled. “It’s really nice to see you again”

Karina smiled, “It is nice to be seen.” She lifted Jewel’s hand and pressed a long lingering kiss to her palm. Her eyes appraised her. “You look worried. Are you alright?”

Her eyes rolled back in her head as she kissed her palm, her knees gave slight buckle before she regained her composure.

Jewel could not talk about the case, the heist were getting more frequent and she still had very few leads, “Just work, can’t really,” she paused. “Ongoing investigation” she node.

Karina held up a hand, “I understand.” Andnshe squeezed Jewel’s hand comfortingly. Jewel couldn’t talk, that was okay. That was all she needed to say.

“But your eyes I could get lost them” she said sitting on the bench but not letting go of her hand, she and never heard back about the picture just received one back, “Did you” she paused, “Did you like the pictures? I wanted to speak to you in your way, ” she said becoming bashful and little embarrassed.

Karina sat down next to her, keeping hold of her hand. Those pictures had meant more than Amy expression could say. They had haunted and distracted Karina like a Siren. She stared into Jewel’s eyes. Then quite suddenly shentugged Jewel towards her, her other hand wrapped gently into her hair at the back of her head and held her. She leaned in and kissed her. Testing at first and then passionate.

Jewel was caught off guard she had not been expecting it at all, but then she melted into it, surrendering to the way it made her feel her arms embraced Karina, something she had long for the first night they met. She was lost in the moment, completely at Karina’s will.

Karina let go of her hand so she could wrap her arm around Jewel and hold her close. Karina hadn’t meant to kiss her, she wasn’t planning on it, but Jewel just looked so unsure and hesitant when she asked about the pictures. Karina just knew in that moment this was the only way to show her how much those pictures had meant. She poured everything she had felt seeing those pictures into the kiss.

The passion was so intense she was having a hard time thinking at all, or breathing for that matter, it was perfect. She felt so connected, so desired, so wanted. She could hardly separate her self from Karina, it was like they had just become one person.

<<<<BUUUUUEEEP>>> came the sound of Jewels communicator. She did not hear it at first, maybe it her trying to hide in the kiss from that sound, that beep was for work and an emergency at that.

Karina heard it. It wasn’t hers, so it went ignored. Then it came again and again. She slowed the kiss and pulled away just a hair’s breath. “Your comm,” she said between heavy breaths.

“hmmm?” Jewel asked she was in a daze , her brain numb with passion, it took another buzz to snap her out of .”Yes” she said sadly kissing her once and then standing .”Excuse me I have to take that” she moved to her back. =^=”Chief Inspector Jewel Stone” =^=

=^= “Yes, I see, Ok i’ll get down there as soon as I can send me the files please.” =^= she turned and looked at Karina moved over and kissed her softly. “Back to reality I guess” she said, “that was unexpected and welcome. Please do it again, I’m sorry I have to go to work, it was perfect and now my job is ,” she looked at her again. “Sorry”

Karina stood and brushed her cheek. “No, do not be sorry. Your job is important.” She leaned in and kissed her once more. “Tonight.”

“Hmmm?” She mumbled, as her brain melted from the kiss. “Tonight” she said standing , beding over to kiss her again, she grabed her bag to go sck.and change. She almost made it out of the room and ran back. “Bye” she squeek and kissed her one last time., as she moved.out the room she was on com’s .”Tamsy” she said as she left the room ” you are no.going to believe what ju....” it trailed off but what ever it was she was happy.

Karina stared at the door several minutes after Jewel left with a smile on her face. She decided to get on a treadmill and get some workout done. If she went back to her apartment now, she’d go back to bed and be late.

It was nearing 12:30 when a young redhead woman came bounding up the the reception desk she was dressed in a crop top and short skirt, skin showing everywhere. She stepped up to the receptionist desk at he university. She had a small bag in her hand.. “Is Miss Enger, in.. Tell her its Tamsy!!” in she asked. Tamsy was very excited, Jewel was on some case and wanted to surprise Karina what better way than lunch with her bestest sister. He had a bag lunch similar to the lunch Jewel and her had shared on their first date and a klingon coffee.

The woman smiled, “Director Enger’s office is down to the left. Take the lift to the 3rd floor. Turn right, and go through the double doors. Her assistant can help you.”

“Thanks” she squeaked, and she made her way up to the assistant. “Hi, I’m Tamsy, I’m her to see Miss Enger.” She said swaying back and forth.

The woman looked up at her and then at the schedule confused. “I’m sorry, I don’t see an appointment for Tamsy. Oh dear,” with everything else going on she must have forgotten to write down. She pressed a button to open a comm to Karina’s office. “Director, there is a Ms Tamsy here to see you.”

There was a heavy pause, the line went silent and a moment later the door to the left opened, “Tamsy?” the woman asked, “Please come in.”

“Thank you” Tamsy said to the receptionist with a wink. She walked quickly over to Karina her hips bouncing left to right like they are trying to nock and invisible person out of the way. ‘YAY!” she yelped as she tossed her arms around Karina in a hug that was overly friendly. “We are going to be great sisters!” she said. “Oh, sorry lunch, Jewels was like; I can’t get over there can you take her lunch and it has to be what we had on our first date;” Tamsy said in her most Inspector Jewel voice. “and I was like yay I get to meet your new Girl friend. And she like blushed which she never does, and like I can totally tell” she kept talking as they walked into the office. “That she is so in love with you, I mean I’m if you guys are living together in the next like six months I would be shocked , and I mean she has never been like this with anyone.!” she stood there now lunch in had blinking at Karina.

Karina practically stumbled backwards as Tamsy grabbed her. “Please have a seat,” Karina said still trying to process what Tamsy had said. She spoke so fast, Karina didn’t quite catch it all. Unfortunately she caught “totally tell”, “love”, and “living togther”. She reminded Karina of Rondara, and that was both sweet and very sad. She took the food and set it on her desk. She’d message Jewel later to thank her. She took a seat across from Tamsy, in a single winged back chair. “It is nice to meet you, Tamsy,” Karina said in her careful measured and slightly mechanical voice. “Jewel says you are an environmentalist.”

“Oh thank you she said taking out her lunch and handing Karina the bag. “Sorry I tend to ramble, umm yes I love the environment, and Jewel says you manage all this ?” she said looking around amazed. “So, smooth move on the carnival date, Jewel wont shut up about it, best time she’s had in years, maybe ever I think she said. Wish someone would take me to a carnival all I ever get is a cheep meal and some guy trying to get me to go home with me, I honestly thought romance was dead but it’s so not, I’ve been living vicariously through my sister since you met”
