Entering the lounge, everyone would see the space that they were supposed to head to for the event. A large colorful banner with the words Freddy’s Friends hung across several tables. Latex balloons adorned several tables with small PaDD’s set out at each seat. While they were in the lounge and food was readily available at the proverbial snap of the fingers. two large tables were set up with snacks set out as if it were a party. The moment Vanessa walked into the door, Federik’s eyes locked on her. “Vanessa. You have no idea how pleased I am to see you.” He opened and closed his hands like a chubby toddler waiting for a treat as he beckoned her forward.

“Hello Commander,” Vanessa said reaching out and taking his hands. Squeezing them she felt the knot of dread filling her. This crew was going to hate her by default of association with this man. “I am just going to sit back here so that everyone that is new gets a front row seat.”

“No problem they should all be coming soon,” he looked at his watch. “Don’t want to go have to round them up.”

Calvin walked into the lounge and seeing the corned spun on his heel immediately with a sharpness that cut the air like a blade. It would have been an about face that would have made any drill sergeant proud at the academy. Unfortunately they were not on the parade field. His turn resulted in him knocking into a group of JO’s that were following him too closely. The commotion attracted Freddy and a voice broke through the commotion like an old fashion PA system.

“Captain my captain,” Freddy’s replied walking towards Marius with the same arm extension. His hands opened and closed like a chubby toddler’s reaching for something desired. “You don’t know how happy you have made me coming down here.”

Linking his arm through Calvin’s as if the Captain was escorting him into an event. “The last ship I was on was the USS Atlantis and that crew,” he rolled his eyes. “I swear Captain Bordeaux made me hunt her down like I was a Marine on a mission.” The mention of the Marines was intentional. Freddy had done his research and know Marius had spent time in the corp.
