“I do appreciate a person of efficiency,” Dasca said as she rose and stepped around the desk to stretch her back. She was very glad for her foresight in suggesting they order dinner. She had a bunch of calls to make in order to get her side of things squared away and there was no point running back and forth between offices.

Hands on her hips as she stretched out her neck, Eela turned back to gaze at Kenzo, breaking into a soft smile. Something else had shifted today and she couldn’t pinpoint it exactly but it made her feel more grounded on this colony. It was like she finally pulled those threads from her starship captain days and found the way to weave them into her work here. Those threads were the essence of Eela the Leader. For better or worse she was knee deep in the more with them all and it rather delighted her. “I think I might be enjoying all this too much.”

Kenzo shrugged slightly and said “Why Ms. Dasca, I do not believe you shared your fondness for pain before.” sarcastically. “This is a work place, Lieutenant Governor. We do have an Employee Relations officer I could report you to.” and he gave a dry chuckle.

She held up her hands defensively. “Hey, to each their own.” Eela moved back towards the desk. “Besides, it wasn’t an invitation,” she deadpanned, though inwardly was highly amused. It was interesting to compare their first meeting with their banter now. My how things had changed.
