“I wasn’t sure what to do with them and I don’t read Hillian, so I just took them off the heat. I hope that didn’t mess them up.” Yavia’s voice came from behind her as she came out of the den. She moved past the kitchen, “You look like you could use a drink. Have a preference. We have it all.” She asked as she stepped behind the bar and set two crystal tumblers on the bar top.
Yavia
Eela breathed evenly as she focused on measuring out ingredients. “Whiskey of any kind will do and don’t hold back, thank you,” she said softly. “And the mixture is steeped well, so it’s just fine.” She crumbled the dried petals of a dark purple flower in her fingers and sprinkled it over the surface of the water, letting an old song rise to the surface in a hum. She wasn’t sure what to say just yet, though she knew she needed to apologize (especially to Charles). Eela also knew that if she didn’t find the right way to communicate properly, this wouldn’t work for any of them and so for the moment she hummed (her voice holding a rich undertone) and worked.

Yavia dropped ice into her glass and then grabbed a bottle of Draylaxian whiskey from the shelf and poured full amounts for them both. She corked the bottle, but left it in the counter. She walked around the counter and set the glass next to Eela, but out of the way. She didn’t want to interrupt so she just stood out of the way but near enough if Eela wanted help, and sipped from her glass.
Yavia
Giving the mixture a stir, Eela moved over to the drink and knocked back a rather large amount of it, its smoothness hiding the heat as it slide down her throat. “Day drinking, just what the doctor ordered.”
Adding the last of the ingredients for the mixture, Eela’s mind was more open to things happening around her and the irony of the situation was not lost on her. Here was was feeling deeply ashamed for having caused anyone any pain and she could sense similarly intense feelings in the other room. This would not do. She turned to Yavia. “Can you keep an eye on this? Keep the heat very low and don’t let it simmer or boil, but a few bubbles are okay. Pull it off if it starts to do more and then put it back on after a minute or two. It’ll take a while to do its thing.” She looked to the den. “I need to do something right now,” she said, giving Yavia a rueful smile.
Moving off to the den, Eela gazed at Sharah. “I’ve got this,” she said softly.
Approaching the door, Eela rested her hand on the frame a moment before knocking. “It’s me. We can either tiptoe around each other the rest of the time, or we can talk it out. I vote for the latter.”

There was silence for a long moment and then the door opened and Tenkiller stepped out and owed the door behind him. The brief seconds it was open showed it to be a studio of some kind, with canvasas and an easel with a half-finished abstract of some convoluted lines and shapes.
Clearly he was private about the space and she wouldn’t intrude but the bride glimpse she saw of the work in progress felt oddly familiar, though she couldn’t place exactly how.
He didn’t look at or speak to Eela. He walked past her, through the den, to the dining room and bar. He retrieved a bottle and a single glass, and then walked out the front door… but he left it open.
Tenkiller
Eela blew out a breath and understood. She gave Sharah a ‘wish me luck’ look and moved out of the den.
She stopped in the kitchen and knocked back another third of her glass and refilled it before following Charles out the door. Certain thoughts had come to a place that made sense for her. Regardless of how this conversation went she did actually know how she wanted to proceed with the video. It actually made the most sense out of any action she could do.

Tenkiller was sitting on the middle of the three wide steps that led to the front door from the drive. The bottle sat, open, next to him and the glass was in his hand. He was looking out into the trees and was very, very still.

Eela sat down carefully beside him, though she inwardly cringed. Yeah, Jal’na was going to do a lot of grumbling about the state of her back and shoulder. She sipped heavily from her glass before sighing. “First off, I am so very sorry my words caused pain. It wasn’t my intent but it still happened and sadly it’s not the first time by a long shot. If I crossed a boundary with you, that’s not okay. And you are always free to tell me so. In many ways, it’s so much easier when people do. My brain can shift, adjust. I can learn, it’s just been a much harder lesson to learn, and I’ve had a lot of anger these last years. It was never meant for you.”
