Valleea came out and the lights above reflecting off her silver swimsuit that was fairly modest. But the back was more open and Niniane could see that the lines of spots merged together at the top of her back and stopped midway. She gave her friend a smile and moved to the edge of the pool, letting her feet dangle in. “So, what’s your usual workout?” she asked curiously, retying her mass of chocolate hair so it was off her face and neck.

Niniane shrugged with a smile. “Couple of lengths up and down until I’m almost out of breath and then just splashing around, enjoying the feeling of almost weightlessness. Not as good as zero-grav training but more relaxing. Is it weird that I feel somewhat akin to you just because of the spots?” she asked.

Valleea grinned. “Not at all. It’s something familiar when everything in our lives is at the mercy of variables we rarely get a say in. I think I get it,” she said, sitting on the edge of the pool and slipping her legs in. In a way she was glad it was a pool setting and not a beach. Her dreams had been shifting towards those old memories with Daharren after her impromptu session with Ryley and she wasn’t sure she could handle t=it, even in such a vastly different context.

Niniane chuckled with a wide grin. “Yes that’s it! Wow, sure you’re not a counselor? We can call everyone else ‘the spotless’ when we’re alone!” she said jokingly. Then she attempted to dive head-first into the pool next to Valleea. Unfortunately the floor was level with the water, so she made a full-on belly-landing and splashed Valeeaa wet.

Coming up and spitting water, Niniane looked at Valleea apologetically.

Valleea looked a bit irritated and was wiping water off her face. “Well, I was going to get in and get wet anyway, wasn’t I?” she remarked. “Are you okay? From what I’ve witnessed before that sort of landing can be quite painful.”

Niniane shook her head. “No I’m fine, sorry for the shower.” she said and started swimming, visibly enjoying the feeling of weightlessness in the water.
“Ahh, it’s marvellous. I should do this more often.” she said.

“Why don’t you?” Valleea asked as she slipped into the water. While she had no fear about being in the water and could swim well enough to pass a swim test, it just wasn’t something she did very often. She swam at a comfortable pace, just letting herself get adjust to the resistance against her body as she moved.
