Sharah laughed softly, “That is the truth. Oed is full of wonderful people.” She blew out a slow breath, gazing out at the garden, “Eela can use all the help we can all offer. I believe it would be a very good idea for you to be part of the process. Anyone who can reach her should be allowed to try. I would ask Ano to come, but he doesn’t know Eela at all. I can call Ilena, she knows Eela a little bit. Eela is very private, do you know of anyone else on the colony that is empathic/telepathic that we could ask to help?”

“Karilan Massat. They own a bookstore. Deltan. They and Eela are quite close, I believe.” Hyrsuhi replied almost immediately.

Sharah nodded, “Could you bring Massat here if they are willing to come? This is not without substantial risk, and they should be told that from the beginning. I will ask Ilena if she will come as well.”

There was a knock on the door as Yavia arrived with the equipment that Sharah requested.

Hyrushi moved to the door and helped with the totes, carrying them upstairs to Eela’s room and setting them outside.

Hyrushi, Governor

“Thank you for your help Governor,” Yavia said as she opened the door and quietly stepped in to the room. She paused by the bed and touched Eela’s inner wrist gently. Her brows drew together and she turned to look at Sharah. Sharah nodded silently at the concerned look.

“Let’s get this equipment set up. She’s been sedated for the moment, but let’s try not to wake her,” Sharah said quietly. It took about 20 minutes, with the two women working together, but the room was transformed into a temporary medical bay. Sensor pads were added to the bed to detect Eela’s vitals and hooked up to a display. A neural imager was attached to the head of the bed to specifically record brain wave and neural impulses throughout the body. On the dresser, Yavia set up several vials of medications and other emergency devices. But for all the equipment, they had taken great pains to keep it subtle and not so obvious. To keep the serenity and comfort of the room intact while ensuring Eela’s physical well being.

Sharah brought the PaDD monitoring Eela to Yavia and asked her to sit with the woman until they were ready. Then she found Kenzo again. “I’ve spoken to Lt Rox, Ilena, and she is willing to help. She’s at Sacred Heart right now.”

A few minutes later, the sensors gave a soft alert as Eela had another absence seizure, but just as before it caused no notable issues. She continued sleeping soundly.

Just after an hour from when she left, Caridee returned, carrying a couple bags of supplies and seeming calm and focused, despite her slightly red-rimmed eyes. In fact, there was a deep centred feeling emanating from her as she stepped back into the Governor’s place and sought out Fayth and Hyrushi. “How is she doing? Is she still sleeping?” she asked, setting the bags down and pulling out a PADD.
