Max was ready for the trip and wanted to let the bridge know. He tapped on the comm area on the station and said =/\=Mullins here. I have the ship prepared to go under water up to 1000m. I am hoping that is as deep as we need go to. I have the calculations to make a change if we need to go deeper but the deeper we go, the shorter time we need to spend down at that level.” Max had sent NE Lécuyer to the transporter and was ready to head down to the planet in the shuttlecraft with the rest of the away team. He was excited to see what this shuttlecraft could do under water but based on his calculations, the shuttlecraft should be good.

Cross made her way to the shuttle bay ,she was cursing under her breath mad at Glen and since he had not answered her question about the change of uniform,the CMO reasoned there was no need since they’ll be under water .For now she simply waited for the rest of the team.

Max thought he heard someone and looked up and saw Lt Cross arrived at the shuttlebay after he sent his message up to the bridge. He assumed she left before he provided an update to the bridge. He then stepped outside the shuttle and said, “Welcome Lt. I have the ship ready to go underwater up to 1000 ft but can make changes if we need to go deeper. We just need to wait on the rest of the away team to join us.”

Cross nodded though she was still annoyed by the captain ‘’ I know Lt ,I have been on many away missions but never like this, in a shuttle underwater hope we won’t be gobbled greedily by something ,shuttle and all’’ the CMO then asked ‘’You shall keep an eye on the radar won’t you ?’‘.

Guy was concerned at the mention of the team being eaten. Also, it wasn’t his place to say this, but were they even equipped for an underwater mission?

Armed with a phaser and rifle, M’Mera made her way into the shuttlebay on Deck 12, she noticed the CMO and what looked like the CE standing near the shuttle and headed over to them. Her ears were pricked forward in curiosity. She had met the Doctor in Sickbay but this would be the first time she worked with him, and it would be good to meet the CE.

“Good afternoon, I am Lt. M’Mera, the new Chief of Security.” She said in way of introduction.
The female doctor looked at the new arrival ‘’Ah so you’re with the shuttle team that’s great ‘’ Cross responded back ‘’Good to know we have the COS with us as well’‘.

It was strange that Cross was acting the way she did, considering there was a time when she hardly obeyed orders and would more often then not leave the landing party and step into difficult and dangerous situations Must be the darn pregnancy hormones she thought to herself, though for now there was no visual signs of that.

Once the shuttle team had assembled, NE Bulky came out of the back of the shuttle, “..We loaded up some high pressure modified EVA suits for all of you plus two more. There’s also a kit aboard in case you got to suddenly do some emergency hull patching due to leaks or something. Also in there are small hand units for the EVA suits and breathing masks for shallower depths in case you need to go for a swim near the surface or something..” he said.

“Excellent, you sseem to have thought of everrything, but doess one of thosse ssuitss fit a Caitian?” M’Mera asked.

Cross was surprised by the way she talked,it seemed that she hissed at every word ‘’Don’t worry Lt they come in various sizes ‘’.
Well at least she hoped the EVA suits did.

”..They do ma’am, all of them are uni-race fitted, you’ll just need to keep your tail wrapped about your waist a bit..” Bulky said.

“Excellent, I can do that.” M’Mera said with a satisfied nod as she looked around at the others. “Who arrre we waiting on?” She asked.

Cross shrugged her shoulders ‘’No idea ‘’ she replied to the new COS,after a moment thought the CMO asked ‘’Have you done your medical and been cleared for duty ? Cause once we had a Lt who went straight to the landing party and the Captain went ballistic ‘’.

“Yesss, I jusst came herre frrom my physsical. I am clearred for duty.” M’Mera said reassuring the CMO.

Lance had snuck in whilst everyone had been busy. He’d stuffed his bag of tricks, scanners and things that could sample stuff if the opportunities arose.

“Does anyone else find it worrying that we fly around in space and visit lots of tough planets.’ Lance asked “But people only worry when you go under water and then give you back up suits…I always thought space was a more extreme environment, clearly a thought not shared by the shuttle builders.”

‘’Lt, danger lurks everywhere ‘’ Cross replied ‘’Having said that I much prefer to have both feet on solid ground then in a shuttle underwater but what the heck orders are orders ‘’.

Once again, Guy kept silent. He didn’t like to think about dangers “lurking everywhere”, and with the new COS here, he needed to be on his best behaviour. He had appeared to get off on the wrong foot with the previous COS due to Doctor Cross reporting him, and he really didn’t want that to happen again. In any case, it had been been hundreds of days since the last shuttle craft malfunction!

Though Cross had every faith in the Chief Engineer that he made their shuttle safe and secure she sill had that feeling in the pit of her stomach, seeing Guy not really elated at the prospect of a shuttle going underwater did not help either ‘’ Lt can it withstand the pressure if we have to go deep?’’ the doctor asked the CE ,the last thing on her mind was the shuttle imploding due to the pressure.

Max looked at the doctor and responded, “I have made changes to the shields and hull and we should be good to go down to 1000 m but if we need to go deeper, I have set up the calculations so if we need to go deeper, its just a matter of providing the data to the computer and we will be good to go deeper. I just wanted to start at 1000 m and then go from there if we need to go deeper.” He then let out a little bit of a laugh. He knew the question would come up but he was surprised they needed to ask the question when they would have expected me to have this ready to go for this deep.

Cross nodded,at this point she felt a bit more relaxed ,still the doctor took the seat behind the CE for he was the one taking them under in the hope of keeping a sharp eye on the radar image .

M’Mera entered behind the other two and took her own seat on one of the benches behind them, strapped in and said,”Rready to go.”

Lance took his seat and “Born ready.” he quipped to M’Mera “I personally feel we are safe on this mission all we have to deal with is big fish and crushing depths, it sure beats angry natives.” he said trying to look on the bright side. “I’m looking forward to see the crater site, I’ve just been reading up on some, we could see some amazing scientific discoveries from this.” He figured if he didn’t think about the danger an concentrated on the good things he wouldn’t worry.
