Najma was nervous but she walked up to the receptionist’s desk in the most calm and confident stride she could manage. When she reached the desk, her face was fixed with a firm expression, exuding a calm authority.
“Good afternoon, I am Najma Moreino, a reporter here for an audience with the Governor or Lieutenant Governor,” she declared, as she focused internally to keep her voice steady and assured. The anxious flutter in her stomach was overpowered by her resolve as she introduced herself.
The lobby buzzed with the sounds of government workers in motion, but Najma did not let it distract her. “I require only a brief moment. My goal is to conduct a short interview for my podcast, which addresses the significant events unfolding in our colony,” she stated.
“My podcast serves the people of Oed, offering genuine and insightful coverage....not the sensationalism found in typical media.”
Najma met the receptionist’s gaze, “I trust that the leadership of Oed will see the value in granting a rising journalist such as myself a few minutes of their time.”
