The Andorian nodded gravely, but there was no judgment in his expression at all. “We all have our battles, Lieutenant. You should be proud of yourself, many do not win this particular fight. I’m no stranger to it myself, as a matter of fact.” His smile was brief, a bit sad, and a bit knowing. He passed the scanner attachment tool over her once more and then stood back. “Well, you appear to be in perfect health. Though, Of course, I am no expert in your people’s physiology… yet.” Putting the medical tricorder and scanner away, he leaned against the bulkhead and took a sip of his tea. “You are officially cleared for duty,” he smiled, savoring the bitter flavor as one antenna bent slowly toward the steaming mug in his hand.

Holding the mug, Zorell’s maroon eyes went wide. “Wait? That’s it?” Physicals didn’t take very long, but at the same time, she was used to it having it be slightly more in depth than that. Then again, she wasn’t surprised she was in good health. She was probably in the best health she’d ever been in in her entire life so far.

His antennae curled inward and snaked their way back forward, as he looked at her, feigning shock. “I’ll go ahead and assume you have had medical care from a competent physician…”

Vora peered at him as if she wasn’t certain he was being serious or not. Was this some sort of trick. “I… haven’t really needed much medical care recently,” she replied. Even after that disaster of an away mission her issues had been more psychological rather than physical and a pass over of the tricorder had been enough. But now she was doubting things. After all, her experience with doctors had been mixed, even in Starfleet, and even on this ship. Years of an almost complete lack of medical care made it hard for her to know what was adequate and what wasn’t.

“Relax, Lieutenant, I’m kidding… Sometimes the job requires sarcasm to retain a modicum of sanity.” The Andorian’s expression softened as he spoke, reflecting his apologetic tone. “If you’re feeling a bit drained, I’d suggest making sure you get something to eat every four hours or so, and make sure to get proper sleep after your duty shifts. A routine might be boring, but it can be helpful for the psyche. Though, physically, you’re in good health. Physical health being my main concern, that’s about all I can say.” He smiled. “Did you have any other concerns?”

She shook her head. “Not really. If anything, it’ll be trying to drag my son in here for a check-up as well, but that’s easier now because he’s somewhat working with the crew. We can make it mandatory,” she said with a grin.

Her expression shifted and Vora was extremely pensive for a moment. “I…” She trailed off, not knowing how to begin this one thing in her head. “When I lived on Tenra, I got very ill and as a result I was told I could never have anymore children. But that was on Tenra. I don’t know that I want anymore children, or that my partner does as it’s not something that has really come up. But it might sooner or later. I guess… being in the Federation with better medical technology, it would make sense to see if from your perspective my ability to carry a child if I wanted was actually possible or not.”
