USS Merrimack

Main Sim - Landing party - Transporter room

[snip]

The Captain eventually arrived. He didn’t know whether a promising site for beaming down to had been found yet. They needed a town quiet enough that no one would see them materialize, but they also needed a town large enough that it wouldn’t seem unusual that no one had never seen them before, and cosmopolitan enough that no one would question their accents or their clothing. Once he had that then they could go. They had a range of 30,000 km.

He could see everyone was already there, “Sorry folks, for being late! Turned into question and answer up there. Are we all ready?”

Glen stood on an available pad.

  • Glen, CO

Hunter stood up and stepped on the transporter pad, he had nothing to say except ‘’Aye Captain’‘. The doctor had concealed a medical tricoder beneath his shirt though he opted not to take a medical kit knowing it won’t be easy to hide .He knew Sharpe had also hid a phaser and who could blame him, he was after all a security and since Glen had said nothing about ‘carry permit ’ Hunter mentioned nothing.

Hunter Dr.

NE Lécuyer was ready to get going. She responded to the captain, “Engineering is present and ready to go.” She was anxious about going on the away mission as she had not been before but the Chief apparently had confidence in her so she was ready to go.

Lt. Mullins
Chief Engineer

The male doctor could sense her apprehension knowing this was her first mission ‘’ Don’t worry just stay with us, we always watch each other’s back ‘’ he tried to reassure her .Then said a silent prayer knowing he was going to materialize somewhere else, just in case the transporter malfunction and he would turn into a heap of pulp.

Hunter Dr.

Sharp on the other hand was eager to go ‘’Beat standing at sickbay any time ‘’ he commented.

Sharp sec.

NE Bilbo at the transporter controls spoke up, “..So landing site is a thick grove of trees about 2km or so out from one of the more robust mountain towns that seems also linked to smaller towns higher up or further out, and a larger city 20 or so km further south in the middle of the main continent. Its also home to a main government building and center as well as a small military outpost. All your clothes are from surrounding regions we saw the more isolated hermit folks wearing so you should blend in without problems. Your collar pins have a small one way communicator too. One tap to send voice to us, another tap to switch to receive. It will also let us keep a basic location marker on you at all times unless you get near any heavier electrical equipment.” he explained handing each the small comm pin to hide among their collar and the associated inner ear speaker as well as their clothes/jackets.

Then handing the group some old styled late 22nd and early 23rd century phase pistols/lasers sidearms he went on, “..We’ve also disguised our normal type-1 and 2 phaser units. Seems older phase pistols, laser pistols, are worn by anyone. So you should be fine having them holstered or under a jacket, etc.” then handing each a small bio-chip pin he went on, “..These bio-pins are worn on a person somewhere, pockets usually or the like. Similar to old Earth wallet’s with card IDs in the later 20th and early 21st centuries. We’ve connected them to your false ID’s in the colony systems, as well as a credit chit account in the local currency for trade. We randomized the amount in case anyone checks more closely..” looking to Glen then, “..Captain you have 1,532 credits, your cover ID is a former low ranking militia non-commissioned officer who retired to a simple farming and hunting life. Doctor Hunter you got 232 credits, your cover ID is that of a travel nurse who goes from town to towns offering simpler medical treatment in exchange normally for tips, basic supplies and/or rides to your next chosen town. Ensign Lecuyer you have 893 credits, and your cover ID is also as a traveling technician, unlike the doctor who works mostly for free you do charge some manner of credits for your work plus tips, supplies, and/or rides to another town. Lastly, Ensign Sharp, you have 489 credits, your cover ID is as a hunting partner in business terms with the Captain, you also deal as a security consultant in your spare time. In all cases none of you have family, either due to not starting one, them passing away, or being estranged and out of contact for some time..” He explained returning to the transporter console.

”..Also I assume we’ll be keeping the local miner up here for now? Or did you plan to bring him with you?” he asked.
