Ashran piloted the shuttle and landed it on the small pad on the edge of the activity. They had been busy while Caitlyn and he had been away. “They are really moving. Are you going to help cook tonight?” He asked as he guided her off the shuttle.

“Yes, I have really enjoyed working with everyone. But first I need to talk to Lord Capall. I know you want to see Susie…”

“I’ll take you.” Ashran scanned the area and spotted the 3 couples in the middle of it all. He led Caitlyn over.

“Caitlyn!” Revna spotted her first and hurried over to hug her. “How did it go? Are you alright?” Caitlyn looked flushed and nervous.

“Yes, yes, just a long day. I think it was promising though. I umm… Capall? Could… could I speak with you a moment?” Ashran met the other man’s gaze and grinned but looked at Caitlyn with heavy brotherly concern. Caitlyn had told him what had happened.

Capall looked at Rune with a questioning look, but said “Of course. Allow me.” He tooker hand and set it on his arm and began to guide her away from the bustling setting up and prepping of temporary housing; leading her to a dining area of dozens of picnic tables all laid out. He helped her find her seat, sat across from her, and said “Okay, we are alone… at least mostly. What can I do for you?” he asked.

Caitlyn gripped her hands together. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. Oh but she wanted to. She felt like she was asking her father to go on her first date, all over again. “The Governor asked me to have dinner with him tomorrow night.” She tugged her lower lip with her teeth. “At his private residence, not the Governor’s mansion. He said he doesn’t give the address out, but that I could give it to you, so someone would know where I was.”

Capall’s eyes widened in surprise. “Um… okay. Well… I… um…” he stammered for a few moments as his brain tried to catch up. This was not a conversation he had expected to be having with her… ever. “Um, would you be more comfortable speaking to Runa about this? I mean, you can still tell me where you will be… but… you know… matters like this aren’t really my forté.”

Caitlyn could tell she had made him uncomfortable. She felt wary now and equally bad for putting him on the spot. She would much have preferred to tell Ashran, and really she could. Kenzo couldn’t stop her, but she wanted to respect his privacy and security. “N… no. There isn’t really anything to tell. I just didn’t want to go somewhere where no one knew where I was. Old anxieties don’t die.”

“I’m sorry, Lord Capall, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I don’t have to tell you. I don’t want to put you in an even more uncomfortable position. Put of the options you were the only one I trusted.” She blew out a breath, “Sorry, sorry. I’m not trying to convince you.”
