It wasn’t anything she wasn’t sharing with everyone already, so Halai didn’t hesitate to speak, though she seemed to take her time to find to her words. “Because though she was taken against her will, Kristina seems to be there now of her own volition. Which makes no sense because I’m missing key information. But more than that, Kristina and I have a complicated history. We share a father, but I was conceived on Tyrellia while my father’s wife and children were elsewhere. It was, in Human terms, an affair. Kristina and I are slowly building a relationship that our parents made nearly impossible but as adults we get to choose how it is shaped. Most of the time, anyway. My step-mother does not make it easy, ever.”

Akem moved his minute massaging from one of her hands to the other. “I can see why it might make you feel that way. The unknowns are never easy to contend with before finally being made known.”

Even though the subject matter was difficult, there was a tangible shift in her energy he’d be able to feel and if he paid any attention to it, he’d realize it was not just her overall state relaxing, but a distinct and almost separate source that had its own imprint that was clearly connected to Halai. At the moment it was glowing.

He then took both of his hands and rubbed his palms up her arms as he indicated to grip the chair’s arms lightly. “Am I too assume those very same unknowns are keeping you worried and somehow excited?” he asked curiously, his eyes meeting her every now and then. He allowed his mental ease to trickle into his hands’ ministrations.

Halai was utterly open and it was clear in her gaze that she was receptive to his energy, but probably more aware of it than most others ever were. “Yes. My last visit to Tyrellia was very special and I learned so much about myself then. The people there who saw to that are ones I’m connected to deeply, even more so than all Tyrellians are connected to each other and the planet. But because I fear that some of the bad things that happened to me are a result of those same people, I’m… conflicted. And I don’t know what I will do if that is indeed the reality.”
