OOC: Okay, This thread is way too long and convoluted, I’m going to tidy this up, and bring back the two subthreads together again…
I’ve also added all the additional posts. USE THIS THREAD.

“Please Dr, Kim,” Faith implored him, “You should come and lie down on one of the biobeds and I’ll take a look at your back. With your permission, I can give you some heat therapy to ease the pain?”

‘’Leave me alone ‘’ the doctor muttered ‘’How could I have slept in sickbay with all this noise!’‘.

To Kate, Faith said, “Someone needs to go back and help Dr. Cross bring her patient to Sickbay. Why are there no Security down here to help us?”

Morris walked into sickbay to a bit of commotion. A little out of place, having recently come aboard, he made his way to the nurse. In his Scottish brogue he said, “Excuse me, Miss, can I be of some assistance? I believe I’m meant to be down for a medical exam, but I’m sure it can wait if you’re in need of help.”

“You’re a sight for sore eyes,” said Faith. “I could kiss you! ” Faith didn’t intend that to mean that she literally wanted to kiss Clifford, but rather that she was feeling a very strong positive emotion towards him, and overjoyed at his arrival. “Doctor Cross needs help with a patient. They’re up a Jeffries Tube and she can’t carry him alone.”

Kate the nursing officer looked at both Faith and the new comer ‘’I’m afraid you have to wait for your medical,it cannot be done nothing is working .As for the injured man I believe Cross does not want to move him with a partially collapsed lung at least not for now,its not going to be an easy task getting him through the tubes there is hardly enough space for one person’’ at this point she sat down looking at the candles here and there as the only source of light ‘’I don’t know what is happening ,I feel so incompetent ‘’ covering her face with both hands Kate started crying.

Morris gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Now, hold on there, dear,” he said, “I realize I’ve joined you all in the midst of pickle, but I’m sure we’ll get through this. Let’s just take a moment and see what needs tending to.” With that, Morris pulled out a small flashlight and began to shine it about the room. “It’s been a bit since my Academy medical training, but I’m sure I can make do in a pinch. Just let me know what I can do for you two.”

“Kate you’re doing a outstanding job here, running this place single-handed,” Faith told Kate. Faith then turned to Clifford. “I’m Faith, this is Kate. It’s been a difficult morning. If what Kate said is right, then best to leave Dr. Cross with her patient where they are… but there is still work to do here. We have a corridor full of crew with minor injuries, and somehow we need to triage them in the dark to separate those who need urgent care and those who could go to their Quarters and rest up.”

Kate nodded a she wiped her tears ‘’You’re both right we have work to do,there is already a patient who hit his head and was brought unconscious ,Cross did everything she could but was worried about any bleeding in his brain with nothing working there was no way of knowing .Then a female came in with a broken arm, the bone protruding from the skin .The CMO and myself took her to the theater and fixed it in the old way fashion that is in a cast ,so if one of you could see if she needs anything or is in pain…’’ the nursing officer reminded them that there was still a doctor in sickbay .

who could go to their Quarters and rest up, thought Kate. ‘Faith that might not be possible ,some are locked inside while others cannot enter their cabins ,this is taking longer then we expected so lets save what torches and candles we still have ‘’.

“Aye, Ma’am,” Morris said as he headed out into the hall, “Alright lads!” He shouted out at the awaiting crewman, “If you’re needing sickbay, come to the light and we’ll get you triaged!” The crewmen began to move towards the darkness towards his light. As they’d gathered around him, Morris began to look them over to try and discern who needed help and who could be sent on their way. It was slow going, but he figured it should help free up Kate and Faith to actually treat the men without having to take it all on themselves. As he said, it had been a while since his Starfleet Academy medical training, but he’d been in enough scrapes while in security to make him a good judge of injuries. He may not be the best at treating them, but he could work a triage.

“Okay, we can’t send them back to their Quarters if they can’t get in,” Faith agreed. “Two options: First Option: We open up the Cargo Hold. It’s still set up for an emergency since the last missions. Second option: We give out numbered tickets and work through them all that way. I suggest option two will work best.”

‘’I agree , most of the injuries are superficial its not as if the ship had been attacked .Faith and I are quite capable of dealing with them , those that are outside simple came to be around the other crew and if someone is badly injured doctor Kim would take over ‘’ Kate replied.

Meanwhile Cross came down from the tubes and on seeing Morris told him to assist her in bringing down Steve ‘’ Listen the best way is for me to go down first , then the patient and lastly you, that way you can assist him from the shoulders while I do so from his lower limbs ,he’s strong enough to take the ladder one step at a time .If he gets tired we’ll stop long enough for him to rest…understood?’‘.

Morris saw Cross and quickly made his way over to assist with the wounded crewman. “Alright lad, let’s get you going,” He said as he helped the injured man up and brought him to the ladder of the Jeffries tube. “Ookay, one rung atta time.” Together, they began to climb.

So Cross entered the tube again followed by Morris ,there she found Steve sitting up ‘’I’m getting fed up in here ‘’ he muttered with the oxygen mask on top of his head . She introduced Morris to him ‘’He’s here to help you get down and to a more comfortable place on a bio bed in sickbay ‘’ but before they moved him the CMO listened to his breathing with the stethoscope ,then checked his blood pressure .

‘’We are going to help you get up and you take it slowly going down the ladder ,if you feel tired say so we’ll give you time to rest ‘’.
She looked at the security ‘’Ready ?’‘ .

“I’m ready to go.” Morris said helping the crewman to Cross’s direction, “Let’s get you out of here, ay?” Morris began to help the crewman down the ladder.

Slowly and with care the patient managed to go down the ladder with the help of Morris and Cross ‘’Good job Steve you made it ‘’. The CMO heaved a sigh of relief ,Kate come out of sickbay to assist him in getting on one of he biobeds .

‘’Morris could you please do one more thing and get the oxygen cylinder he had down to sickbay?’‘.

Cross CMO.

Morris gave a nod and said, “Aye, Ma’am.” and went to retrieve the cylinder.

Cross went to check on the patient who was brought unconscious and decided to do a neurological test .The first one wasn’t pleasant but it had to be done , she pressed hard on both sides of his temple , seeing that the patient winced in pain was a good sign .He eventually stirred opening his eyes ‘’Hello there welcome back , how are you feeling ?Does your head hurt and if so where? ‘’.

He gave a slight nod .The CMO proceeded with the neurological exam ‘’Follow my finger ‘’ to her relief he did so without any problems. ‘’Look at me , what color are my eyes?’‘. Had she thought about it Cross would not have asked the dumbest question she could have possible asked.

‘’R…r..red ....doctor why am I..I’m seeing the color red what is wrong with m..my eyes ?’’ the poor man asked confused.

When Morris returned with the cylinder, he found the doctor at the crewman’s bed. He walked over just in time to hear the man ask about his eyes.

OOC:Actually its Cross eyes that are red,if you read the BIO you’ll understand .

‘’Thanks Morris for all your help ‘’ the CMO told him while putting the oxygen mask back on the patient’s face ‘’I think I’ll rest a bit I do feel tired..its not like me ‘’ she tailed off forgetting that she was in the beginning of her second trimester .

Morris would feel someone pulling at his shirt ,it was the ex Orion slave ‘’Hi I’m D’Nesh do you know where I can find Joe the barman ?’’ she asked clearly oblivious to the dire situation they were in.
