Sharah nodded, “That one there,” she pointed just behind her. “It’s where we got off, it just stopped, we were able to get the doors open. If one malfunctioned, maybe others did as well.” She was up and moving again to the other crewmen that they had sent ahead to see to them in the safe area she had sent them to.
En. Fayth, Doctor
Ashlyn had a lot of remarks she wanted to make but decided it was best not to make them. After putting in her own rebreather, she stepped off to head down the corridors to the other turbolifts. Why is it always turbolifts when things fail? Ashlyn hated turbolifts but could do little about them, this was just going to be yet another reason to not have them on the growing list of reasons. Her head hurt and it was difficult to focus, but Ashlyn didn’t need focus to keep moving for now.

Security, USS EuropaAhead through the haze, the damage to the corridors worsened but there were no longer any active flames. At the end though, the other turbolift sat and Cassidy had a sneaking suspicion she knew what happened. She tapped her commbadge. =/\=Abrams to Zorell.=/\=
There was only static.
Abrams exhaled. “Computer, what is the location of Lieutenant Zorell?”
“Lieutenant Zorell is on Deck 2. Deck 3. Deck 2…”There was a fizzling sound that most definitely sounded like processing issue.
Cassidy cursed in her head and continued on, her eyes scanning the doors as they went. Most of this space were small breakout room for working and meetings and it was evening so unless the tricorder said otherwise, there were unlikely to be anyone in them. Still, they would need to check each one. “Come on, where are you?” she said as she stopped to peek inside one of the room and found it vacant, as expected. She wasn’t panicked, and in fact it was in a crisis that Cass became her calmest. But this felt different. Maybe because er best friend was a mom? And about to get married? She would feel this urgency for any of the crew if she knew their situation was dire, but it was the unknown that was hard right now. And there was that voice in the back of her head that told her Vora deserved good things and that God/Life/Fate/Whatever should just give her friend a damn break!

Ashlyn watched her Lieutenant for a while, but after checking another empty room she found herself speaking up. “Lieutenant, why are you checking rooms physically that you know are empty? The computer stated Lieutenant Zorrel is in a broken turbolift.” The computer may have been on the fritz, but the idea still presented itself that the computer detected her comm badge moving between decks 2 and 3. To Ashlyn, this meant that she was at a median between two decks and was breathing so her chest would move the badge between the two median points. This was good news but meant they would need some additional tools. “Did you bring a plasma torch by any chance?”
- Ensign Ashlyn Trenton
Security, USS EuropaAbrams shot Trenton a look. “No… that’s not exactly what the computer says. Now we did we ask it to extrapolate. The computer could also be experiencing technical issues trying to read the situation on this deck, which is why I’m checking every room on the off chance that someone is unconscious in one of those rooms and we’re not getting a proper read on their badges.”
Moving to the next room, but also making it quick, Cassidy revisited the other question. “No plasma torch. Not a part of the standard kit. But engineering should be down shortly. Why? What are you thinking?”
Abrams, COS
Ashlyn took a moment to consider what to say only to decide not to say anything, instead offering her department head the tricorder she was using to scan for humanoid bio-signs. “The plasma torch is so we can cut into the damaged turbolift to get the last two bio-signs out. I’m pretty sure it’s jammed and if we’re not careful we could dislodge it and cause it to fall, which would be bad.”

Abrams waved off the tricorder, letting Trenton keep using it. Technology was fallible and so were people. She was hoping to eliminate the errors inherent in both but right now it didn’t seem the time to stop and explain all that. “That also presumes it’s in an accessible position. The safest access will actually be through the doors, if we can get them open, and using the service ladders.” Abrams offered a reassuring glance. “It’s actually pretty hard to dislodge a turbolift. And we can initiate a maintenance cycle to prevent it from moving either way while we are in there.” At least the focus on more practical problems was helping quell the uneasiness that had settled into her body.
Shifting her gaze backwards, she looked for Fayth. “Any more we didn’t detect?” she called out.
