“You go crazy Ensign.” Marsh almost laughed, was he ever so earnest and motivated. He was only a Lieutenant and all he could think about was how many hours he carve into his schedule to sleep now… a few years ago it was how many drinks he could fill into his schedule… but now the old man dreamt mostly of sleep. “I’ll look forward to it.”

“Anything else?”

Fayth shook her head, “No Sir. Thank you.” Once she was dismissed she left and headed straight to the arboretum.

Marsh did a half salute, “Dismissed Ensign.” With the new officers he tended to use rank more often, it was a touch-stone for them most often, a memory from the academy…

En Fayth had been working and researching. Her first stop had been to the arboretum to see what plants were already planted and to get a sense of the current layout. The store room for the arboretum also had plenty of materials to use. Once back at her quarters she requested a list of known allergens for the crew, removing names and identifications. She just needed to know what NOT to put in the garden. With that list in hand she was able to quickly mark off the 1 plant they had on board that would cause a problem. There were others allergens she would have to make sure didn’t come on board, but currently there was only one. It was in the see stores, Lambs Quarter. She then pulled up several different layouts for the arboretum. She narrowed them down by size and dimension. There were several she liked, but didn’t quite allow her to provide more privacy. She combined a few and finally, with the extra “props” in the arboretum storage, she had what she hoped Lt Marsh would consider a good plan.

Two days later, the evening before her 48 hours of off time were over, Faythh was back at the CSO’s office. She wasn’t sure he was on duty, just about off, or off. She’d leave the PaDD with the diagram for him if he wasn’t here. She rang the chime and waited.

Marsh had adjusted his door to respond to any internal electronic source, with a flick of his finger the door opened and his voice could be heard without him bellowing. “Come in.” He couldn’t quite see her until she had entered. Marsh always looked busy when he was behind his desk, much to the contrary of his appearance when either on duty or off duty.

“Ahh, Ensign what you got for me.”

“Hello Lt. Marsh.” Sharah approached his desk and handed him the PaDD. “Plans for the arboretum for your approval or rejection.” The PaDD included the identification of the known on ship allergies and then the layout for the Arboretum with all plants listed. Tapping on each area will show the plants in detail as well as the landscaping. Sharah has managed to double the number of secluded spots with the new layout as well as allow plenty of room for the plants to grow without being over crowded. With just her working she gives the plans a month to be implemented.
