It had been a couple of days now since Joe had been confined to his cabin because of the thing in his ear. At least he thought that’s how long it had been. He remembered that at some point he had remembered his grandmother’s old saying, “A dollop of whiskey will make you frisky. “Whenever someone had gotten ill.

Joe had thought on this. It may have been true. The only problem was no one had ever asked the old girl precisely what a dollop might be. What measuring system did that come from? He had gotten out his last bottle of Irish whiskey. It was only half full. Well, he reasoned. If he didn’t know precisely what a dollop was sure a half bottle with nothing to mix it with might be just about right to be a dollop.

Thus, it was that Joe managed to lose a smidgeon of time. However much that was. And he sat then wondering why no one really taught these measurements? Whatever the answers were to any of these questions he knew that he was growing irritable being cooped up for whatever folksy measurement that might be most precise.

OOC: Dont mean to be a debby downer but its not been a few days yet, main sim wise since arriving beaming down, and reaching to the point of Joe getting his ear plugged its at best 10 or so hours main sim time......thought id clarify for you all

I thought the same thing. if you are to confine yourself to your Quarters for the next three days then you are going to miss a lot of the Sim. I don’t think that was what you had in mind.

To everyone FYI:
Think of a Sim as a weekly epsiode of Star Trek - so a two to three month long Sim is equivalent to a week real time (and on some occassions longer, but rarely more than a couple of weeks, and more often just one or two days - so for sake of argument, let’s just say one week.) So, one day of game time is 8-12 days of real time. Being confined to Quarters for 3 days in the Sim is equivalent to a whole month in real time!
