Menn walked and sputtered out nervous questions and comments as they headed to Captain Marius’ office. Beth however was far more quiet and reserved in her verbal bantering. The ship was on yellow alert so the people that passed the team bringing the guests to Calvin moved about quickly and with little bantering.

As Beth and Menn walked into Calvin’s ready room, the two wore very different expressions. Menn looked concerned and worried while Beth seemed to be oddly relaxed.

Calvin was not sitting in the room as he typically was for meetings like this. Instead he stood with his hands clasped behind his back in a pose reminiscent of a parade rest looking out the window.

He waited until he heard the pneumatic door swish close before commenting, “sit rep” to the officers that had brought Beth and Menn to the room. Calvin had been rather busy the past quarter of an hour but not too busy to know one of his own people were in sickbay.

“The Lesscoo have surrounded your ship. I suggest you comply,” Beth stated drawing a look from Menn. “In fact if my tour has taught me anything it is that you can not interfere so it would be most beneficial for you to move your ship and let us figure out our own path.”

“Captain,” Menn looked at Calvin with an expression of horror. “You..you can’t leave us helpless against the Lesscoo. They will enslave and kill,”

“Oh yes he can and yes he has to. Don’t you Captain? Interfering is against your precious code if I understand your Prime Directive.”
