Sharah gripped her forearm. “We’re good. Let’s move.” She pulled out the second tricorder and began scanning. They needed that fire suppression system on soon. The chaos around the deck was overwhelming and Sharah couldn’t afford to become distracted. She turned her thoughts to Joseph and what he’d taught her about keeping her mind clear. This would be an interesting letter to send him later. Sharah glanced at her tricorder and then tapped Ashlyn’s left shoulder lightly indicating she had bio signs coming from the next left turn in the corridor.

This wasn’t parkour practice, this was an actual emergency and Ashlyn didn’t hold anything back. For how small the woman was, she was very quick on her feet. When signaled, she made the turn into the left corridor and found a door that was clearly on the fritz with a few crewmen inside. Ashlyn isn’t really an engineer so she didn’t have the means to fix the door, however, she was familiar enough with the ship to know how to open it with a manual release lever. The trick was getting the panel off the wall so she could get to the manual release. “I need help or leverage!” She grabbed hold of the panel to try to pry it off by hand if adequate leverage couldn’t be found but she had little hope for this. Ashlyn just isn’t that physically strong.

Security, USS EuropaSharah opened up her med kit and pulled out a long narrow tool. As Ashlyn pulled the the top of the panel out, she wedged it into the opening and then let Ashlyn use it like a crow bar. She scanned the crewmen trapped inside. She started soaking strips of cloth and passing them through the small opening where the door was jammed. “Put these on and get down below the smoke.” She ordered them. Once Ashlyn got the door open Sharah was inside checking everyone. Other than some smoke they seemed okay. “Go right down the corridor and then right again. There is cleared area left of the turbolift. It’s clear and safe, wait there.” She sent them out, made sure they went the right way and then rejoined Ashlyn. Sharah started scanning again. She shook her head ‘no’ to Ashlyn. She wasn’t picking up anyone else down this way. She got back behind Ashlyn as they kept moving.
En Fayth, DoctorCoughing would alert the two officers that someone was on the deck. Stumbling in their direction away from Astrometrics, Lt. Ki’lain coughed in all the smoke. Then she passed out.

Having checked the sensors for the situation, Cassidy had made decisions about gear and teams and sent the on their way to support the medical and engineering staff. Arriving on Deck 2, with a rebreather over her face, the COS squinted. But she could see that yes, fire suppression was kicking in. Why it didn’t immediately was a concern, but at least that part was going to be dealt with.
Moving carefully with a bag of supplies slung over her shoulder, Abrams searched out the corridors for people. “Hello? Anyone there? Sound off!” she called out loudly, her voice crisp and clear.

Ashlyn came from the right corridor and started rushing down toward Astrometrics, for a very brief moment her eyes took note of the Chief of Security, then snapped to the tricorder in hand, then back to the direction she was traveling and the walls that were hiding relay junctions that may or may not be a danger to be near. The internal conference was busy analyzing all the information at once and it hurt, but Ashlyn was going to push through it while there were still people to help. “Trenton and Fayth are on the move, we heard coughing at Astrometrics, we’re headed that way now. I have six additional bio readings on this deck, two should be heading toward the safe zone by the Turbolift. One is at astrometrics, two more are along the port side corridors, the last one is in their quarters also port side.” Even while shouting this, Ashlyn didn’t stop. Rainns had always stressed that her first duty was to the ship and crew, but when the ship was the problem, the crew came first. There would be no death today if she could help it.

“Noted,” Cass called towards Trenton. “But, Ensign. Stop and carefully come to me. We’ll help everyone, but we need to take precautions first. I’ve got equipment. Breathing is useful,” she said with a light tone hoping to help quell the slight tone of panic she thought she detected in the ensign’s voice. She moved towards them but at moderate pace.
Reaching into her bag, she took out a rebreather that would filter out the worst of the smoke, though it wasn’t an air supply.
