Right at the end as he finished Revna moved right over to him, to the baited breath of everyone watching, and then past him with a wicked grin, and everyone laughed. She whispered to Kirsten who pointed at Canary and Revna nodded. There was some back and forth and then Canary nodded, talked to Bubba and they both grinned. Canary picked up the fiddle and slow beautiful music came from it then joined by an acoustic guitar. Revna glanced at the gathered crowd and almost lost her nerve…what was she doing? “Sit down, the lot of you, chieftess’ orders.” There was laughter and she looked at Mike, “You too.” Then in a swirl of skirts she sat down, three feet away from him. She sat facing only him. “I love you Mike.”

The road now leads onward

She set her hand, palm up on the step between them, she’d meet him in the middle any day. She’d probably let him win the bet…maybe. And she winked at him.

Mike listened and moved with the music, and even she finished he shook his head and smiled. He stood up, looked at her and said “You… you’ve been holding out on me.” and he walked towards her with arms outstretched…

And then went past her and grabbed the acoustic guitar in an embrace. The crowd cackled and Mike grinned. He looked at Bubba and Canary and said “You two take a break… Im serenading my wife.” and he began to play, walking slowly towards Revna and then sitting down not a foot from her.

Revna laughed with the rest of them. And then made a little motion with her hand that drew attention to how close he’d gotten, and that drew more laughter and a few whistles. Revna listened as he began to play, she knew this one. She reached for her bodhran sitting near them and picked it up, the dress shifting a bit and she grinned at him and began to play softly with him. And then when he began to sing her voice joined his. The sound of them together moved the whole crowd to utter silence.

Oddvar found Tara, and moved over to stand next to her, and very quietly, “Tara, you had a hand in making that boy…” he didn’t say anything else…he was crying…
Ragan stared dumbfounded at her older sister, holding on tight to Seamus’ hand…

Everyone was quiet for several long moments. Revna wasn’t paying them a bit of attention. She leaned in towards him....

Then the crowd went Crazy. If their cheers and chants were loud before it was nothing compared to this. It was felt and heard from the roots to the highest branches of the world tree.
