Eela gave herself a moment. Her inclination was to take care of things because it was her job, her duty. Right now, of all times, her being out of commission was not just inconvenient but an obstacle. But there was only so much she could do. Besides, currently of the three people able to talk to Kek directly, only one was legitimately able to she already had a rapport. =/\=Okay, Mathis will have to talk to him herself. We were hoping to give her a chance to process and deal with things, but she and I already notified Jones’ family. I will ask her to talk to the Ambassador- she’s expecting an update from me anyway.=/\=

=/\=Dorma,=/\= Eela said, breaking the formality. =/\=It’s okay to fill in Cort about my side of things. I will tell him more later when I’m able. Right now I am likely to stay put until I’m told otherwise. Orders and all,=/\= she said, breaking into a faint smile that sounded in her voice. As hard as it was to not act, she knew everyone around her cared deeply and their actions came from that place and had wisdom. She just never was very good at sitting around when there was work to do.

=/\= Understood, Captain. I will relay the information. And your equipment will be transported to the patio. I already have the coordinates. Take care of yourself, Eela. We are going to need you at a hundred percent sooner rather than later. =/\= and the comms went silent.

It was less than ten minutes later that the burn unit appeared on the patio. One of the silent yet ever present guards carried it up the stairs and set it in the hall between rooms before returning to his post on the patio.

Ilena took the burn unit, but until she saw what kind of reaction the burns had to more mundane treatment, she was hesitant to use it. The burns could clear on their own now that there was no psychic activity. Given the cause of the burns, the unit could also cause more damage. Psychic injuries were tricky. As she had told Sevren, the burns had been treated and would heal, it would just take longer. When Sevren had advised her to not wait if she was concerned, Ilena had to stop herself from stating that if it was that bad a mobile unit wouldn’t do it. She’d have the Governor transported to Sacred Heart by emergency transport.

Ilena and Yavia had a hushed conversation in the governor’s room, and then Yavia returned to Sharah. Ilena kept an eye on the readings on her tricorder and continued to treat his high temperature and the burns.

In the other room, Sharah was still out cold. Her body still showing signs of extreme physical and emotional stress. Yavia held her hand and tried not to worry. She hadn’t been out this long last time.

Hyrushi stirred, his mind clouded by pain and anxiety. He had trouble moving, not realizing that he was bandaged and being monitored. Slowly his eyelids fluttered and then opened; black eyes searching to get his bearings. He took mental stock of his physical state… hurt, but seemingly not injured. “Dasca?” wad the first word he said. “Did it work?” he asked no one in particular; buy assuming someone was in the room with him.

Hyrushi

Ilena lightly set a hand against his tattooed shoulder, where there were no burns. “Captain Dasca is just fine, Governor. You and Cmdr Fayth were successful.” Ilena gave him a moment to process that.

Her words had an immediate effect and Hyrushi visibly relaxed. “Good. That is… good.” he said softly.

“We had to give you anesthazine and a telepathic inhibitor for your own safety. You are very badly burned, Sir; please don’t move too much. If you are in pain,” and now that he was awake she could tell that he was, “I will give you something.”

Lt Ilena Rox
Surgical Nurse Oed V

“No.” Hyrushi said. “No thank you. I will be fine in a few hours, I am sure. I do appreciate your assistance.”

Hyrushi. Governor

“I have a mobile burn unit, but quite frankly it will take hours to treat the severity of the burns and a little at a time. It can only do small areas. I would like to take you to Sacred Heart and put you in the burn chamber. 40 minutes most and you’ll be finished.” She held a hand to prevent protest, “I do understand the need for privacy. I can arrange with Dr. Helaky to have you transported right to the chamber and back here afterwards. No one has to know you were there.” Ilena took a steady breath, “To be quite frank, Governor, you and Cpt Dasca can not both be down. Cpt Dasca is not fit to maintain her role as Lt Governor right now, though she is already trying to do so.”

Lt. Ilena Rox, Surgical Nurse

In the other room, Eela’s attention shifted and she gazed at the open door and exhaled a sigh. “I can feel Kenzo again,” she said, and something in her eased. She was still deeply concerned about Sharah but there was nothing she could do but sit in bed. She looked over at Karilan, reached out, and took her friend’s hand, gazing intently as she observed the sensation on her skin. “There are inevitable things that are going to have to happen. It won’t be long before the police will be wanting to talk with me, and I desperately want to help them figure out what happened to Dash. But they are going to want to talk to anyone who has had contact with him. That includes you and Mr. Torres. If I could shield you both from having to deal with that at all, I would, but I can’t, I know that. But…” But what? “I hate feeling this helpless. Every cell in my body wants to do something.” And yet she was exhausted by the weight of everything she had experienced and was still processing. But she was feeling it all, and as hard as that was, it was a good thing.
