Kord nodded. “Either of these two devices, if detonated within the ship, would most certainly vaporize the ship as it was pushed into subspace in every direction at once. These aren’t conventional explosives. These will cause subspace turbulence over the whole system for a couple of days with such intensity that moving through it in low warp will be hazardous and moving at high warp will rip the traversing vessel to shreds.”

Kord slapped the side of one casing, “There’s two because it’s always good to have a back up when possible.”

Kord looked at Remi, “The Captain wants someone on the helm and I believe you have the necessary skills. Please report to the bridge.”

“Aye aye, sir” Remi replied with a nod of acknowledgement. He put down the calibration padd he had been using and left the shuttle bay. While he navigated the corridor with ease, his thoughts were a jumble. It is a big step to go from being a shuttle jockey to flying a starship. Sure the basic controls are the same; x, y, and z axis control. But the skill is putting it all together to get where you want to go. Taking a few deep breaths in the turbolift helped to settle his nerves.

“Lieutenant Ezial.” Kord said turning to the woman who and so casually bumped him, “I’m giving you a field promotion to Chief Engineer. We’ll make it official at a more appropriate time.

Nkosenye tightened the last coupling and said “Congratulations. May we live long enough to make it official.” and he looked at Kord. “This one is ready, Sir.”

Kord nodded, “Then we’re done. All that’s left is to position them.”

Kord commed the bridge, =^=Captain, the subspace torrent bombs are ready. We need to be at least one AU away when we set one off. The second is a back up in case the first fails. We do not want to set off two of these at the same time.=^=

Glen made reply =/\= Very Good… We are now approaching the third planet in the system. There are some anomalous readings beneath the surface so I’m going to send a landing party down to investigate further… These bombs? Where were we thinking of directing them? We have no idea where or when the ‘Dark Serpent’ will appear. That is their tactical advantage over us. Subspace is huge. Sending one bomb at random is unlikely to achieve anything? =/\=

Nkosenye looked at Kord. “With your permission, I will assist on the Away Team.” and he stood and began brushing himself off.

OOC: Kord can you remind me please how these are launched? I assume they’re not in standard torpedo casings given the earlier parts and descriptions. So I figure they gotta be forcefully ejected out a shuttle bay door or something? Just need to know for the future fight.
