USS Merrimack
Main Sim - Ardan V - Landing spot

Glen spoke up, “Listen up everyone. We have no communication with the ship. That means that we can’t ask them to beam us up, so effectively we are marooned here. It’s possible that our other instruments are faulty too. That might also explain why they have a problem with the mining machines down here. As Stella quite rightly says, the answers will come from communicating with people in the old fashioned way, so lets go inside and find someone in charge to speak to. Keep together, don’t go wandering off and follow me.”
Glen began walking towards the door to the building, opened it and went inside.
The doors of the building swung open at their approach and as they looked around inside the building they saw it was set up with stations that went around the circumference of the building. It appeared that the stations had something to do with running the mining equipment and all was in chaos. People hollered back and forth and worked frantically in opened panels as they apparently tried to get the machines to work properly again. A tall, grey haired and bearded man stood in robes in the middle of the chaos barking out orders. It would appear that he was in charge of the chaos and the one to speak too.
The security just kept an eye on everything that was going on ,after all he was there to protect the Captain and his team. Not to mention obeying orders from his D’H.
Hunter had been walking behind the Captain , he looked around at the chaos surrounding him .Seeing the one giving orders. he figured he was the one the Captain would soon approach.
Ashley was next to Hunter also right behind the captain as well. Thinking to herself wondering what might happen around their surroundings.
Captain Glen walked straight up to the tall, grey haired and bearded man, who stood in robes in the middle of the chaos, barking out orders, and he asked, “We are here to speak to Advisor Platus-Leader of the Mining Colony on Ardan V please?”
The older, human man turned quickly and his eyes widened as he saw the Starfleet uniforms.
“Arda be praised! Starfleet! You heard us? You received the distress call? Half the time we can’t get anything out of the comms but static! Who are you?” He demanded as it was obvious that the man was under a lot of stress and pressed by time. So much so he wasn’t offering the usual polite introductions.
Hunter rubbed his chin when he heard the Captain saying please, the doctor would have preferred to see Glen grabbing the man from the throat and shaking him instead.
Lance stood at the back he was looking at the any of the displays he could see to see if there was something going on on the miners screens. If the same issue plaguing their communications to the ship
Unfortunately there was nothing on the screens but static. It was apparently what had everyone in a lather. It was obvious that power was making it to the systems but it seemed as if the proper signals or programs were not running on the screens. Technicians were yelling at each other as they reported all conduits and equipment were in working order. They could not understand why nothing was working properly.
Stella stood as ordered at the back of everyone. Thus far the only that had happened was Dr. Creepy putting his hands on her. She looked around at their scenery and sighed. She liked the outdoors and sunshine. She did though miss being at her workstation recording the sounds of the universe. She decided then to go back to scanning anything around her that wasn’t trying to hurt her. She did love to record data and store it.
Unfortunately Stella’s scanner did not appear to be scanning anything. It was if it was being entirely jammed now too.
“I am James T Kirk of the Federation starship USS Merrimack,” Captain Glen replied. “Yes, Starfleet did hear your distress call and we have been sent here to help your colony. My ship and crew are at your disposal, although we are also experiencing intermittent communications problems too… But you’ll need to tell us exactly what the problems are here… these acts of sabotage, unexplained equipment failures, and you still have me at a disadvantage… You now know my name, but I still don’t know your name, and we were told to report first to an Advisor called Platus? Is he still the administrative head of Ardan Five? And please can we go inside somewhere? It’s a little hectic and chaotic out here to talk or to have a very productive discussion.”
