It was about 4 days later during which the Merrimack had been at Deep Space K-5 on some well earned R&R and replenishing their crew rotation and other such things. It was 1337 in the afternoon when a ship wide comm call was relayed through the ship from the station commander. =/\= Attention USS Merrimack, all senior staff report to Lieutenant Commander Grafton in briefing room 2 in 20 minutes. =/\= A female said.

Internally, Xavier groaned. Lying on his back on the floor of the sonic shower in his quarters with his legs raised against one wall with the water, infused with their sonic vibrations and all gently falling on him after his gym session, he was far too relaxed to have to get up and ready for the end of the ships downtime.

Get up he did however, and a full minute on his feet with the sonic function turned off and the water on cold got his heart rate up and the energy needed to get moving. Dried off, uniform on and some basic grooming complete, the Merrimack’s new CSO made his way towards Briefing Room 2 with minutes to spare.

Stepping inside, he moved to one side in case anyone walked into the back of him and looked around at the room setup. Assuming he was in the right place of course. The ships Deck Layout made no mention of a Briefing Room 2 so, he had made an educated guess and headed to Conference Room-B on Deck 3 instead as they were on the same deck as his quarters.

Xavier would arrive to find Conference Room B on Deck 3 in darkness and was not set up for any meeting. He’d quickly realise that the announcement came from the Starfleet office on the station rather than from the Merrimack. Not to worry though, it was an easy mistake to make. He wasn’t the first to make it, wouldn’t be the last, and someone should really have explained that to him. Also, 20 minutes was very short notice to leave the Merrimack and to find the Station Briefing Room, so there was no way he would ever be the last to arrive. If he left now and walked there, then he’d probably see some other Department Heads running to make it on time.

Captain Glen was also annoyed at the short notice given about the meeting. This was on top of their shore leave being cut short. He cut short the entertainment utility he’s been running, left his Quarters and headed for the briefing. What could be so important?
