Cross woke up she had slept for less then half an hour ,swinging her feet of the biobed the CMO had hoped that the ship’s power would have been restored but apparently everything was still the same . Looking around the doctor saw those that came to sickbay had decided to stay there for it was more practical and convenient as they had nowhere else to go and the candles did offer some light .

Cross picked up her stethoscope and went to check on her patients.

Cross listened to Steve’s breathing with her stethoscope ‘’ The partially collapsed lung seem to be inflating ‘’. The patient nodded ‘’I do feel much better , in fact I got my apatite back can I have something to eat !’’ the CMO thought best to ignore him less she looses what little sanity she had left ‘’ Kate shall come and clean your wound from the screwdriver and put on a new dressing ‘’.

She next went to see how the patient who was brought unconscious was doing ,to her surprise he was holding a cup of coffee ‘’Who gave you that? ‘’ she asked pointing to the cup .
‘’Oh it was that kind nurse over there’’ he pointed to Kate ‘’Its cold but I don’t mind ,say doctor I still cannot see properly for your eyes are still red’’ he added.

And that was the straw that broke the camel’s back ‘’That’s because they are red!’’ Cross hollered out ,adding some colorful words in her native language .

Morris was listening to D’Nesh and Faith when he heard Dr. Cross start yelling about her eyes. He headed over to see what was happening. “Everything alright, Doc? Do you need some assistance?”

Morris would find Cross taking deep breaths for she knew she had to calm down .

“Everything alright, Doc? Do you need some assistance?”.

The CMO looked up at the security ‘’ That’s really kind of you but.....’’ the doctor stopped as did everyone else . It started with a low humming noise and just like that the lights came back on ,the biobeds were showing the patients life signs ,it was as if the ship had come back to life again .

The somber atmosphere was replaced by cheers ,those that had found refuge in sickbay started to leave ,while Cross smiled and told Morris ‘’ We can now do your medical, no rush when ever you’re ready ‘’. Taking out her cell phone hoping it would get through she waited for Joe to answer.

The Doctor found the call went through.

Joe was at that moment sitting on a chair with his feet up on the bar top and sipping a root beer. He was also half asleep until his comm on the bar top went off. ” Yeah this is Joe.” He answered grumpily.

=/\= Oh don’t worry my dear I’m fine =/\= Cross responded sarcastically =/\= Well mister grumpy I called to see if you are okay and still alive , anyway I’m sending D’Nesh to the bar , she has been safe in sickbay since the power went out =/\=.

Their pillow talk was interrupted by a message from the Bridge.

With the XO still indisposed, Kahuna addressed the whole ship =/\= This is the Bridge. Lieutenant Kahuna speaking. We have taken the Merrimack further away from the Ardan V colony and out of it’s zone of influence. As the Warp Engine power is restored, you should find that systems will return - lights, communications and other systems. Please make damage reports and we can begin to make necessary repairs. Science department will continue to investigate the source of the problem. kahuna out! =/\=

• Kahuna, at the Conn

A few minutes later Joe strolled into sickbay. He had heard that Miriam had quite the group of people assembled up her. He and D’Nesh had been busy assembling a large try with a rather large assortment of sandwiches, Joe set the platter on a biobed and announced to no one in particular. ” There we go there should be something in there for anyone. ” He kissed Miri on the cheek then and asked after her health.

Cross was mortified ,she could not believe he had kissed her in front of everyone ‘’Joe please leave such sentiments and affection when no one is around ‘’ she said in a low voice so no one could hear her ‘’ As for my health I’m fine and I’m glad you are okay too and thanks for bringing the food ‘’ the CMO glanced at where he left it ‘’ It won’t last long ‘’ she commented seeing most of the crew who had been in sickbay return.

Morris took a seat on the bed and waited for Cross. “Whenever you’re ready Doc. Figure I’d best get a clean bill of health and then check in at the bridge. Since power’s back, Kahuna might need a few more hands.

‘’Rightly so ‘’ Cross replied as she took the medical tricoder ‘’ Is there anything I should know before I start? ‘’ the female doctor asked ‘’Except that you are excellent at climbing and descending the jeffries tubes !’‘.

He saw Joe comein with the sandwiches and smiled, “I’ll look into sampling some of your cooking sir, but might have to wait till a calmer time. Would hate to arrive at the bridge with half a sandwich caught in my throat, ay?”

‘’That is if there is anything left when the medical is over ‘’ Cross responded with a hint of humor in her tone .

Morris, Security.

Morris gave a chuckle and then said, “I don’t have anything notable, I don’t think. Nice of ya to ask tho, rather than just scanning and seeing yourself..”

As Morris laid on the biobed Cross stopped momentarily ,she looked at the security with a smile on her face and there was something in those red eyes of hers ,was it kindness,warmheartedness? . Past medicals where done with her not even knowing the name of those that came to sickbay ,sometimes not even knowing which dept they would be allocated too but here was a young man who had willingly helped her with the patient and for that she was grateful.

The CMO started scanning.........
OOC: Does the scan pick anything up?.

“Since the emergency is over, I’d like to be excused now,” asked Faith. “I need to feed Ginger and check if there is any damage to the Captain’s Quarters and his Map Room and Ready Room. Then I wouldn’t mind a decent meal myself!”

‘’Yes of course Faith and thanks for the help ‘’ Cross replied.
“I need to feed Ginger ‘’.

‘’Better find him , cause if it died the Captain would be inconsolable ‘’ she teased ‘’And wait for me to join you for lunch, let D’Nesh or Joe know so to prepare something delicious ‘’.

Morris laid in the bed patiently, his attitude upbeat and optimistic. He was always one to find the bright side of things. “If everything looks alright, I’ll head up to the bridge to report to the Conn. If you ever need security, don’t hesitate to call on me, Doc.”
