The Captain contacted his XO, still on the Bridge. =/\= Joe, I’m sure Miriam has told you already, but we have a lockdown situation down here, so I’m stuck in Sickbay, with minor injuries moved to the Gym. I’ve obviously instigated an Amber Alert and Secuirty has been posted around the ship. I’m not sure you should be wandering around the ship yourself, so maybe you should think about self-isolating in your Quarters. I’m confused by the Science of this though. I’m getting conflicting reports. The bacteria may only be infectious airborne when it is at a certain stage of its lifecycle. I think we need a virtual meeting of staff to clear this up. Miriam has unhelpfully broken her own enforced quarantine and dashed off somewhere without saying, so I can’t ask her. Horses for courses for her, I guess. Though I’m a bit more worried about her as she keep mis-remembering things that happened a very short time ago. We also need to speak with this child, so I don’t care if we break quarantine regulations or not, I need someone who can talk to her down here. My guess is that the Klingons left this planet because of the bacteria. Unless, they didn’t get affected because of the chromoanagenesis they have suffered as a result of the Qu’Vat virus. What do you think? =/\=

=/\= I’m of the same mind sir. we need to get moving on talking to the girl. I mean while it is an infection and all I’ve had it and all it’s done to me is given me the ability to hear what people are saying behind my back. Pretty amusing sometimes but nothing life threatening. And I understand that science has found a way to just scan the ship and detect the disease now at any rate and then do a quarantine on those people. No having everyone queue in line to be checked or having a lockdown required really. I’ll go see Cross and then see if we can’t get some kind of handle on talking to the child sir. “Sir?” Kahuna told the Commander, “I can take over the Bridge if you leave. I completed my Command exam last week, Sir!”

Max walked onto the bridge and took a quick look around. He saw Lt Kahuna sitting at the command chair. He had been ordered to go up and take over on the bridge and attempt to get hold of the Klingons. Max then walked over to the command chair and said to Mr Kahuna, “I have been requested to take over command and reach out to the Klingons to see if they have faced this sort of Bacteria or not. Please return to your post on the bridge and await order.”

“Okay, Sir!” replied Kahuna. “I’ve kept the Captain’s chair warm for you. My shift finished so I’ll take my leave of the Bridge now, if that’s okay, thanks.”

Max then took a seat at the command chair and started looking at things on the screen on the command chair. He knew he needed to reach out to the Klingons so he believed the best thing to do was ask the communications officer to open a channel. He then looked over to the communications desk and asked the officer at the station, “Please open a channel so I can request for information from the Klingon vessel who should still be in the sector.” He waited for a response so he could reach out to the Klingons.

NE Marconi at Comms replied, “Yes, Sir! Monitoring all frequencies and trying to to open a channel now!”

With the channel open, Mullins was ready to ask for assistance from the Klingons. He then spoke, “This is Lt Mullins of the USS Merrimack. I am temporarily in command. We have some bacteria going through the ship and we need some assistance. Is anyone aware of this type of bacterium,. I will be sending data through subspace for additional information. This is for anyone who is still within in the area. Any information about it would be ideal. Please respond.” Max then entered the data into the command seat to send over the subspace channel which was open. He hoped for a quick reply in order to relay down to sickbay to the executive officer.

“Trying!” said NE Marconi. “I’ll repeat that contact signal every five minutes, Sir!”

Verity stepped out of the lift and onto the bridge. She saw Mullins in the command chair. “Lieutenant Mullins, where is the Captain and the Commander?” She asked as she looked around the bridge, her eyes stopping on the ready room door. “Do you know if we have been able to make contact with the Klingons?”

Max saw the Lieutenant walk onto the bridge. He then heard the question and responded, “The captain is still in sickbay and the Commander is still with the child and trying to figure out what is going on. The Commander requested that I take control of the bridge and ship and attempt to reach out to someone for any assistance with the bacterium. I have attempted to contact the Klingons or any one else, but we have not heard anything as of yet. ” He then looked over to the communications officer and said, “Do we have any updates on the signal as of yet? Have you attempted to send the signal out on every frequency as that might help? Please advise.” Max was hoping for something very soon otherwise, this might blow up in his face and he did want to that to occur at this point. He was hoping for a quick resolution. He then waited for a response from both Lt Aphelion and the communications officer.
