Vora has listened attentively, and of course committed the entire description to memory. But the look of incredulity on her face likely spoke volumes. “I can see the appeal for some, but nope, count her out,” she said lightly, trying to smile, but the pain was quite strong and rather distracting. “But count me out. I will do the an EV suit when I have to, but Zero-G I really don’t like.”

The fingertips of her left hand were tapping against her thigh and Vora looked upwards again, wishing the lifts were just a little bit bigger. “I don’t like the distorted sense of reality on the holodeck,” she said. It wasn’t quite a conversation prompt, but it was something.

Avik fully understood. Unlike humans, Vulcans didn’t sugarcoat the truth. It helped no one and the XO knew the moment Zorell tried it, the absence of knowledge would’ve been discovered. Likely followed by emotions of anger or betrayal. Feeling a slight unsettledness in the back of her head, she tensed briefly. A few breaths quickly put an end to the emotions trying to overwhelm her. She refused to lose her control here and in front of Zorell.

A moment of silence passed.

“From that statement, one individual can speculate that you rarely spend time on the holodeck. What do you do in your free time to relax?” Avik asked, altering her tactics.

She hoped the question would force a thoughtful reply from Zorell and help distract the Science Officer. It certainly was better than sharing things about herself. Avik considered herself a rather boring individual in comparison to most of her crew and she accepted it. Too much excitement and adventure would turn anyone into a nervous wreck over time.
