“The celebration will be in a week Oed time.” Urg said. “You are welcome to join or send a representative. We would be honored for the presence. But know this: House Duroc will stand by House Noggra as an ally.” and he grinned at Noggra. “Whether or not that is an honor is up to you!” and he roared with laughter, as did Lord Noggra who banged his fist on the table so hard the screen shook. “We are united in purpose and now by blood! House Noggra claims House Duroc as an ally, as one of our own born to the House Noggra is now the FIRST Lady of House Duroc!” and he laughed louder still and then suddenly fell silent and looked at the screen.
“Reciprocal honor… gotta love it.” and the screen went blank.
House Duroc and Noggra
Jal’na looked at Urg. “I feel as if I am unaware of information. He is pleased though, and you are as well?”
Jal’na
“How could I not be?” he asked with a smile. “I have you. And soon we will have ten barrels of sooner of the finest Blood Wine. I am ecstatic.” He then said “So what do you want to do now? Move? Or do we need another fight to see who moves who?” and he laughed.
Urg
Jal’na grinned. “We do not need a fight for that. That apartment is tiny, and you would not be comfortable there. The furniture is much to flimsy to have fun with as well. Now would be a good time to move. Everyone is at the hospital or sleeping.” Then she looked at him, a look he would come to recognize very quickly, “We don’t really need a reason to ‘fight’. If you want one, I can move and then we can fight over how I am moving all of your things to make room for mine. Or that I have stolen a room for an infirmary, or our differing tastes in poetry.” Then she laughed.
Jal’na
Urg walked up to her and took her chin in his hand and held it firm, but not painfully. “The only reason I would want to fight with you is so that we could make up.” and he grinned wickedly. He kissed her, bit her lip, and then stepped away. “Moving. Let us get that done.” He tapped the bracer on his wrist and said “Get ten ready to assist Lady Duroc in moving her things from her old apartment to our rooms. And have a team 9n the ship ready to assist her as well.” He looked at her and said “Well? Go move. I will prepare your office here and also find a space for you to start a medical area.” and he simply turned and strode out of the room.
Urg, Lord Duroc
Office? She had an office, at work, she did not need....oh…yeah she supposed she did. For what she didn’t know yet, but there it was. Aaannnndddd he was gone before she could agrue she did not need TEN people to assist her in moving. Ten people standing about as she attempted to pack…there would be no room to move in her tiny apartment. She didn’t think she had 10 boxes of stuff to take with her. Well there was the chair.
She stepped out of his office and was met by a mixture of species, all wearing the crest of House Duroc and massive. She stopped. She really did not need 10 people’s help. How much stuff did Urg think she had. She refrained from dismissing them though. She would hate to slight them, and she remembered the pride in being chosen to help Lady Noggra. Perhaps that did not carry here though? “The apartment is quite small. I do not think we will all fit, but if you wish come along.” She headed toward the main door and was stopped. “Lady Duroc, the sliders are this way. Parked underground.”
A slider…of course. Changes. “Of course.” She turned and headed toward the back lifts of the embassy.
“You do not like the slider, Lady Duroc?” one of the men asked.
Bah! She was not ‘Lady’ she was just Jal’na. Well not any more she supposed. “I have no objection to the slider, really. I just never use them. I always walk.” She stepped into the lift…it was crowded. She had met none of these individuals during her tour the previous day. “Tell me who you are and your story.” Jal’na was usually good at such things, remembering those details people gave her. No time like the present to start.
