At which point, his communicator chirped and he opened it.

=/\= **** =/\= All he got was Static.

Glen replied =/\= Doctor Cross? =/\= There was only more static in reply.

Glen wondered, What if the technical problems of the mining colony could be related. What if machines were interfered with like the Comms?

Ashley Walker said, “Captain. I don’t know if it’ll help, but I would like to help anyway. I can even help out up there on the ship if need be. Help see what is going on and see if I can unlock it. With your permission of course captain. But if not, I will understand I’ll stay here and help here.” She said with some uncertainty.

Eros shook his head. “Ummm . . . how you planning on getting back? We can’t contact the ship to Transport us.”

“Just remain with the landing party,” Glen replied. “And I want us to stick close together.”

Unfortunately, the members of the away team would find the Communicators not working, full of static. Any attempt to beam out would be unsuccessful. The entire team was marooned on the planet until a solution was found out. The doors of the round building waited.

As the group set off toward the indicated building, the Helmsman asked, “Did anybody take continuous scans of the area? Did the static and interference increase as we got closer to the facility?”

“That’s the first time I have attempted to communicate with the ship,” Glen replied. “We haven’t been here long enough to make a check-in call yet. But Communications from the ship to the Colony didn’t work earlier, either. I wonder if it is widespread and is connected with other machinery faults… but you’re welcome to see if it has some source… if it’s stronger or weaker in different directions.”

‘’I’ll try again and see if the static interference increased or decreased ,” and with that Hunter held his medical tricorder in the direction of the said building.

Stella looked into the door into the building where that nice fellow had disappeared wondering what was going on in there. Wondering as well why everyone out here was having so many problems and just wanting to scan things. With everything breaking down or only working half of the time couldn’t this extend to the scanners they were using. She then turned to the Helmsman and asked him. ” Who’s to guarantee that the scanners are working if nothing else is? Couldn’t it be possible we’d be getting false readings? ”

“Good point,” Glen replied, “But we won’t know until someone tries, and that would be a good thing to know anyway, so I’ll let Hunter and Dionysovitch try.”

There Stella said something. She bit her bottom lip and stared toward the building really certain that going to the apparent source of the problem might just at least get them started on the path to resolving all their issues.

“A word of advice. You’ll have to learn to get over Hunter,” Glen quietly told Stella. “He’s a good man under that vain and pompous exterior. It’s partly a shield he uses to keep people away. You’ll grow to like him if you try, honestly!”

Glen spoke up, “Listen up everyone. We have no communication with the ship. That means that we can’t ask them to beam us up, so effectively we are marooned here. It’s possible that our other instruments are faulty too. That might also explain why they have a problem with the mining machines down here. As Stella quite rightly says, the answers will come from communicating with people in the old fashioned way, so lets go inside and find someone in charge to speak to. Keep together, don’t go wandering off and follow me.”

Glen began walking towards the door to the building, opened it and went inside.

The doors of the building swung open at their approach and as they looked around inside the building they saw it was set up with stations that went around the circumference of the building. It appeared that the stations had something to do with running the mining equipment and all was in chaos. People hollered back and forth and worked frantically in opened panels as they apparently tried to get the machines to work properly again. A tall, grey haired and bearded man stood in robes in the middle of the chaos barking out orders. It would appear that he was in charge of the chaos and the one to speak too.

The security just kept an eye on everything that was going on ,after all he was there to protect the Captain and his team. Not to mention obeying orders from his D’H.

Sharp sec.

Hunter had been walking behind the Captain , he looked around at the chaos surrounding him .Seeing the one giving orders. he figured he was the one the Captain would soon approach.

Ashley was next to Hunter also right behind the captain as well. Thinking to herself wondering what might happen around their surroundings.

Captain Glen walked straight up to the tall, grey haired and bearded man, who stood in robes in the middle of the chaos, barking out orders, and he asked, “We are here to speak to Advisor Platus-Leader of the Mining Colony on Ardan V please?”

  • Glen, CO

Hunter rubbed his chin when he heard the Captain saying please ,the doctor would have preferred to see Glen grabbing the man from the throat and shaking him instead.

Hunter Dr.

Lance stood at the back he was looking at the any of the displays he could see to see if there was something going on on the miners screens. If the same issue plaguing their communications to the ship
