Sloane Square- A Fine Day for a Pause

Posted by Captain Eela Dasca (Lt. Governor) in Sloane Square- A Fine Day for a Pause
As expected, everything was a flurry of activity with the announcement of the Vren. Eela could feel the heaviness of the suspicion and fear, but also the curiosity. the emotions were strong though and it was a lot to process and filter as she went about her day.

She needed a break. And so she ventured into Sloane Square on this lovely temperate day, coffee in hand, and took a seat on a bench under one of the large trees. She slipped her coat off and draped it across her lap, crossing a leg over the other knee and leaned back. Her security detail flanked her without being too close that she couldn’t have some time to herself, but with recent events she had noticed that they had crept in a bit closer than usual. It was expected and she was just grateful that they were good at masking their feelings. It gave her a small buffer around her where she didn’t have work hard to keep her mind clear.

Oed V sure was… different. That was the main thought that the green and gold Risan parrot, Hinky, had during his flyover of the area near where he’d broke free from his (former) friend, Ditka Starrrr.

He looked over the colony with an appraiser’s eye.

Something was going on. But, being the newest of new arrivals and a psittaciform nonsapien species, his goals were quite different from the men and women he saw walking (pathetic!) below him.

He lit on a tree in a central area and tried to figure out a plan. First on his mind was shelter and a source of fruits or insects, and he sure as heck wasn’t going to the Golden Klaxut Market.

What he needed was someone that looked rich. Someone with fruits.

And as luck would have it, he spotted what looked like a sapien of some sort–he’d never seen her species but the woman had a bump on the bridge her nose–settle on a bench. Nice coat. Bodyguards. Rich!

With his wings, he adjusted his gold cochlear ornaments and crest feathers, and lit down to the bench, putting on his most pleasant expression–for a parrot– his mouth slightly agape and head tilted. He perched on the edge and waited to be noticed.

After all, how many pretty birds are there on Oed V?
