Karina had not spoken with Hoka in some time. Though she continued to submit forms and requests for the incoming teachers and such and they continued to be approved. However plans for the business school were finalized and soon to be opened. Since the school was being named after him she thought he should be the first to tour the new building.

She sat at her desk and typed a quick invitation.

Good morning Hoka,

I do hope that you are doing well and the Zoo continues to prosper. I was hoping you would join me on the university campus today or tomorrow, when your schedule permits.

Hoka just got back for a geology expedition that lasted six months and was getting back in the swing of things when he got a message from Karina. “Oh! Well of course I can!” He sent out the reply. =/\= I would love to come over today around 2pm and the Zoo is doing fantastic! I cannot wait to see what you have done since I have been away.

HE took a sonic shower and got dressed in his favorite suit and went out to meet her.

Hoka

At just before 2pm Karina left her office and took the lift down to the main lobby. She was wearing a dark purple, almost blue, slacks, a light pink blouse, and flat pumps. Seeing Hoka stepping through the doors, Karina made her way over, grasping both his hands and giving a firm squeeze, a traditional Cairn greeting. “Hoka! It is good to see you. What have you been doing these last months?”

Enger

He was very pleased to see her as well and was equally gleeful when he saw her. “I have been outside the dome so to speak, in the unexplored territories looking for minerals and the like, surveying for future towns and cities and just basically trying to get away from the office. I am glad that my assistant was able to keep up with you for the University and help pay. I did not expect to be gone as long as I did, and I apologize for not letting you know my whereabouts. Please forgive me.”

Hoka

“Hoka, do not apologize. We all need our diversions. It sounds that your trip was…” Karina paused for the word, “enjoyable?” She moved over to a cafe cart. “We have fuzzgourd and Eelwasser if you would like some?”

“Your assistant has been mmmarvelous. I am glad that you were able to come today. I have missed our chats.”

Rubbing his stubby little hands together and grinning showing his razor sharp teeth. “I would love some! Thank you!” He went over to the cart and picked up some. “You want some as well?” After placing a couple pieces on the small plates provided, he continued. “My trip was enjoyable. That would be the correct word. It was a lot of hard work and hiking to survey, but it gave me a better understanding of the terrain then by simply scanning it from a ship. I have outlined areas that I wish to start mining at and to help OED with planning more cities. It has been expressly forbidden for me or Zerbo to buy land and then resell or lease it to companies. Although I hate to lose out on all of that profit, the Governor is correct as Zerbo and I could literally buy all the available land on this whole planet. It would be unfair to the other parties. We can however assist with their trading and help finance their new adventures, so in the end, we would still make a very good profit. I project that with the revenue from two of the mines, I want, will provide for all of the schools and zoo’s needs and then some.” He just remembered something. “I am sorry my dear. I have missed our chats as well and here I am just babbling away. What have you been doing since I have been away? How have you and your daughter been?”
