“That sounds like a plan, Eela,” Séan replied warmly. “Taking it one day at a time and being mindful of your own needs will be key. And yes, please do reach out tomorrow, even if it’s just a quick check-in. I’m here whenever you need to talk, whether it’s about processing emotions or simply sharing how your day is going.”

He offered a reassuring smile, hoping to provide a sense of support amidst the challenges she faced. “You’re not alone in this, Eela. Remember that you have a strong support network behind you, and we’ll navigate through this together.”

Eela nodded. He kept repeating that sentiment and she wondered if he thought it would make her feel better. The reality was complicated. Yes, she was not alone, but there were also pieces f this that she was alone in, that she couldn’t share with everyone. It was solely her experience. Well, almost. The exception was Kenzo and that was a rather complicated situation they would have to work out later.

“Thank you again, Séan. I’ll reach later.”

And with that, she ended the call, the screen on his end going blank.

Séan watched as the screen blinked off, leaving him alone in his office once more. He couldn’t help but feel a twinge of concern for Eela, knowing the weight of the challenges she was facing. Yet, he also sensed her resilience and determination to navigate through the storm.

Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Séan reminded himself of the importance of providing support and guidance to those in need. He made a mental note to follow up with Eela as promised, ready to offer his assistance whenever she reached out.

With a sigh, Séan turned his attention back to his work, knowing that his role as a counselor demanded both patience and empathy, qualities he aimed to embody in every interaction.
