Jewel squeaked as they entered the closest house, directly in the door was a giant pool of softball size plastic multi colored balls. Several slides were around the room, Jewel pulled Karina “Come on Renia time to play ” she said sounding almost child like she climbed the slide and went shooting down it into the balls disappearing briefly and then popped up laughing..

Karina laughed watching Jewel and then climbed the highest slide and landed in an explosion of ball pit balls. She ‘surfaced’ and waded through toward the Jewel and the exit. Which happened to be a spinning tunnel.

Jewel waited, took her hand and went to the exit, “Yay more spining, ” she said as though she actually meant it. Though if you looked at the way she moved through the exit you would think the tunnel was not rotating all. She actually turned and walked backwards she wanted to watch Karina.

Karina was decently balanced, but not like Jewel, and she liked the fun of traveling up the tunnel and scurring back down. She grinned at Jewel, “Show off.” She let herself stumble as they got out of the tunnel so Jewel had to catch her.

Jewel stumbled back as they exited the tunnel, now surrounded by a hall of mirrors, she caught Karina, theirs eyes locked and for a moment her heart stopped. She smiled softly, “Hi” she said laughing playfully, not really attempting to move on, she could stare into those eyes all night.

“Hi yourself.” Karina grinned, “Good reflexes.” She gripped Jewel’s arms and stood up and looked around. “Oh a hundred of you…” she flashed her another grin.

Jewel laughed “You can never have to much Jewel” she teased.

“Mmmm I believe that.” Karina tugged her hand and started inti the maze.

“I look so fat in this one” she chuckled as she moved through the mirrors. “Look at you, your so tall” she said as they stood next to each other, Jewels made her look really short and Karina’s looked really tall.

“Oh! get me out of here before I start making lesson plans for the elementary kids involving this place,” Karina joked, maybe, while making all kinds of silly faces in the mirror.

Soon they were out of the maze room and going up to another level the set them in front of a shady looking bridge that went across a large pit of foam blocks.”This looks shady” Jewel noted.

“Scared?” Karina asked her in a teasing tone. She grabbed Jewel’s hand and started moving side ways across the bridge. “Come on, we’ll go together.”

“hmm” she said, “Oh no,, I mean ” she said giving her fake damsel in distress voice “Please help me to safety ” she said batting her lashes as Karina tugged on her hand. As they stepped on the first platform it made a clack noise. “Umm we should go fast” she said but it was too late, she pushed Karina forward on to the next platform and squealed as she went into the pit.

Karina turned and jumped into the pit after her. She bounced on the giant foam squares and settled in. There was a metal clacking as the bridge reset. “The fun is in the fall,” Karina said as she tried to get situated and find the way out.

She smiled and laughed as Karina jumped in after, stumbled her way up and followed Karina out of the pit, they moved to the next room and walked into the upside down room, they were standing on the ceiling and had to figure out how to get through the door which was just out of reach with the vaulted ceilings, it would have been easier had they made it over the bridge but not by much. “Hum now what” she said. “Maybe I could jump up there and then pull you over?” she asked

Karina looked around. The idea was to have fun, not get stuck or frustrated. It wasn’t an escape room. Her eyes landed on a slight shadow. Moving toward it, there was a small alcove with a rope ladder. “Here. No jmping required. Unless you want.”

Jewel laughed , “well there is aways that ,she laughed.” Snad went to the ladder, climbed and soon the next room, it was a room with a squish floor that was filled with a liquid. Walking was difficult snd fun, the walls an ceiling were covered with star and a large gas giant rising over the horizzon.. “moon room i love these” Jewel giggles pulling here into the room..

Karina wattled like a penguin around the room. “I thought about making a bed out of this stuff,” she said squishing back and forth, “But I would never get up again.” The room was more calming and relaxing after all the falling and climbing. A bit of break. It wasn’t hard to get through the room. The next though…

Jewel looked at her and licked her lips, “I can think of a few good reasons to build a bed out of this” she grinned, bouncing around and falling back into it a few times.

Walking through the door, Karina jumped and floated into the air. “Anti-grave room! Come on.”

“Ohhhhhh” Jewel sqweaked, and gracefully pushed off the the floor in a slow rotation her arms out to her side, taking Karina’s hand as she drifted up.

Karina moved through the zero g’s with grace and control. Rolling and tumbling and ‘swimming’. She grinned. “I always loved zero G’s. It’s so fun. It is not quite the same in space though. I can feel the push and pull of the energy in these rooms.”

Jewel was comfortable in zero-g, but it looked like Karina was in her element. Jewel slowed her turns to look at her shifting onto her back, she was so free and looked so happy. “How do you mean, It feels mostly the same to me, though to be honest I have not spent a lot of time in it, except for training. I could get used to it though” she said as her eyes continued to take in Karina

Karina’s expression turned thoughtful as she tried to explain. “It is… vibrations. The planet has gravity, so we must work against nature to create zero Gs. You do not feel it?”

She drifted closer to Karina, “I feel something” she said looked at Karina, “Maybe my senses aren’t as intune or I have not been in real zero-g enough to know the difference” Jewel smiled and started a little slomotion back flip.

“I have always been able to tell.” Karina gave a little shrug and then went back to enjoying the weightlessness. Then more people came in and the room got too crowded to enjoy. Karina floated toward Jewel and grabbed her hand. “Ready?”

Jewel smiled “yes” she said taking her hand the worked there way to the exit. “Maybe your mind powers help you feel the gravity?” She said not really sure what else to say.

“Perhaps. I had not considered that.” Karina smiled and tumbled through the door.

The room exited the second building back to the courtyard. “That was so much fun” she said with a shrug. “What now”

Karina got the feeling that maybe Jewel was getting bored. “More rides, food, music?” It was much darker than when they arrived. Karina checked the time. “There is a holo light show soon.”

Jewel smiled looking around, there was so much to see and do, she was a little hungry though. “Some food and drinks would be fun while we wait for the show?” she said, “I love Holo light shows” she said excited to see what they had come up with. “Mostly I’m just really enjoying being with you she said hooking her arm back through hers.

“I am enjoying it too.” Karina squeezed her arm a bit and then led the way toward the grand stand. There were plenty of places to get food along the way. Karina by-passed them all with a wink. She led Jewel all the way up to the top of the bleachers to a platform filled with partitiened seating areas. Karina scanned her pass over one of the doors and stepped in.

Jewel smiled and tugged her arm as she saw the area. “This is really amazing. Can we see the show from here?” she asked

“Have a seat,” she pulled a chair out for Jewel and then sat in the chair next to her. She handed her a PaDD, “You can order anything you want and they will bring it.”

Jewel new exactly what she wanted, she had had it once a long time ago, “I would like a couple slices of Chicago Style pizza , all meat and tripled cheese” she said “and a large fruity drink of some kind, oh and maybe some breadsticks and garlic sauce” she said look at Karina her eyes now filled with delight.

“Whatever you want. Jewel.” Karina put the order in, along with a few other things. Music played over the speakers in the background. “Oh yes. The roof slides away so that we can see the show when it starts. There was talk of fireworks, but the risk of fire was too great. The terraformers would kill us all.”

Jewel leaned in close .”I can’t wait, I’ve already had some fireworks tonight.” she teased, “Tell me about your family your home, I want to know all about you.” she asked wanting to catch more of who she was . She looked at the space and everything that Karina had put together with her students, it truly was amazing work.

Karina’s eyes flared with a little heat. She lifted Jewel’s hand and kissed the center of the palm while holding her gaze. She sat back, retaining hold of Jewel’s hand. “My parents were very… family oriented. My father was busy, but never too busy for us. I remember one time that he stopped a meeting to talk to me. He was told it was insulting to the other people. He told them all that if they were a people that would not put their families and always their children first, those were people we did not need to associate with. That the Cairn had nothing to gain from them.”

“My mother would take us with her when she worked. She always had … clay? Yes clay for us to make our own art. It was horrible,” Karina laughed, “but she never…” how to explain? “She did not over praise. She would help us get better, but was never mean. It didn’t matter, it was the time that was beautiful.”

Jewels eyes dialated when she kissed her palm, it was an unusual thing that Jewel had never experienced , she enjoyed it. “Sounds like you had a great family life” she sighed..”tell me about your siblings” she asked watching her every expression.

“My sister, Julfred, is just starting university but has no idea what she wants to do. She has decided that school is better than working. Growing up she always stole my clothes and acting like she was not big enough to do her chores. Audun, my brother, was always flirting with all my friends when they came over. He was so much younger than us, that they all thought it was cute.” Karina smiled at the memory. “At the time I found it quite annoying. He is very athletic and wants to compete professionally.”

Jewel smiled “Sounds like you had a wonderfull childhood,” she sighed softly, “it sounds so great, sometime I feel like i had a good family, but I dont see how thats possible ” she said looking back on how she was found

Karina looked at her curiously. “Why can it not be possible?” she asked curiously.

“Well when they found me i was trying to escape a Cardassian slave camp, I don’t know just the war was bad I don’t see how it could have been a good life, maybe when I was little. They had to regenerate my back the scars were old and deep. And there were other things.” She realized that she was taking the mood down. ” just always seems unlikely” she said.

Karina never let go of her hand. “The war was hard, and it took a lot from you. Do not assume it was all bad. You are still alive. Someone fought to keep you that way. Maybe, one day, you will know who.” Karina kissed her palm again. There was a knock and then the door opened. A server brought their food and set it out for them and then left. “What about your family now? Was it a happy time with them?”

She smiled squeezing her hand and then let go to grab a slice of pizza, ” they are amazing and we have a lot of fun together, my mom and dad are amazing, took me in to help with my rehabilitation, and tamsy and I became just like sisters, I could not ask for better, its just there is always a hole there you know?” She said then took a bite ..”mmmmmmm so good”

Karina reached for something that looked like a mozzarella stick. She nodded, but she didn’t really know. She could imagine though. A part of her was missing. “This is very good. I will have to run to work every day for a month to work it off.”

She looked at her and smirked. “Giving up on kickboxing already, do that and yoga with me and you’ll be fine tomorrow!” She said smiling and trying one of the sticks..”May i?”

“I am not giving up, just adding to it.” Karina lifted the basket towards. “Of course. I got them to share.”

“Im a day behind on my yoga,someone kept me up all nighf” she said chuckling as she grabed a stick and ate it..” mmmmmm” she moaned softly. “Good pick.” She said.”here try a bite of my pizza” she said holding it out to her.

Karina laughed. “It is not my fault you find me so distracting.” She winked at her and then leaned in and took a bite of the pizza. She hummed appreciatively. “Thar’s good.” She picked up a cup full of some kind of fizzy drink and took a long sip.

Jewel picked up her seat and moved it next to Karinas, she wanted to sit close to her, “too far apart” she mumbled. She moved her plate and drink and stat down bumpingnhe shoulder to Karina’s. ” There thats better don’t you think?”

“For watching the holo light show together, but it makes it more difficult to watch your face while we talk,” Karina said as she turned side ways in her seat to look at her. “But I do like you closer.”

Jewel takes off her jacket, hanging it on the back of the chair she moves her wallet to her front pocket. “Well I like being close to you” she purred picking up another cheese stick, she smiled setting it on Karina’s lower lip.

Karina took a slow bite while watching Jewel’s eyes. “Mmm, even better.”

Jewel watched her eat intently, a small smile forming on her face. “Now that’s pizza” she said, Taking a drink and leaning back in her chair, stretching her arms above her head to loosen her shoulders.

She than place her and on the table as she took in the scene, “You all did very well,”

“Me?” Karina asked, clearly confused as to what Jewel was referring to.

She looked at Karina, “Your telling me you did not help your students in away way? ” she looked at her, a look of disbelief in her eyes. She took as sip of her drink.

Karina looked around and back to Jewel. “I did not. All of this was done by their teachers, advisors, and the students. All I did was sign the proposal.” Karina sighed. “I do not teach anymore. No time. It is all paperwork now.”
