Stepping out of the slider Alston took a moment to look around his surroundings. Nothing jumped out at him right away, but he wasn’t surprised. Both Starfleet security, and the CCDA had a presence in the building, so he’d hope they would pick up anything obvious.

Grinning to himself, Alston pulled out his PaDD and started a timer. He was curious just how long it would take someone to notice and react to him. With the clock ticking he started walking along the front of the building, looking closely at the windows and doors. When he reached the corner, he turned and continued his walk around the building. Not touching anything, but definitely being a little obvious that he was interested in the building.

While the Lieutenant Governor’s apartment and access to was all controlled by the CCDA (whom also had eyes outside), the building itself was managed by Starfleet. Thus, a gold uniformed officer appeared at the next corner, standing at parade rest and just gazing at Mace. They didn’t say anything, and there was no aggression. Just a note that they knew he was there and probably knew who he was.

A small smile appeared on Alston’s face as he noted the time, but he was willing to see how far he could push it. Following his inspection of the building he started snapping some holoimages of the exterior of the building, particularly where he could either see, or assume, where exterior sensors would have been located. As he finally made it to the corner, he nodded at the officer.

“Excuse me,” he said as he went to turn the corner, stepping around the officer to continue his inspection.

There were indeed sensors all around the building but they were very discreet and only someone with the right skill set and background knowledge would know where to find them.

“Sir,” the officer said, following. “Can we help you? You of all people should know that given the circumstances in the colony that stalking this building in particular would be provocative.”

Alston silently cursed. Apparently word had gotten out faster then he anticipated, that could cause some problems in the near future.

“And that’s why you are here, isn’t it.”

“Naturally, but there is someone patrolling the outside in one way or another at all times, especially given the increased state of security.”

Holding up his PaDD, he tapped a button ending the timer. “Decent. What’s the average response time to someone ‘stalking this building in particular’?”

“We have eyes on anyone that appears in proximity. Thirty seconds would be the average, depending on a couple variables. While Starfleet handles building security, there are additional security elements due to our VIP resident. More so as of recent events.” Those being the Vren arrival and the recent murder of the aide.

Alston nodded. “Perhaps we should continue this discussion somewhere a bit more, private. I have some questions regarding some activities that have occurred recently.”
