Karina was a fairly disciplined person. She was no Vulcan of course, but when it came time to focus she did despite any other distractions. That afternoon that distraction came in the form of a 5 foot 11 inch, dark braided hair, woman with an adorable laugh, soulful eyes, and a dedicated police officer. Karina managed to keep her meetings from going over too far. But once she got home she had to make quick work of her shower and getting ready.

Karina pulled her hair back into a loose pony tail; she wore low slung hip hugger capris, an off one shoulder soft cotton like shirt in fuchsia, and comfortable sneakers. She applied just a little bit of make up to her eyes and a colored lip gloss. The final touch was her light tan leather jacket. She pocketed her comm and ID. Then she had to pace about her apartment until it was time to go up two floors to pick Jewel up.

At exactly 1800 Jewel’s chime rang.

Jewel had managed to get home early for once, she always put in overtime and she wanted to be ready for tonight. She had gone through 7 different outfits for the night, from a long sundress to hoochie shorts with a country style tied button down polka dot shirt. She was so excited when she heard the door. Outside Karina heard a squeak of joy, the thump of feet running down the hall, a thud, “ouch,, moth” a scamper in front of the door and a long pause.

Jewel tried to shake off the aching big toe as she gave herself one last primp. She opened the door a smile on her face, she had light makeup on it was not her style to over do it, her long black hair cascaded over her shoulder with some small yellow flower in her hair, she was wearing a black v-cut leather jacket, a tube top and tight jeans. Around her neck was a tight silver chain, another that bridged the front of her Jeans, a jeweled silver chain on her wrist. her we go she thought. And was held mute as she caught sight of Karina, she forgot her name, where she was.

Karina let her eyes slowly caress over Jewel. That was a very good look. Karina wanted to run her hands over the skin of her stomach that was peeking out at her. The other thing she wanted to do was run her hands all through that thick rich hair. “Jewel…” she said breathlessly. “You are… a delight.”

“Huh” she said slowly coming back into reality. “You look amazing” she said,oh my she thought hold it together, play it cool “Please come in she said taking her hand and kissing her cheek. She swung around her hips tipping back and forth as she grabbed her black ankle high boots. “It’s not much but it’s mine” she said flicking her fingers toward the living room. “Have a look” she said waying her hand as she slipped on the boot.

Apartment was very clean, sheves of various tribal like carvings covered the walls each floating shelf held its own featured item, it was rather devoid of of clutter. Dark warm woods surrounded the room wood floors with trim and molding to match. In the center was a large shag rug with two love seats sitting around a fake fireplace. The kitchen overlooked the space, a small table in front of and island. It was very well decorated.

Karina moved around the space looking, but not touching anything. The lack of clutter seemed to draw more attention to the items. “One day, I will ask about these,” she said waving to the carving and such. She turned and moved back toward Jewel.

“mmm My Tamsy did it all, not like I have time to decorate, ” she said as she laced up her boot. “She said something about it suiting my aura or something I don’t know, but when I saw it the first time , I was like Tamsy this is amazing, it spoke to me kinda, she’s and amazing decorator if you want i’m sure she’d love to decorate your place, she’s amazing ” she continued as she put on her other boot. “At like reading people and knowing exactly what would work best to make them unwind at the end of the day. ”

She stood and walked into the living room. “Where we going” she said cupping her hand on Karina’s should kicking her foot up backwards in the air and batting her eyelashes.

Karina chuckled, “It’s a surprise. But I promise it is a very public place.” Karina had given too many lectures to her students. “Are you ready to go to your surprise, Gem?”

“Yay,” she said pulling Karina’s hand toward the door, grabbing a small black purse with a silver chain on it on the way out.

There was a slider waiting outside the building for them. Karina had already arranged it and the driver knew where they were going. Karina filled the ride with general conversation topics. Nothing too deep or bland. The slider move through the city toward the outer edge. The building on this end were taller and made it hard to see what was past it. The closer they got to the outskirts the heavier traffic became, but nothing frustrating.

Karina had stopped speaking so she could watch Jewel’s reaction. She hoped she’d made the right choice. Something light and fun, where they could laugh and just be silly.

Karina had never seen her smile so big, she mentioned several times how much she was enjoying the ride, how special it made her feel, and in typical fashion babbled non stop and commented on everything. She even mentioned a couple robbery cases she had closed as they past by the locations. Jewel had been this way for case work all the time, she was drawing a blank on anything out this way that she would consider first date material. There was a couple decent restaurants this way but Karina had said it was going to be out doors.

Then the slider slid out from between two buildings. In front of them was a full blown carnival. Rides, games, food, agricultural exhibits and contests, live music. Everything.

Jewel squeaked in her usual jewel way and about tackled Karina in the back seat. “OH MY ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!” she shouted in her ear as she hugged her. “I totally for got this was going on, i so love carnavals, we are going to have so much fun, I can’t wait to go on all the rides with you, your going to win me lots of prizes right. ” she stopped to take a breath.. “I mean course you are, ohhhhh mmmmy goooosh carnaval foood !!!!!” she said in a gutteral low tone realizing what was about to go down. “Im soooo being bad!!” she finally stopped looked at Karina and kissed on the cheek. “This is amazing !!!”

As Jewel began to babble, Karina smiled after letting out the breath she had been holding. The sign above the entrance said “First Annual Oed University Carnaval. “Our senior students in engineering, business, culinary, PR, media, and more all had to design parts of this. They were graded on the plans and models. It was their graduation projects. Then with permission they got everything approved by the building and safety commissions.”

“This is so great, I could not have asked for anything better, you are so good at this” she said

“I am happy you like it,” Karina said.

The slider pulled up by the main entrance and let them out. Karina slid out and reached back in for Jewel’s hand and helped her out. She tucked Jewel’s hand to her arm and led her toward the entrance where she flashed to passes and then they were inside with all the sounds, smells, and sights. “Where first?”

Jewel took her hand and pulled out of the slider everything was so perfect the sounds the sight of it and the smell of the food. “Karina, what you have done here, with the school and these kids, and, you have done so much for the community and , now me, I mean my life is just so , and I needed this so bad and you just plucked it out of thin air , I so need this in my life ,and I’m now so overwhelmed and I, thank you,” she started crying, “I’m so happy,” she said barring her tears into the shoulder of Karina’s soft leather Jacket.

Karina had a small moment of panic. She did not know what to do with a crying Jewel. She was happy? But now crying? Oh dear. She put her arms around Jewel and slowly rubbed her back while quietly guiding them out of the main flow of the crowd. She was touched that Jewel thought so much of her work, but she was more concerned with comforting Jewel than accepting compliments.

It took Jewel a few moments to compose herself.. “im sorry” she said wiping her eyes. ” im just so happy, its perfect I really needed some fun!.”

She started wiping the tears off her coat, “sorry” she said an apology written all o er he face..

“Lets eat im so hungry, and if this is half as good as lunch im going to be hating my self for eating so much”

Katina gently reached up and wiped Jewel’s face with the pad of her thumb. “No reason to be sorry. Come on.” It upset Karina that no one had made the effort to make sure Jewel was having fun. Not that Karina had room to talk, but Jewel had family nearby.

She led Jewel to a large are that was encircled by food trucks. Food of all kind. All delicious and all very bad for you and all indulgent. They started at the first truck and Karina bought whatever Jewel wanted to try.

she was overwealmed by the choices, finally she got something that looks like a chunk of gooey meat, packed on a stick by fried cheese and and potatos. “Hmm ,” moaned as she bit into it, “soooo Good” she said scouping the juice of her chin. “You put so much thought into this date, we you nervious?” she asked. I can’t believe I broke down like that she must think i’m a crazy person she thought

“I can not take credit. The professors and students did this. I just bought two tickets.” Karina got roasted corn, a corn dog, two giant pretzels (one with just salt and marinara and another with peperoni and cheese sauce), and her favorite - funnel cake!. She squealed when she saw the truck and dragged Jewel over to it. She got an extra large one with powdered sugar, chocolate drizzle and vanilla ice cream.

She was about to protest and tell her how amazing she was and that she could not have found anyhting more perfect, and then she saw a side of Karina she had not seen yets and her heart melted, she trailled along trying not to lose her meat stick as she laughed. “What What?” she asked

Karina pulled off a pices and held it out to Jewel, “Try. It is my favorite.”

The expression on her face when she saw the funnel cake was like a ten year old had just seen the most delicious thing they had ever seen. Her eyes were wide and seeking.
“Oh my!” she said with great anticipation trading her meat stick for the funnel cake. “oh my ” she moaned, “This is better than!” she said having not really had anything overly sugar or chocolate filled in 12 months. ” Well maybe not that but it’s so good!” while we are eating want to show me some of the exhibits and introduce me to some colleagues ,I bet I’m the best arm candy here?” she said holding out her arms and dipping into a fake pirouette.

“Oh, yes you are.” Karina continued to indulge in the funnel cake and sharing it with Jewel. She pointed out the various students running the food trucks, but they were busy and there was no way to pull them away for an introduction.

The first building happened to be a barn. Inside there were all kinds of produce being judged. It was like a replica of the Slian Square farmer’s market, but with ribbons. There were lots of samples. Karina introduced her to the judges.

The shift in demenor when she was introduced to the judges was a bit of a gear shift, she smiled “Nice to meet you” she said. maybe making a comment about the fair or the produce around the room. Her rapid shift into politcal social mode from ditzzy plaything was almost disorienting. Once they had cleared the general pressence of her co-works and social circles. She turned to Karina, “I play the game good ya?” she asked. “I know how to entertain” she said pulling into her arm wanting to be close to her.

Karina watched with fascination. Jewel reminded her of her mother, in a very good way. Karina admired her mother and strived to learn from her. Her mother was the wife of an ambassador. She had to navigate all kinds of social situations with poise and grace. She made people relax and let their guard down. Karina rested her shoulder against Jewel’s. “What do your parents do?” she had to ask.

Jewel squeezed as she leaned into her, she felt like they were in some sort of fairytale and it was wonderful. “Mom she was a therapist,” she smiled sheepishly, “whe she realized my memory loss was physical they took me in” she said answering the question that would always come next. “Dad, geologist, surveyor. He helped alot with Oeds building projects. They are both semi retired, consulting when they are needed.” She smiled looking at all the exhibits. “What about your parents, and family?” She asked as she realized she did not know.

Ah! That explained it. Jewel had learned from her mother. Karina didn’t ask about her lost memories. Cairn would share it all, but Karina had been around non-Carin enough to respect their privacy. Jewel would tell her or not in her own time. “My father is an Ambassador. My mother is a sc…ulp…ter.”

“Oooh” she said, “Maybe your mom can make me a sculpture for one of my shelves?” she cooed and pecking her on the cheek with a squeeze. As they left the last of the exabits she saw them the games. She shrugged with a loud squeak of her voice, “Games” she said, letting her arm slipped and pulling her sharply by the wrist, “Come on” she said flipping around to look her in the eye, a massive flash of joy now spread across her face. She spun quickly from one hand to the next and then back around again, she was very graceful on her feet.

Karina followed her willingly, smiling as she watched Jewel. “Did you take dance lessons?” They sided uo to the first game and Karina showed her pass. The young man in the booth handed them 6 baseballs. Karina handed them to Jewel. “Care to try?”

Jewel shrugged at the questions. “I don’t think so” she said answering the dance questions. She grinned uncontrollably taking the baseball..”How do I get the big one she asked them operator? and can I have a practice throw?” she winked at Karina a little mischief playing in her eyes.

Karina was sure she had. “I will ask my mother for a piece.”

The man shrugged and pointed to her pass. “You have an all access pass, you can have all you want. To win the big one, hit 6 targets in a row.” The targets were moving.

Jewel grin turned a little sinister as she thought about how she would clean out the booth, but then she remembered that this was Karina’s kids’ pet project. She looked at the man, she pointed the fingers of her left hand, two fingers sliding across the top wide to give stability, she was a little worried she would break things if she really heaved it. She gave it a controlled toss, it just missed the moving target. After that she was able to get 5 out of six and called it .”Fun!!” she said, “What can I get for 5?” she asked.

The man smiled, “That was great! Do you pitch ball?” He asked. He grabbed a stick and pointed out a row of prizes that ranged in choice of stuffed animals the size of a medium dog to kites to dolls to pull cord helicopters.

Jewel took the dog and handed it to Karina, “No, im just really good with my hands” she said laughing and winking at Karina, “Thank you.” she said to the man with a flirtatious smile.

“My pleasure,” he said returning the smile leaning toward her slightly. Karina took the dog, tucking it under her arm and patting the head like it was real.

She then realized that she had been so excited about the date and lunch that she forgot to tell Karina. “I so forgot to tell you” she said reaching inside her coat, she grabbed her leather wallet flipping it open, and flashed her badge all serious. “Detective Chief Inspector, Major Crimes Division” She was standing all exaggerated with the badge far to close to Karina’s eyes to see.

Karina smiled, “Oh?” She asked with a hint of interest. She wasn’t sure what Jewel was doing. She didn’t seem to be the kind to just flash her badge because. Jewel hadn’t told her her actual job within the department. Maybe she just wanted to share more about her job. “What exactly does that mean?” She asked with obvious uncertainty but interest.

Jewels face twisted in to a confused frown as she let her hand drop, “Didnt I tell you I was a Detective Inspector? ” she shook her head, “Oh well”, she squeaked, she was way to excited to let that stop her.. “I got a promotion and given my own special unit, Im working for the Comissioners number 2 which basically makes me number 3” it didn’t but she was on a role,” i went to meet him today, and he’s gave me the new job, which surprised me cause I thought the person that recomended me hated me, turns out she was like grooming me or something. I dont know, but I get to chose the cases I work on and I hhave a team to delegate too, well i habe to hand pick them, and I mean maybe ” she said wraping Karina in a hug ” Maybe we won’t get interuppted all the time and go off world or somethibg, when he told me I was so excited but I could not show it. And i think i might have tinkled a litte. Hmmmmn ” she kissed her on the cheek and the showed her the badge again.

“OH!” Karina understood now. “I did not know the difference.” She returned Jewel’s hug fiercely. “That is wonderful, Jewel. I am sure you deserve it. Very exciting!” She hugged her tight again. “That will be exciting for you. I am glad we can… honor your promotion tonight.”

She took her by the cheeks, “We can celebrate that another night” she said very seriously looking, her eyes trying to burry themselves in Karina’s soul. “Tonight I think we should celebrate us, fate brought us together, I don’t know if it does for you, but it feels different to me, you and I, I mean” the little girl attitude and playfulness had been set aside, Jewel searched Karina’s face for what she felt inside.

Karina took both her hands in her own. Lifting one to her mouth, she kissed the palm of Jewel’s hand again. “Yes, it is different. Tonight is…” her people had a set of images for this, but putting it into words was difficult. “The first step. I …” Jewel could almost see the gears turning as she tried to vocalize what she wanted to express, “look forward to the path.”

Jewel smiled sighed when she kissed her hand, she could tell that Karina was struggling to find the right words, she smiled and kissed Karina’ palm, “I knew you felt the same way” she said “now time for you to win me a prize.. she said lacing her fingers with her own and walked down the gangway.

Karina laughed. “You want a prize, I shall win you a prize.” Karina scanned the games, mostly the prizes, looking for what she wanted. She found it at a balloon dart booth. She walked up and flashed her pass. “Director Enger! Are you having fun? Isn’t this great? I didn’t think it would all come together. It seemed too huge a project. I’m so glad we did this. I feel so much more aware of what work will be like now.”

Jewels lips pulled tight as she tried to figure out what prizes Karina was after, they were all interesting, she look over at her about to say something, but Karina’s demenor shifted and she missed her opportunity to speak.

“You have all done exceptional Maise. I am very glad at how well it is going. Have you been busy?” Karina asked as she surveyed the balloons and picked up her darts. “Busy enough. I just reset the booth. We had the elementary schools groups earlier, and I made the balloons bigger and brought them closer. I mean, I know not everyone is supposed to win, but they’re kids.” Karina threw the darts with ease and hit a balloon with everyone. Two didn’t pop though, but it was enough to win Karina the prize she was after.

she is so amazing with students and they seem to adore her she thought. She was amazed at how Karina did not even flinch at letting the kids win. Jewel wondered if Karina was going to introduce her and how she would do it. She smiled as Karina went to pick a prize.

“That one Maise,” Karina pointed to a stuffed cat like creature, with a bear like face, and a long stripped tail. It was fuchsia and lilac with dark bronze stripes. Maise handed it to her. “No, that is not for me. It is for my beautiful date, Jewel Stone.” Maise grinned, “Here you go. Hey, you’re an inspector right? I saw you after that break in and the medicinal herb shop a couple of weeks ago.”

She took the small cat like thing and squeezed it,”Oh thank you” she said and about to ask what it was, it was so cute. Then she heard Inspector and looked at Maise. “I am” she said,normally would have corrected the rank, but it did not matter here.

Karina smiled watching her hug the animal. She picked up her own stuffed prize and stepped away from the line that was forming.

Jewel thought for a moment about the scene. “Yes I remember you were giving a statement to Sergeant Holt, good memory Maise,” she said trying to muster her inner mom. “What is your Major?” She asked.

“It’s hard to forget. It all happened so fast and slow at the same time.” Maise retrieved the darts while she spoke. “I just graduated with a Bachelors in small business administration and biology. I’m going to be attending again in the fall for my masters of science in animal behavior.”

Jewel smiled, “Things like that can get your adrenaline a pumping, good thing is that case was a one off and really rare for that part if town. Pretty safe around there” she noted, “Thank you for making a statement lot of people opted not too.” She said winking at Karina, “Sounds like you are on a good path! biology if that does not work out, could always use good people in forensics.” she smiled and took Karina’s hand . “It was nice to meet you Maise, ride time?” She asked

Karina said bye to Maise and linked arms with Jewel and moved down the fairway. There were all kinds if rides. From slow and safe to wild and crazy. “You pick first.”

Jewel leaned into Karina pulling her close, there were little theme rides and lots of spining and shaking rides pretty much everything. “I was thinking the ferriswheel, I would not mind cuddling up and look at the fair from so high up” she said steering them that direction.

There was a line for the ferris wheel. Karina didn’t mind waiting. There were plenty of people to talk to if they were so inclined to do that while passing the time. There were people that both Karina and Jewel knew that stopped to say hello on their way to the next set of bright lights.

As they were standing in line a tall dark haired man with a neatly groomed beard approached them he was dressed casual jeans and tee shirt, a young blond woman hung on his arm. “DI Stone,” he said holding out his hand. “I hear is Chief Inspector now? ” he said trying to determine if what he had heard was true

Jewel looked over “Sergeant Holt it is Chief now, should have known I would find you here.” she said holding out her hand. “Karina this is Sergeant Cameron Holt, he’s a good friend and collogue, and this is his wife Anna, nice to see you again.” she said giving the young woman a hug.

Karina shook their hands with a smile. “It is nice to meet you both.”

They shook her hand, “So how did you too meet?” Anna asked Karina.

“We live in the same building. We met at the pool last night when we both needed a long soak in the hot tub,” Karina said.

Jewel blushed slightly, Holt seemed to be surprised at her reaction. “It was amazing we ended up talking all night. Then we had lunch today and she planned this ” she said waving her hands to the fair.

Anna smiled “so romantic,” she said tugging on her husband’s arm smiling at Jewel and Karina.

Karina laughed, “I did not plan this. I just bought tickets.”

Jewel shrug her shoulders, “Could have fooled me !” Jewel said with a wink at Anna. “Have fun you too” she said as they excused themselves. Holt was someone she wanted for her new team but they could talk about that tomorrow.

The line moved slowly as the wheel shifted what seemed inches at a time letting people off and then on. Eventually though, Jewel and Karina were ushered into a seat and the safety belts and bar were locked into place.

Jewel rested her head on Karina’s shoulder nestled in close to her as she was a little cold and let out a shiver. “Guess a tube top might not have been the best choice” she said. She sighed softly as the went up a level to let the next persons in. “I’m having such a great time!” she mentioned.

Karina reached over and tugged Jewel’s jacket closed. If she hadn’t been wearing one, Karina would have enjoyed a reason to give Jewel her own jacket. Then she put an arm around her and rubbed her arm. “I am too. I am glad. I was … worried I made the wrong choice.”

Jewel sighed and leaned into her embrace. She loved Karina’s touch it made her feel so safe, it was confusing. “I could not have asked for a more perfect date, ” she said, “Its so perfectly what I need right now.”

Her comms rang , no no no she panicked inside. She was at least stuck in the air for at least another twenty minutes. She gave Karina a look that said she was sorry. “Cheif Stone” she answered… the scream of a female squeak that mimiced Jewels cleared her earpiece.

Karina squeezed her arm around her. It was alright. She grinned when she heard the squeak. Not work then.

“No”
“Yes”
“Yessss”
“No way in Hell”
“Good bye”
“I promise ill fill you in later”
“Good bye Tamsy”

Jewel looked at Karina, “my sister checking in on me”

Karina laughed, “I thought maybe given the loud s..qwu…eak. Are you going to be questioned later?”

Jewel smirked, “Oh you have no idea!” She said. “If I dont introduce you soon, she will show up at your work.” Jewel looked at her, “its all moving so fast, but I” she paused as she was never this open. “I feel so safe and comfortable with you, like I can be me, and your not judging everything that I say, do ,or decide to put on, you see me for me and its amazing and I feel, I dont know like I have known you for years and its been less that 24 hours.”

“If she shows up, I will get her enrolled and taking classes.” Karina grinned. “It is fine if she does.” Karina turned to look at Jewel. “You are very easy to talk to. I am so glad we met.” Karina felt the same, but she had been hurt and the pain was still raw enough to make her cautious. “I want to spend more time with you.”

Jewel nuzzled in as the lift rotated up two cars and they were nearing the top. “I want to take it slow too” she said. “Its just so hard too ” she said. Looking down at the carnaval , it was so beautiful.

Karina looked at her curiously. Jewel seemed to understand what she was trying to say better than people she had known for years. It was nice. She rested her cheek on top of Jewel’s as the wheel began to circle slowly.

She nuzzled into her cheek a soft sigh escaping her lips. It was a full rotation before she spoke again. “Just please give me a chance, i can be a little much sometime, i talk when i get nervious and sometimes my filer gets a little thin, and i say stupid things.” she said worried that a few weeks of hard cases and she would run the otherwise.

“There are no stupid things. And I am too stubborn to not try.” Karina’s job was not dangerous, but it was intense and required a large amount of dedication and sacrifice of her personal time.

Jewels voice became very serious for a moment, a tone Karina had not really heard from her yet. “My job,” she said, “My job although rare, can get very dark,very fast, Oed is a relatively safe colony, but my job” she said, Karina was a well educated adult she knew what Jewels job meant. They all did but the experience of it was much different and overwhelmed people who were not meant for it.

“My job is constantly filled with what bad there is, some things though rare, evil beyond description” she turned to her and looked at her searching her for something .”I always lock it away in a relationship so my partner does not have to live it, I wanted this job I love it. But keeping it to myself, it’s a part of me, and ” she paused.

“I don’t want to keep anything from you, but you have to decide if you want to hear about the people, the ” she paused again thinking about some of the cases she had worked and started to say something else that Karina could tell was horrifying,

“The evils that I see, it effects me and there are going to be days where i’m emotionally not available, and ” her nervousness kicked in, “i’ll withdraw and i’ll push away, and i’ll be mean, and i’ll say things I don’t mean, i can be a mess, I don’t want you to” she caught her ramble. “I just need to know if you want me to share those things especially as we try to build something out of all this ” she said squeezing her hand “I’m sorry I know this is really intense for a first date, but I don’t have time or the will to start something that is not real, that is some fantasy I’m building in my head. I feel like we could have a real shot if we are just honest with each other, I thought about waiting to have the talk a few dates from now but i’m, I’m just so happy and ,, oh gosh I’m going to scare you away” she finally went silent

Karina set one finger over Jewel’s lips. “No, there is nothing to fear in honesty. Jewel,” Karina took both her hands. “You share what you are comfortable with. If it is too much, I will tell you.” She looked hard into her eyes, “Let me be clear. Your work being too much is NOT you being too much. Okay?”

Jewels lips stopped tight as Karina put her finger on her mouth, after the initial stop of her rant the feel of her finger on her lips sent a small shiver down her spine. Her eyes closed and rolled softly into her head, a small smile forming under the finger.

Karina felt Jewels entire body relax, so much so that she was wondering if Jewel had fallen asleep. “Ok” she sighed. “Back to having fun” she said the curling into Karina’s hold as much as she could.

Karina smiled with just a breath of laughter. “Good.” The ride continued for another few rotations before finally it was time to get off. Karina stepped out and then turned to help Jewel out before exiting the ride completely.

Holding her hand out the fingers together and tipped down she took Karina’s hand and stepped down hooking her arm through her’s as they walked.

The next was a ride called the Enterprise. A saucer where everyone stood with their backs against the outer wall. As the saucer spun faster and faster the force pushed the people up the wall and pinned them there.

Jewel spread her arms out trying to reach toward Karina but was firmly pinned to the back wall.. She laughed uncontrollably as the saucher spun around and tilted up and then back down.

As she was stepping off the ride she felt dizzy, she staggered into Karina.

Karina was equally dizzy and did her best to hold Jewel up as they staggered off the ride. She laughed as they weaved through the crowd to a bench near a food stall. “Water or citrus?”

“Citrus,please she said and watched her walk off, she is so amazing, and honest, I cant wait to tell tamsy she thought she was a little hot so she took her coat off for a few minutes.

Karina made her way to the stall with a laugh at herself. She returned a bit more steady with two ice cold carbonated citrus drinks. “Here.” She sat down and sighed. “I think I may be too old for those rides now.”

Jewel watched her every move as she went and came back, her eyes drinking her in, her heart even more so. “Oh thank you!” She shrugged, taking a sip. “Old? Hardly, cause that would mean I am, and I absolutely refuse!” She laughed bumping her shoulder. “I hope a little spinning doesn’t take you out of action, cause i’m going to work you so hard”

Karina’s brows went up and then she smirked with a glimmer of something in her eyes. “Do not threaten me with a good time.”

Karina’s response made Jewel excited she had no idea that Karina was that interested in the boxing lesso.. her face flushed realizing what Karina thought she meant and her face turned bright pink or at least as much as it could with her complection.

“I, so, I mean, I was talking about the yoga and boxing lessons, I didn’t mean to imply that i would, you know , or you would be ok with.” She swallowed. “I, mean I would but that’s not what i meant, I mean oh would I!” she snorted a laugh, ” but I meant, you know like boxing you move around your partner so you don’t get hit hard,” she looked the way Karina was looking at here,

” and ahh, I mean like boxing takes a lot of energy and moving around. I mean it’s not like I don’t want that too, I mean your so, well I mean, yum! ,so don’t think I don’t , cause I totally do, but I’m not a first date kinda gall, not that I mean you are, I mean we just met and I, I think that will happen maybe, but I ” she looked around trying to find something to focus one but there was nothing . “ok i’m going to stop talking now” she said lowering her face to the ground hiding her embarrassment and drinking her drink.

Karina watched and listened as Jewel stumbled over her words and flustered herself. She had known quite well what Jewel was talking about, but she couldn’t resist the urge to fluster her. She was so adorable. Karina touched Jewel’s chin gently with one finger and lifted her gaze. “I have never been described as yum. It certainly describes you.” With her other hand she gently brushed a stray tendril behind Jewel’s ear. “I did not think you were that kind of girl. And I am looking forward to early mornings in the gym with you. Do you like fun houses?” The question was a quick change, but Karina thought she might give Jewel a reprieve for a moment.
